The policies of loaning money for homes, to people who lied and weren't qualified caused the housing bubble and market crash. Borrowing trillions and bailing out those banks is Socialism, not Capitalism. Borrowing trillions more to bail out Union Auto Workers is Socialism, not Capitalism. @markstarr66 Socialism is generally involved in production processes - like subsidizing corn for livestock feed or funding oil exploration and refinement processes - and public/coop management of the market (China, or Germany pre-EU). The housing bubble and financial 'crisis' are much more complex than you are making it seem. And the policies that allowed trading shady securities are more similar to CRONY-CAPITALISM. Btw Mark, taxation has always been a part of this country - capitalism hasn't.
