Horrible accident but the team wasn't even prepared for something like that. Were was the "safety" hoop which usually is next to the floor? Or a reserve gymnast? They wouldn't lose so much time if they did that.

After Mie 2009 I think there should be NO QUESTION that RG has nothing to do in the Olympic Games. I must say I find it ironic that Bruno Grandi told the judges to be fair right before the competiton started. Make no scandals, as RG is constantly under the evaluation of the IOC. Now I think it is time for RG to say goodbye to OG.

The reason why RG should not be in the Olympics should have to do with the fact that it is a gender specific sport, and those should not exist in the OG. When artistic gymnastics was for men only, since they did not believe women to be strong enough, that was an outrage; but when a sport is for women only it isn't? I don't care how beautiful this sport is, any sport that is represented in the OG has to be represented by both genders.

That is not rythmic gymnastics, that is a modified type of martial arts. They do not have clubs, hoop, rope, ball or ribbon. Nor balletic movements, pirouettes, fouettes and other stuff specific for rythmic gymnastics.

Well, that's several points lower than they would've scored without the error. Yes, it's still too high, but look at Kabaeva in Sydney with hoop (and that was when the COP severely punished drops!)

The judges will always manipulate the scores to keep the "favourites" on the dais wherever possible. They couldn't get away with it in Beijing in the AA thankfully, but the group competition was a joke.

I must say I don't feel sorry for them at all. They got the bronze. WTF?!?!?! I feel devasted for the other groups. This is just such a clear statement from the judges that if you are not born in Russia, you will have to compete hard for your medals. If you are born in Russia, relax, take it easy, we will give you the medals. You don't need to compete... :P
