My fig tree kind of self mutiplying itself over the years. I only get one crop a year usually in August. This August I see a lot of ripe figs on my fig tree and gonna upload a 2009 video in a week or so.

in south Louisiana the figs ripen mid-July. The most common variety is purple when ripe and half the size of your figs. Birds love them, as does my beagle, Buster, who I video taped standing on his back legs to get to the figs. To pick the ripe fig I hold it by the stem and press in the opposite direction it is growing on the branch. Very sweet, honey tasting when ripe.
