He doesn't get Lisa Hartman (Jennie) but he still gets to have sex with Lynn-Holly Johnson (Laurie). Did you see her in Ice Castles? Splits, spread eagles, double axels. His Suite for Laurie is going to sound like William Tells Overture.
Never seen this movie but looked for this clip as I'm a fan of Peter Beckett who is singing here. It was odd hearing his voice coming from someone else's mouth!

So sad that the actor who portrayed Camden passed away a few years ago. Great updated version of the original film of the 60's. Wish they would put oit on DVD and re-release the soundtrack which I have on cassette.

I would rank this movie up there along with The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles,St Elmos Fire. And yes this was one of the best scenes of the movie. Along with the drunk woman punching the cop. Funny.

It is a rather terrible movie, overall. But I like it anyway, just for a pleasant romp in Fort Lauderdale the way I first found it and a nostalgic look back at the early 80's. This scene was filmed at the bandshell on the beach in Hollywood, FL just south of Lauderdale.
For those of you not familiar with it, that auditorium is outdoors, in typical Florida style. I love the way they embrace the beautiful outdoors in everyday life in Florida. I am moving there this week, finally.
this is one of my most favorite scenes from a movie ever! i wouldn't recommend the movie as a whole, but this scene is so great and, boy, did i have a crush on Scott when i was little. i have been looking for this particular scene/song for a few years, so thank you for posting it!!!!
