As an aspiring filmaker, I have to say that this is one of the most poignant, shocking and truly incredible scenes I have ever had the pleasure of viewing. Rob Zombie is a genius, no matter what anyone says.

This scene was genius...absolutely virtuoso directing by Zombie. If you don't understand the long pause before the shot, you either never saw this film with an audience, or you're an idiot....or both. Probably both. It wasn't just the Deputy being tortured there, it was the audience...
