  • At 9:00 it sounds like music in some computer games.

  • wow Hooter's Chinese woman style.....I would say I pulled Wing House girls but this would be a challenge

  • yue qin blues guy haha

  • Next time plan for a trip by train, try the train ticket agent or simply a traveling agent. There should be one in each university. Ask them before hand, and they should get a much higher chance to get your ticket. 5 Yuan processing fee though.

  • wow u speak fairly good mandarin! nice.

  • Thanks! But I am afraid its still not good enough, as I keep on getting random wrong things whenever I try to order food in restaurants. But it's more fun that way I guess...

  • Oct. 1st is a bad time to travel, but that's when the vacations are. I think the employers should stagger the holidays for people, because the strain on the transport system is ENORMOUS! We tried to get tickets 10 days in advance and EVERYTHING was sold out, usually to scalpers... The rail tickets should have the passenger name and ID number right on them to avoid scalping. As it is, the National Railway Company seems to support the mass-scalping of tickets which is such a dishonest practice.

  • the fight is quite interesting. Usually Chinese ppl don't get violent. Instead, they just get extremely cold or loud when you are mad. Judging by their accent, I believe those guys are from Northeastern provinces, who are known for really bad tempers...haha

  • I know, this is quite unusual. I am guessing something is changing, the City has outpaced the people, or the crowding is too great (some estimate the number of illegal residents of Beijing at 4 million!!!) which is causing more of this behaviour. Still a mild fight, but freaky to see on a train!

  • the reason they sent u to different windows is because those windows handle returned tickets. Sometimes you can try your luck there for last minute deals.the best way to buy a ticket is to stop by a >3star hotel. They charge a small fee. By the way, the ticket guy is very patient to u guys.

  • Oh, I know he is! Really, all the clerks were nice, the problem was they really either couldnt find tickets (at this station) or we couldn't communicate the problem (or Chinese...). At other stations and ticket offices the clerks didnt even care, just "mayou, mayou" ("no have") to all questions.

  • my god..Chinese HOOTERS!!!??

  • Well, they DID get the "Derek Seal of Approval". Nice to have some American snacks, too. Abucket of chicken wings was 20 Yuan. The thighs were lovely. Ahhh, this innuendo is priceless!!!

  • LOL very interesting.
