That one twerp is so infuriating. Just throwing out ignorantly that he knows everything about the greeks. As you said, he's dead wrong about claiming the Greeks were wrong about astronomy. I think the problem with that greyhaired twerp is how little he knows about the depth of Greek history. He's taken a few aspects and laid a trowel over all of greek history and thinking. He's a true menace to integrity of historical study.

I have this theory, not an unreasonable one, that you bring back those Ionians from 2500 + years ago, get them caught up with all the new technology, then tell them to go solve the manned space flight problem, the solar energy capture/storage problem, the theory of everything problem, and within 10 years, they will have done it. They would find it ridiculous that with all the tools to hand, our generation has been unable to solve these problems

The Greeks were not wrong about astronomy, it was an ancient Greek named Aristarchus of Samos who first proposed the heliocentric model but Ptolemy for various reasons including in a later age dominated by the Church whose readings of the Bible was supported by Ptolemy got the air of publicity.
