...and 3 yrs before this came out...they were wearing tuxedos and dancing like Michael Jackson in a disco boy band with backsreetboys type choreography. check out munetaka and akira in "Lazy" here on youtube...hilarious. makes you wonder what is contrived? the metal or the disco?
I learned that standing in front of the speakers when I saw them Open for Motley Crue that Akira's opening riff could almost make your eardrums bleed, I have searched for years to replicate with other music, haven't found it... Does this take anyone back...
@Razzzzman Dude, I agree with you, the guitar sound is so immediate and 'in your face'. XYZ - Face down in the Gutter also has a massive guitar sound so check it out!
I remember having seen them in Paris in 86 I think, they were opening for Saxon. What a great solo Akira made on stage, he killed everyone in the audience. Great concert ! I thought waoww a Nippon Van Halen :-)
@jkcone43 What did your Loudness t-shirt have on it? I, DO, remember seeing a Loudness t-shirt back in the '80s, when they opened for Keel (remember them?) that had the Thunder In The East album cover in the front-and on the back it had "Thunder In The East, Tour In The West." DON'T WORRY-I'm gonna be 40 on August 30, 2010-and, STILL, LOVE metal TO THIS DAY!
@AngelofAnguish for my money, Lightning Strikes owns the day vs Hurricane Eyes. Alot of people would say that L-Strikes is their best album, but I prefer Thunder in the East. But hey, its like which do you like better: filet, lobster, or cheesecake? You can't go wrong no matter what!

this album, "Thunder in the East," is an all time classic. It should be in anyone's top 10 who loves tradtional 80s metal or glam. Just awesome.
