  • Let's drop the big one on the 7 dislikes.

  • Great song!!!

  • 7 Dislikes. Do everybody a favor and take a long walk off a short plank.

  • omg he's so fucking racist but so awesome

  • @MrZetsamai he always says that he is playing around with people's ideas when he sings. He's a very funny/lighthearted musician who pokes fun at some people's world views.

  • @MrZetsamai It's satire

  • Six dislikes? Those people are dumb.

  • Ron Paul's theme song. XD

  • get the album sail away by randy newman..it is a great album its got this song on it along with alot of other gems

  • @rockermanmatt You rock. Thank you, these are phenomenal! Sorry for the original over-explanation, but too many people on the internet are just mouth-pieces and want to show how tough they are behind their keyboards. Thanks for not taking any offense and actually providing me with what I asked. You rock! :)

  • @rockermanmatt p.s. I only had one artist listed in my original post because I ran out of room after ranting. There are a few that I have seen over the past decade, unfortunately the only ones I have seen were mainstream. So PLEASE share something worthwhile so I can expand my palate. Thanks again!! :)

  • @rockermanmatt Thanks for that :) Now if you could do me the favor of citing some examples to support your opinion, that would be most appreciated. I long to be educated. Instead of simply stating that "I" need to look harder, why not help in the process and share your cultural references? Thanks in advance, I look forward to it. Not looking for a matching of wits, I sincerely want to find meaningful music that is relevant to current events. Thanks again :)

  • I miss music that meant something. I don't care if you can't dance to this. The newer music is used to drone us even more. They play it in the clubs so it must be good, right? ::Sigh:: Music means nothing now a days. Occasionally someone will make a song about inner beauty, or self-worth which is great, but there isn't any important music. The last song I know of was by Pink, the Dr. Mr. President, but it's still a far cry from the intelligence that went into music before computers did...

  • Thanks, Dan (you know who you are) for sharing your love of an amazing song-writer...changed my pov.

Respectfully, Mr. Newman--kick that commercial crap to the curb, and do what you do best, by giving us something worth listening to. Big <3

  • Isn't this a Tom Lehrer song? I've seen a video of him performing this song too. Who wrote it?

  • @fiddlercrab3 Randy wrote it but Tom Lehrer sang it also

  • Looks like the Pentagon, White House, JCS, and NSC have taken this song to heart. We're well on our way to WWIII. MOORAH!

  • He's a bit too much patriot. Just a little.

  • People dont seem to be getting the satire. That, of course, would take some intelligence.

  • Randy Newman For President!

  • <3

  • @3rkid2 you obviously don't understand his satire.

  • What the fuck, Randy?

  • @3rkid2 Go away.

  • @dmiwright can i at least leave first. I mean, shit, I'm not against your statement, just let me pack some essentials and we'll go out for a beer or a "pint".

  • drop it on america & the rest of the world will live in peace

  • @dmiwright that's basically what the song is saying

  • I dedicate this song to the oval office and all the politicians swarming around it...

  • Randy Newman could sing a song about anal rape and id still think of toy story.

  • @paistethrasher99 Randy Newman can sing an innocent song about true friendship and I'll still think of American foreign politics.

  • This sounds like the Trump 2012 campaign anthem to me...

  • It used to be that this song was considered strictly satire.

In today's political climate, "Why don't we just bomb the sum'bitches" is a legitimate foreign policy.

  • @drdan75

    Unfortunately. :(

  • So do you keep the niggers down before or after dropping the big one?

  • @ewanmcfadyen That's a good song too. lol

  • I ironically disliked this video

  • Of course...i'm assuming we're talking about Iraq. If the subject is Afghanistan, then you can just plug that into the sentence wherever Iraq appears.

  • @twimc

Did you honestly think that having begun this occupation we would just be able to walk away from it that quickly? The right thing to do would have been never to start this war. The wrong thing to do now would be to just withdraw without allowing the Iraqis the opportunity to assume control of their country.

This was first and foremost a Republican cluster frack.

  • lil more pep in this one when playing to american audience

  • OH MA GAWSH GUYS! this might be the only video w/ over 20k views w/ absolutely no dislikes!!!!

if you ruin the streak, you're an ass

  • Harry Truman had listened this song in years 1940-1945 and he thought that Randy's right!

  • Don't wanna hurt no kangaroo, lol

  • so real for this time and now

  • Lol so true so true XD

  • It looks like he is about to sneeze for the whole video.

  • @killerguppy For his whole career*

  • @killerguppy its called cocaine

  • "Europe's to old " lol !

  • The song is a friggin joke people...lighten up...and yes, everyone it's true hates the US...the US is fcked no matter what they do.

I guess the best thing that will happen to the US is for China to become the top dog and become total assholes in the process, only then people will look back and kinda wish the US were back on top because they weren't as horrible

Ah, the joys of power and position

  • America's been invading since Columbus

We've genocided so many, it makes me cuss

We kick anyone, everyone under the bus

Who has the real courage & the guts

to disagree with the warmopnger U.S.

  • @warhater too bad columbus was from spain, and america wasnt even a country then, and our "genocide" was not near as bad as the ones in Rhwanda, and with the Nazi's

  • @warhater ohter than that, we've ever started a war once, weve just helped other countries, honsetly if we didnt join world war two, the world would be a much different place

  • @samuelbhatch

Obama didn't start the war...he inherited it from Dubya.

  • @3ohs0unds

Didn't stop it either - in spite of the fact that that's the main reason he was elected.

  • south america stole our name? WTF! are you serious??

  • @laperez3 Haha. Yes, yes he is. ;)

  • @laperez3

No, he's not really serious. At least, he's not serious about a literal interpretation of the lyrics. The whole song is a joke about US foreign policy. But it's a serious joke, and a warning against nationalism.

  • everyone who likes it, gets it, ya dopes... it isnt just the catchiest tune you can sing along with while you work

  • Another evidence that Randy worked for the CIA, although he was paid by Disney.

  • its so true about u.s

  • I hope people realized he's talking about the U.S. I know it's obvious but some of the comments have me wondering....

  • well, its kinda hard to know that this is sarcastic. you know that it is, cause its randys style. but you wont know, if you dont know the guy. some of the american folks dont even know, they are like, yeah drop the bomb! go randy! but he actually makes a fool of that kind of american. they dont realize that he portraits the american gorvernment as a war machine. it ridiculous to bomb paris. but he says, might as well, we are fucking it up anyhow. its good to hear that not all americans want war

  • i always thought that was kinda the point, he doesn't want the dumb people to get him, cuz they'd be mad he's making fun of them

  • @Loupland Not even most. Sorry I replied to this after the approximate incubation period of a baby, but I thought I might clear up our international image. Many people in America want war and are hateful and bigoted, but that's incredibly true elsewhere as well.

  • @colbyblogger

Well, im Dutch and we are with 16 million people...

If you filter out the females, the too old and too young, You would end up with like.. 10 people in your army... I can assure you... we don't want war!

I geuss we all hate alot, but not everyone expresses it. Civilisation, means controlling your beastly instincts. Like, "Don't act upon feelings, without thinking". Sure we hate "the others", but deep in our heart we also kinda understand them. Don't portray humans as bloodthirsty

  • @Loupland

Actually, we all secretly DO want war... we just don't want to say it, because we're afraid people won't like us. ;)

    Just kidding.

For me, it has less to do with 'do I hate this country?' and more to do with 'by sending our troops there, are we freeing innocent people from tyranny?'

It may be about oil for politicians, but for citizens, it is about right and wrong, and always has been. That is the way Americans always have voted: Are we saving innocents, or hurting them?

  • lets drop the big one and see what happens -- lyrics so cynically true, lennon surely adored him

  • unamuno42. It's thoughts like that which make this song so true.

  • @Achevaliermalfet

Yes, because clearly, the leaders of the former Soviet Union, NK, and Iran are humanitarian, tolerant, freedom loving philanthropists - not the power hungry, tyrannical dictators that their actions would imply.

  • @samuelbhatch To many countries American looks power hungry and tyrannical. I don't think it is but i'm biased.

But thats not important. My original comment wasn't saying that these places are free loving and wonderful. Simply that Nationalism is stupid. It doesn't matter: US, Soviet Union, NK, Iran... Lets fight more over lines drawn in the sand. Thats _exactly_ what this song is saying.

  • sounds more like the theme song for north korea, Iran, Syria, and the Old Soviet Union.

  • Theme song for the Dubya administration!

  • @3ohs0unds And the Obama administration! Woohoo for unmet deadlines and waffling on whether or not we should add more troops or pull them out!

  • Young song writers take notes (lol)!!!!!

  • @ExodusPessoa our teacher made us write an eassy about this song...

  • Randy Newman is brilliant! I saw him on this tour and he was amazing!
