I read this book about 2 years ago. It was the only book i was actually very impressed with after i read The Hunger games. The second one was amazing, a lot more scary, and a lot more emotional. I actually felt pain for Thomas in the second one. This series rocks.

Graceling - Kristen Cashore. its really similar to the hunger games in the whole mystery thing and the main character reminds me a little of katniss. Its a fantastic book :)

Other ones I enjoyed that fit in that category are Enders Game, and The Uglies Series which has Uglies, Pretties, and Specials. all really good books. I think Enders Game is a series too, but I only read that one.

I think you would really enjoy Enders Game. It's about these super genius children that are training for war against these aliens. Its set in the future and it is very similar to Hunger Games.

@iluvu91097 no, it is possible to talk about a book without spoiling or telling the whole story! you just have to say for example: "the beginning was exciting but then it got boring ... the main charakter was extremely anoying but the others where all right.. i would recomend it to anybody who likes the hunger games... u really feel with the charakters... the story touches subjects such as friendship, loyalty, solidarity, danger .... its not completly realistic but i love it i felt entertained."

You should read Divergent. Similar to the Hunger Games, but not too similar.  Also, I reccomend I am the Messenger. It's a young adult book, and the guy curses a bit, but it's a great book.

Allison, you HAVE TO read "A song of ice and fire" by George Martin. The first book is called "Game of thrones" and was also made into a television show by HBO and it is brilliant to. It's a fanatsy book that is more focusing on the fate of some of the main characters and it is so fascinating and once you start to read you can't stop :)

If you like crime. investigations and such like stories I really recommend checking out the novels about Harry Hole by Jo Nesbø ( Yes, a Norwegian author with a typical Norwegian name) I definitely recommend The Bat Man, which is the first book about Harry Hole. It is a little boring in the beginning (like all books) but is a great story with an interesting and totally unpredictable plot.Hope you find my recommendation helpful :) greetings from a Norwegian fan :)

You should definitely try out The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare. It's got some slight similarities to The Hunger Games, but it's different and unique. The first book is called City of Bones. They're really fantastic books. : )

I recently read Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins and I was so impressed with that book! It was recommended by John Green who wrote many great books that you should also check out! (: My favorite books of his are Looking for Alaska and Paper Towns.
