u can do this in real time on any gt200 gpu powered nvidia card now, raytracing and all. search "NVIDIA OptiX samples" one of them does a julia set in real time, but my gtx 295 does it in low-res 640x480 at like 25fps so dont expect miracles (although 25 is a miracle in a way)
