I am so sad for all the abuse that happened to children. when my mother was a child she was sent for a holiday with other children to a catholic home. The children we treated appallingly. I was a young child my first week at a catholic school and I bent down to pick something from the floor and the nun dragged me up by the hair. I never went back to that school. Religion, peace and love, I think not.
My thoughts are with the UK Migrants today - may Prime Minister Brown's Apology on behalf of the British Government and people, bring you all some relief and help your healing.

When i tell my children that i was a child migrant they say "So what"
I've never told them of the sorrow and cruelty i suffered in WA
I left the west in 78 and now live on the east coast
Although i have a house there i have never been back
I keep in touch with friends over there and promise a visit
But each time i freeze in my tracks
The fear of being stuck there again is too strong
Its a silly fear and i know things are different now but its a fear that fills my sleep with sorrow
