I was very please to come across this video. I love Robert Ludlum. In 2007 I read my first Ludlum novel, wanted to read every book he had written. I'd buy a few books at a time and when I finished reading them, I was like a junkie needing a fix--in my case it was another Robert Ludlum novel. Before reading any of his novels I had probably read only10 books in my life. I was 53. Now, I have read all 27 Ludlum novels, plus the 5 books with co-authors. I still read daily; same genre authors.
@voxnulla First off, comparing Ludlum to Eco, Po and Prattchet is a completely ridiculous concept, very different writers in very different areas of literature. Second, the movies do not follow the plot of the books whatsoever so comparing THEM is also irrelevant. Go write something better before arrogantly shutting down a hard working authors carreer.
@chirayuarc It's pulp, pure and simple. Perhaps Clancy is even worst, but Ludlum is purely flaccid and superficial tripe. See how the film adaptations of his books are empty and shallow. That says something about the emptiness of the drivel he wrote.
You could never compare a real writer like Eco, Po or Prattchet to the low life likes of Ludlem. This comment has more literary aspiration then the man's entire career.
