  • hey jang im planning on buying a similar brushless system and i plan to put it into a tamiya durga i just want to know if the system is reliable for racing thanks :)

  • I respect your opinion Jang and i would like to know what you think about comments made on suspension adjustments, wheel and tire sizes? I was going to buy the pro version until i seen your review. now im looking at the sunfire buggy going brushless for sure. what offroad RC's do you recommend?

  • hey Jang

at 4:25 u speak german and in Germany we call this thing ,,Knochen" its hard to explain hou u should pronounce this:)

by the way in Germany is this chassi the REELY BIG TYRE its exactly the same and the allmost ready to tun version costs about 60€

thanks for this review i have this car now and its great for building your owen Project hith custom parts and a 6s lipo in it...

  • maybe you should make another video on the the pro version out of the box tests to make it more convincing.

  • very good

  • Adjust the linkage arm connecting points appropriately and the suspension travel problems and upright breakage problems go away. Out of the box linkage geometry is "average" and not ideal for the kind of driving in the video. Mine bottoms out fine on the chassis with plenty of suspension travel and even some camber in the wheels for better handling. Hop up dogbones w/ universal joints if needed. Take the time to program ESC. A small amount of obvious tinkering and it's a fine durable truck.

  • the probmem lies in the tires, they absorb nothing, smaller rims and bigger tires ,it will never break

  • This truck has been renamed and is now called the Infinitive. Same vehicle different paint.

  • Das ist :D nice you can speak German

  • sr.

what is the difference between brushless and brushed version? i really need to know because im planing to buy

pls reply sr. i trusted you

  • @interhighh brushless has much more power to it and is also more efficient but all that come at a higher cost

  • Hey Jang. Can you please review the Exceed RC Rally Monster? (It's about $145 from Nitrorcx.com).

  • I have this car and I bought it today. I went out for a easy slow run down the oval it went top speed than slowed down and rolled over on the top ( not even fast ) I took it home and found out I have just wasted $350 it was all bent all the metal and that where bent ( driveshafts ) it is a wast of money :(

  • Hey jang, please reply. What brushless system did you put in? Where can I buy it? Would you recommend it as an upgrade for a beginners rustler xl-5?

  • Comment removed

  • So how fast does it go ??

  • Well I can jump cars with my mavrick mt brushless rc and it hasent broke yet and my shocks go all the way to the ground and it has not broke yet and I would say it is one of the best rc 1/10 scale rc for the money you pay

  • When u buy the brushed version it comes with weaker plastic and parts. the brushless come with stronger material to hold up with the power it puts out :)

  • @xXxLuke97xXx That's just incorrect, according to my contact at Exceed at the time. Exact same plastic. Only one set of part numbers.

  • would you say that exceed is a good company? are they durable?

    Thanks!!

  • @Rcpalace It varies from vehicle to vehicle. Some are good deals. Some are horifically fragile.

  • Bushless rtr is made to take the force of the speed it puts out it only broke cause you have brushed truck and parts with brushless set up

  • @xXxLuke97xXx This was the "pro" upgraded version with all of the supposedly stronger parts that were released with the brushless version. Only missing the aluminum shocks, and shocks weren't an issue. The brushless edition did not come with aluminum hubs or arms, CVDs, etc.

  • Do brushless mt maverick strada

  • I found that by adjusting where the shocks attach to the frame you won't have that issue any more, even with brushless.

  • Oh wait, never mind. You already answered my question. Thanks. Might get that buggy now...

  • is exceed rc worth it

  • Hey Jang I love all your videos and I have subscribed. I have only just got a new Hsp Brontosaurus 2011 model it is a bit different to this but I was reading the manuel of one of my other RC's that I think is the same manual to the Brontosaurus's when it said do not use a different charger for the battery and it said don't swap around any parts for different brands the manual also had some spelling errors should I trust this manual? is what it says correct?

  • All aluminum upgrades available at helipal .com for this truck look under hsp truck on side bar.

  • i have the brushless and it can hit the ground and flex more so i dont think i have that problem, maybe a design change?

  • will this work with a 5000 mah 7.2 high voltage nimh battery?

  • I was about to buy this for my brother because he needs a good entry level rc and he loves the trucks, does anybody know if the brushed version is a good truck please help thanks

  • @718mattmatt Check out my review of the brushed version.

  • emeril has another show so hes still runnin

  • Make a review on the 1/16 nitros!

  • Hey, about how long does this have to charge?

  • @jasqp17 6 hours

  • hey is this the same as the nitro version?

will the dogbones and hub carier break with nitro version??

    please repy

  • Love both the brushed and this brushless revie. so great your actually telling peoplr the truth on things. after years of youtube your the first iv subscribed to. i was thinking of getting a exceed as a second car to my traxxas rustler VXL. i would have bought the brushless version but youv saved me at least 100$ thank you! think ill get the brushed or the brushless buggy

  • theres ban easy fix for the suspension, take off the ends of the shox and slip some fuel line over the shaft then put it back together. thus making shock limiters!

  • awesome german there, friend... pretty sweeeeet ;)

  • to make it bottom out all u have to do is tighten the shocks, i have this truck in brushLESS and it does not break that often!!!

  • Great video. I was considering upgrading my dynamite truck to brushless. Now I will leave it be brushed.

  • Hey Jang, Could you do a video on how to install or retro fit sway or anti roll bars on this truck please.

  • hey Jang, can u review the exceed rc sunfire?

  • Easy fix if you must have more power, buy another motor mount, flip it around and place on other side, run dual motors, make sure you gear it right though, mine broke a bunch of dogbones before I got it right, too much power for factory bones.

  • if its a 540 size motor yes, but traxxas makes bigger ones so make sure thats what you have. Motor mount on the Dynamite puts motor too close to chassis to fit anything bigger.

  • Would the Traxxas 12t moter fit in that truck

  • Actually, ive purchased many parts from nitrorcx, but all aluminum parts are cheaper at helipal, plus nitrorcx has many parts out of stck so its kinda incovenient.

  • Also, if you are looking to upgrade the Dynamite truck dont buy parts from exceed, go to Helipal.com, their HSP truck parts are the same as exceeds Dynamite and half the price.

  • @Gamyrc no go to nitrorcx, much cheaper than exceed and helipal

  • My Dynamite did break a few dogbones. Just put 8mm spacers on the shock rods and problem solved, you will of course lose a bit of suspension travel, but if you stiffen up the springs everything works out preety good. My dynamite has dual 17.5T ezrun motors with dual 60A esc and dual 3s lipo and. Im running 26T pinion gears and it flies!

  • great vids. i have a slash 4x4 i was wondering what u would recomend for a traxxas truck under ::$400 just for backyard bash PLEASE REPLY

  • k jang ur amazing bcuz seriously no1 gives reviews like you ive been looking for reviews for exceed vehicles tht r not done by nitrorcx bcuz they r paid for it soo my question is since they use the same platform for each vehicle the short course version with smaller wheels would tht have the same promblems with suspension??

  • @TheCarguy05 The short course version should bottom out on the chassis before binding the dogbones up, similar to what I noted about the buggy, so it shouldn't have the problem. I can't personally guarantee this to be the case 100%, but I have heard from a couple other folks who have the buggy (same size tires as the short course one) and did not have the binding problem.

  • @UltimateRCnetwork Hi Guys, great review just a quick note,,, this truck when shipped with the brushless motor as a PRO truck comes with upgraded front hub housing, this offer much better performance over the brushed version when jumps are involved. I have the 2011 release and couldn't be happier,, very strong and brocken parts are yet to be seen.. Hope this info helps....

  • @auzzydesmo What do you mean by front hub housing? Caster block? Steering knuckle? All indications I saw pointed to my truck as being a pro-spec kit. I had no trouble with any breakages in the front.

  • Comment removed

  • @auzzydesmo hey man .. can you please tell me if the problem he is talking about at 07:32 ( dog bone) is still there or not.. cause i like it i wanna buy it but not with this problem.. please reply... this wld be my very first RC lol

  • too long

  • hey jang um i have an exceed rc and i do break the rear hubs some times but all in all its been a good truck and im happy ive bought it but i traded out the standard 540 mortor for a leopard brushless kit and it doin good

  • Thank you Jang , I almost purchased one of these for my nephew

  • great review

  • Thanks for doing this review, I was comparing this truck to the stampede, but had no idea how it performed.

  • awesome video man!!!!!! love all of your videos they are are awesome reviews and they are funny too.

  • what for an akku do you use?

  • i took out the front dogbones and it performs almost the same other than it slides around a bit.

  • what ez run brush-less kit would you recommend for a exceed Sunfire and i had a dynamite but after $300 of spars i just sold it. PS they are both brushed and i'm 13

  • ...you speak german? ^^

  • can you used a 8.5turn motor on that esc. do u think that esc power a slash?

  • can you used a 8.5turn motor on that esc

  • Excellent information. Thank you.

  • please do a review for the traxxas monster jam & rustler vxl

  • they did something too it. cause mine will bottom out off jumps. i am running a tacon 3200 kv, cvd's and 2s venom lipo. i don't know what is going on with your truck. i am sorry. i wond what redcat has done to change that. they do actually modify designs and then make them their own. so i am sorry for your missfourtune.

  • they changed the gears to 32 pitch.

  • Which stable 1:10 Truggy/Monstertruck would you recomend for bashing? (Cheap of course)

  • Looks like a great truck!!!

  • Anyway you can remedy the bottoming out by placing suitable lenght rubber pipe in the shock springs so it don't bottom out so far. I did that on one RC and had no more problems. But yeah it's a bad design.

  • Are the gear metal or just dye cast stuff?

  • Mate I enjoy watching your reviews but I can't stand reading some of the comments from people, talk about chip on a shoulder and tough talk through posting. Thx heaps for giving us the heads up of the limitations of the vehicle I still think it is the best purchase in brushed form for a 6yo and 8yo kid. Looks like it will take the bashing and go way fast enough to keep them entertained now if at around $110 you can have a better offroad RC that will suit a 6 to 10yo please let me know.10/10 Jang

  • @DeOliveira78 evader ext2

  • @18SHYBOY18 mate thx for pointing me to this I do remember Jangs post about this but I had never checked the price of this and honestly it looks like a better truck. Again thank you for pointing that out to me.

  • @DeOliveira78 also had my evader for about 5 months only thing that ive broken is the skid plate cost like 2 bucks to replace

  • nice review!

  • get traxxas or an hpi rc truck.

  • keep up the great work man

  • who designed these things thats horrible...Snap axles due to bottoming out... hahhah never heard of such a thing..... How dose that pass?? when you compress the suspension it bottoms out how can the manufacturer miss that.... Good thing it has metal gears... hahahha.

  • Have you ever tested one of the redcats aftershock 8e, backdraft 8e, earthquake 8e i would love to see a review on any of them

  • Are you getting the buggy version? I am thinking of getting one for the new outdoor track that my local hobbytown is getting. The mini revo is fun on the small indoor track and my rustler is destroyed so I just want a new car for the bigger track.

  • Good for a begginer? I wanted a Monster Jam Stampede. Which is better in your opinion?

  • @gabe2304 Pede all day!

  • @UltimateRCnetwork The only down-side for me is that my hobby store won't let me return the truck if I don't like it. I'm pretty shure it's the same thing on-line. =\ What do I do!?

  • @UltimateRCnetwork Stampede!

  • i am extreemly pleased you are doing honest reviews of these exceed rc products instead of just saying they are trash like most snobby rc enthusiasts

  • @beabiker Honestly they are trash. Parts support..well...they don''t have any parts support except on some Chinese website.

  • @rcguy8038 I got my replacement parts, 3 separate orders I had to make, each in a few days, shipped to my door from NitroRCX down in southern California, USA.

  • @UltimateRCnetwork If you had to make three separate orders it doesn't sound very durable in the first place. Also, aren't you located in California?

  • @rcguy8038 I am in nor-cal yes, and regarding durability, did you watch the video you're commenting on?

  • @UltimateRCnetwork No, it go bring about 3 minutes in when you were driving in circles.

  • @UltimateRCnetwork By that I meant to put it got boring. I know it's hard to make a good review on the truck considering in many factors. Just saying I will probably never buy one of those cheap hobby grade cars. I race more than anything so this car just doesn't appeal to me. I know redcat is climbing the ranks and getting up there but still.

  • @rcguy8038 I can't fault you for disliking this or any vehicle and I trust your reasons are valid, but in the future if you're not going to watch a video and don't have knowledge on the subject, please don't comment on it.

  • @UltimateRCnetwork Well I'll tell you my story since it is late and I have nothing better to do. I recently got my friend who is 16 into rcs. Told him to research what is good and go look for one. He goes and buys one of these. Never spent so much time working on a radio control car in my life. He I have had experience with this car I do have knowledge on it as I have taken it apart at least 10 times. Needless to say he doesn't use it anymore.

  • @rcguy8038 That's great. Now if you watched the video you're commenting on, you would have seen all of the parts that I broke in this test, and seen that I very very very strongly recommend against purchasing the BL edition of this truck. The brushed one was fine, but this here lasted me 2 packs before I was done with it. Have fun RC'in man.

  • @UltimateRCnetwork I will watch it tomorrow when I am focused enough to watch it all the way through. You do very nice reviews but are you going to start to review any planes soon? If I may make a suggestion-sc10 4x4. Also is this 1/10 scale or 1/12? Looks a lil small.

  • This was my very first RC Car, as I was looking for one this was a great buy so I thought. It was brushless, 50+mph, and RTR with battery and remote under $200.00. I broke it everytime I took it out. I d get 3 of everything I broke because shipping was something I needed as well because my or any local hobby store will not have these parts. A good deal wasnt such a good deal. So I stuck with Traxxas and HPI and they have been everything I could expect. You get what you pay for, nice review.

  • Do you plan on ever reviewing the buggy and/or touring car versions?

  • you say the hub carriers are expensive traxxas brand alum hubs are the same price...

i aggree about the dog bones. thats why the buggy version is more durable. it also has metal shock towers and i had very few problems with mine until my radio lost bind and a lamp post jumped out in front of me. i reccomend you buy and review the buggy version. really.

try the cva's. they will definately fix the problem.

  • Thx for that very unbiased review and pointing out that design flaw. I've got to admit... I was tempted at first. Keep up the good work. And may the might gods of turns and ampere and frequencies help you ignore the post with lots of question marks in it. Oh, and... *BAM!*

  • you put a straw and non shrunk shrink tube on the shock shaft so it will not let the dog bones to bottom out

  • Now the brushless one comes with a 7 cell 3000 mili battery

  • Hey Jang, this may be the dumbest question you've come across, but can I take out the brushes on a brushed motor to convert it to a brushless one?

    :D

  • @LiveTheLimit

no, it needs them to work, and so the only time you should be taking the brushes out is to replace them...

  • Hey Jag! Think you can do a review on the touring car that you talked about in the vid? It wood be great if you can!

  • So R/C independent suspension systems have the same problem I've been running into with trying to "invent" a full-size independent monster truck as a hobby/paper project...range of motion.

  • great

  • Great Review Jang! Ive been waiting for this, and I like how honest you are about your reviews, I think a lot of people forget that your an adult and you dont abuse these trucks, its kind of like owning a lambo...your going to see how fast it is, but your not goingto fly past a cop going 400MPH! Keep up the good work! Thanks!

  • is that the new dynamite pro because nitrorcx say that it has fixed the problems and upgraded tge motor and the overall car is far more durable

  • @goldylox1414 This is "Pro" spec with the all metal driveline and easy gear access.

  • @UltimateRCnetwork the brushed version isnt the same as the pro. the pro one does really have stronger diveline parts. this is a bit of an unfair review...

  • @fathead431 Old ones may have been weaker but the one that *I* have is from the later series and all of the parts except for the shock bodies (noted), wheel nut *color*, wheel *color*, and pinion gear size are 100% Pro spec, Pro part numbers. Pre-pro driveline parts are no longer sold by Exceed, per my manual, exploded view, part numbers, and my own eyes. One of the driveshafts that broke was a brand new replacement, the part from the most current "Pro" brushless edition truck!

  • @fathead431 Furthermore the older pre-Pro versions had a *plastic* spur gear and no gear cover assembly!

  • @UltimateRCnetwork wow. ok, i beleive you now :D

i stand by my reccomendation of the buggy simply because i had one, ran a mamba max 7700 on 3s in it and it hel up fine spanking its ass up a 25% steepness cobbled street doing 60-65mph. thedriveline is epic. i did hve a tc version, and it was good, but the steering lacked precision on smooth road with those tiny wheels.

i do reccomen you buy the buggy version, brushed or not, as it was one of the more reliable rc's ive owned in my time...

  • whats going on wuth the xtm rail ????????

  • ok how bout if i put that bl system in a duratrax evader ext? or slash?

  • boy im so suprised all the problems u had im going to get one soon.

  • check the shox... my redcat volcano (same thing almost) is advertised as having oil filled shox, but thats a lie!!!! thats why it was bouncy like yours

  • @1501HP Nah these shocks are all oil-filled, with proper silicone oil. I checked. It's just too thin for the size of the holes/gaps in the pistons. It does much better over bumps with 50wt oil.

  • man your doing a great job with your channel i watch all your vids, I would love to see you do a review on all traxxax electric models and do a big review at the end to give us your honest opinion on which one is your favorite

  • German for hubcarrier: Radlager

    German for driveshaft: Antriebswelle

    Nice Video! Greetings from Germany

  • yay the 24th viewer is pro

  • woo first comment :) great vid
