I don't know that I can except that though. When I first got the game, I started off really good due to Melee. So I figured these people in the tourney would have picked it up just as quickly, if not faster than I did. Considering that they have "pro like" status in most everyone's opinion.

Don't get me wrong, they are both really good at the game, but there's just something missing in my opinion. Maybe it was due to the fact that they hadn't had the game long, but they didn't make good use of the side step dodge thing. And for some reason, they can't anticipate for anything. I guess you just have to get a handle of it first, because it has been changed quite a bit.

You wouldn't believe how many times I heard that at this tournament, with all but 2 guys having ZERO playing time with the game prior to the tournament. And then they tried and it didn't work. Just to clarify something; there are three weight groups: light, average, and heavy (tank). Pit is placed in the LIGHT category, this is one of the reasons he has such a good recovery. And for bowser.. hes in the heavy category of course, thats just a gimme =]

the fact that you hate pit doesn't mean anything. someone out there can hate any character so every character is hated. pit is good and as you said will dominate bowser if he is used correctly. He is very well balanced. ex: meta knight has the best attacking speed/recovery in the game but pit is like meta knight put a lil heavier, more damage, and more range

Both of these players were great. Pit made a few accidents, though; he could've saved himself if he didn't use that swooping move. He could also angle his arrows (I haven't played it, but I've seen it done). Gimpyfish was great as Bowser (I don't really know the "champions" of Super Smash Bros. besides him and Ken), and it takes a lot of skill to become a pro with such a slow character. This was an equal match in my opinion.
