  • You should make a few clips.

  • did you make this song up? or whats the name of it?

  • @nodan231 It is one of the songs from edward scissor hands

  • @crimsonfairytale Okay, thank you

  • As much as I love Burton this wouldn't work.He would make the story too dark and would use predictable actors.I for one love Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter but I don't like that they now have to be in EVERYTHING he does.As someone whose read the oz books I just can't picture either of them. That said great job with this^^

  • you CAN'T do that. put the name of Him near this shit.

  • At first I thought I conceived this idea on my own, only to find a multitude of Wizard of Oz and Tim Burton fans demanding the same idea. I cannot think of a movie more up his alley. It would be a blockbuster, especially if he brought Johnny Depp in for the Scarecrow (perfect fit, right?). Also, you did a fantastic job on making the trailer. This must have taken time, and is definitely a Hollywood quality teaser.

  • I fuckin knew eventually it is gonna come.

  • wow i didnt know this was by tim burton XD now im going to be happy to perform this in my drama class that is if i get in it

  • whats the german title?

  • love it! i think he will for sure be making it....and i think it will be great

  • that was really awesome and they should use it DEFAINTLY!if they ever did use it i would say it would look even awesomer if they put clips of the movie after it!

  • That was awesome :D

  • i love this! Deffinately Tim Burton all the way! But of course Johnny Depp would have to be in it of course and be either the scare crow or the tin man....im thinkin scare crow :D sooo cool

  • @hgirl1998 Yeah, Scarecrow is the wackiest and most versatile, which (as we saw in the mad hatter and Willy Wonka) is a perfect fit.

  • omg I can't belive tim burton is actually making this. I love his films, but I'm afraid to watch this one. Why? because the 1939 was a classic

  • @beauxbatonsboy It's fan-made.

  • He's actually making this.

  • Winona Ryder is Dorothy, and Helena Bonham Carter is the Wicked Witch of the West

  • What is the tittle of this tune in the background?

  • Id go Tim Curry for the great Oz :)

  • Very nicely done!!

  • umm, this is AMAZING. I seriously felt like I was about to watch a Time Burton Wizard of Oz... great job :D

  • @iloveoperons bahh. and by "Time Burton," I of course meant "Tim Burton"

    you get the picture. :)

  • I should like to see Tim Burton direct a movie version of "Wicked"; I think he could have a lot of fun with that.

  • Here is my idea of a perfect cast for the movie: Dorothy: Zooey Deschanel Scarecrow: Johnny Depp Tin Man: Crispin Glover Lion: Alan Rickman The Wizard: Christopher Walken Wicked Witch: Helena Bonham Carter Glinda: Scarlett Johansson Lollipop Guild Leader: Deep Roy Aunt Em: Michelle Pfeiffer
  • This film will made and release in 2014 I'm afraid can't wait watch the others like the 1939 film

  • @domingoreyesv Dakota Fanning...really?! She's 16 and even if she was younger she would never fit Dorothy's persona. Fairuza Balk was perfect for the role of Dorothy in Return to Oz.

  • This was good and it very burton like.

As for what I think of a remake of the wizard. To tell the turth I dont think he can pull it off. The orignal is a beloved classic and just to poular. Dont get me wrong, Burton has made some good movies: Ed wood, Big Fish, Nightmare before X-mass and few others. However his remakes are rather weak conpare to the orignal.

  • This is actually very good! And it's so Burton! You really should send this to him or Helena! One of them is bound to see it! lol

  • the music sounds so wicked!....I LOVE IT

  • Christina Ricci?!?!...you DO realize that she's 30 now, and Dorothy is only age 9...at the latest.

  • @Beatty003 how about dakota

  • There already remaking one Robert Downey Jr is gonna be the wizard =w=

  • THIS IS AWESOME! I think Johnny Depp should be the scarecrow

I think they should get someone less famous to play dorothy

  • THIS IS SO AWESOME!

  • I trust you're implying that Depp would play the Scarecrow, right? If that's the case, his dance double HAS to be David Elsewhere! *lol*

Can you imagine "I am OZ, the great and powerful!" coming out of Christopher Lee? O_O

  • @vleek07

    ...oh...cool...2011....

...epic blonde moment on my part!

  • i personally think what they should do is reuse the old scenes, and then make it seem more 'modern' like, someone watching the old wizzard of oz on television in black and white or something then cut to a real modern version of it.

  • THAT WOULD BE THE ALL TIME COOLEST THING EVER!!!!

seriously send this to him. he needs to do it.

THE WORLD NEEDS HIM TO DO IT!

  • @WolvAngelKat13

he... is... doing it. that was the point. projected to come out in 2011.

  • hi! i love your video!!!!!! and i want Tim Burton remake of this amazing movie,i think will be so great!

if you have facebook, please enjoy my group

(I want Tim Burton recreate 'The Wizard of Oz')

  • fuck that peace of shit Tim Burton doesn't deserve to touch the wizard of oz why does he need to ruin my god damn childhood memories

  • What's the song for it?

  • was that steve buscemi in there? lol

  • Nice going...you "done" a remake? lol fail.

  • @sunburnsummer

Its not that it was a musical, its what it did for the American public that I like it so much. It let people escape from their troubles for a about 2 hours. They only had to pay a dime to get in and for 2 hours they were taken away from their troubles. No other film has, or can, do that again. And you cant deny that. Its not just a pop culture reference its a pop culture icon. Its not even my favorite, Ill get heated as you so put it when they remake Casablanca.

  • @sunburnsummer

Fuck you how about you respect a classic and dont try and let some fucked up director run it through the mud. It doesn't matter if you hate the fucking musical its still a classic, and should be respected. Im allowed to have a different opinion then you, or did they not teach you that in school. fuck maybe you should go take a few classes.

  • @sunburnsummer

How would you not consider it a classic? it was nominated for best picture. and only lost to "Gone With the Wind". Yeah of course they wanted to make money but thats the thing. they made it during the "Great Depression" I dont think the were saying man we are going to make millions at that time. You're full of shit man. get a grip on reality.

  • @sunburnsummer

Yeah im sorry I attend a university for a bachelor in geology and only work on set design because i like painting and theater as a hobby. I can see where some remakes are needed to make it better but films like the wizard of oz are on a higher lever than most films they are call "classics" and should not be touched just to get more money. I wouldn't think anyone would sit around an rewrite Macbeth or To Kill a Mockingbird just to make some money for that matter would you?

  • @sunburnsummer

A play and a film are two different things. With a play everytime you see it, something is different. I should know I work on my schools theater department as a set crew member. With film when its recorded its there so people from any generation can see it. Its not there to be remade and as a result ruined. I mean were would we be if not for great lines like Heres looking at you kid

Ill make him an offer he cant refuse

Frankly my dear, I dont give a damn

  • @GeoWing2

    to continue: Play it sam

    Huston we have a problem

    And of course

Theres no place like home and Toto, I dont think we are in Kansas anymore

I plan to not see these remakes, I find them to be a spit in the face on those who worked so hard to make Hollywood what it once was. Burton will ruin everything that Fleming and MGM worked so hard to make. It will be sold at hot topic and then forgot about and with it the classic it was made from. Of course your buy the merch.

  • @GeoWing2

    finally:

But you will not know what it came from. Your read the books. But you wont understand the musical. Your see it on tv before the remake comes out. And all say it looks nice but I want 3D I want the pretty colors and no substance. Im not just taking about the Wizard of Oz here Im talking about all the remakes coming out. Oz, Clash of the Titans, The Godfather, god help us if they redo Casablanca. Who am I kidding they will just to get a few more dollars out of it.

  • Read the original book. Then you will change your mind. The actual book by L. Frank Baum is DEFINITELY Tim Burton material. It is seriously that strange. I love the 1939 movie, but someone needs to pay homage to Baum's ORIGINAL story, and I think Burton is the perfect candidate.

Trust me. It is an extremely weird book. And a lot scarier than the Judy Garland film. But it's very good :) There's actually a SERIES OF 14 BOOKS in all.

  • @DuchessAliana

they have already did movie like the original from the silent one that came out before fleming's and there are multiple independents out there that have done it you just have to find them.

  • it doesn't matter if its like the book ore not the V. Fleming film is a masterpiece. most Americans watch it as a child. its a classic. I'm sure most of the people here watched it as a child before reading the books. the film is not just a pop culture reference its in history books. it has been engraved into our souls as Americans. its a film that shows us that better days will come. yeah its not the books but it doesn't have to be. it released people from there trouble if only for a hour or so.

  • what a way to ruin a classic. it will never be as good as the original because its the wrong time to make it.

The original was great due to the fact that we were in a depression ( fuck you we are not in one as bad as we were during the 30's) and people could escape from their troubles for only a quarter, not even that. Thats why its a classic this remake shit has to stop he sucked at Planet of the apes and he sucked at wonderland and wonka, Burton cant do anything original can he. not anymore.

  • Actually, if Burton made 'Oz' it would NOT be a remake of that movie. The TRUE original was a BOOK written by L. Frank Baum, which is almost COMPLETELY different from that of the 1939 film, and WEIRD enough to be ideal Burton material. Glinda is the witch of the South. The shoes are SILVER, not ruby. The Witch of the West is not green and is actually a coward. The Lion fights a giant spider. There are people called hammer-heads. Read the book; it is perfect for Tim Burton to adapt into a film.

  • @DuchessAliana

that's great but the fact still remains it wont be as good because we are not in the economic time. the whole reason why the V. Fleming film did so well was because of the price and it was an escape from people troubles.

  • I don't know..."Alice" is doing quite well, and given the fact that most people see movies for effects nowadays, if he does "Oz", it will probably do well too. Also, the fact that 3D is so incredibly expensive (not to mention movie tickets in general are incredibly expensive) would be a major factor.

But that aside, if you haven't read the original book, you're missing out. It's pretty awesome :)

  • @DuchessAliana

You said it yourself, "most people see movies for effects nowadays" just proves that writing and actual character development has gone out the widow. Its sucks because nowadays we could show someone taking a 2 hr shit and as long as its in 3D people will call it gold. Its a damn shame I miss the days where plot and good writing were the key to a good movie not 3D and popculture refrences.

  • this was not Burton. This is a impostor who does crappy work.

  • I think Zooey Deschanel should be Dorthy.... ?

  • it was made right the first time in color correctly there was a silent film first

  • i think its should be that chick from twighlight as the main girl (even though i dont really like her).

    johnny depp as the scarecrow

not quite sure about the tin man...

    Jorge Garcia as the lion

and robert downey jr. as the wizard of Oz

but not so sure of who could play the good and bad witch.....

  • The original 1930's movie was shit, Tim Burton's remake better be much better.

  • I use to not think the wizard of oz should not be remade but its f****** tim burton

  • A lot of people say the wizard of oz shouldn't be remade but the fact is with so many movies being remade these days just because it shouldn't be done doesn't mean it wont be done.

  • If he remade the Wizard of Oz, that would be so EPIC! XD

    I loved this!

  • Wasn't ruining charlie and the chocolate factory enough for him.. I can't watch that movie ever again without thinking of his shitty remake. Now its going to be Alice in Wonderland next whch i dont expect to be any better. If he ever did the Wizard of oz i would give up on humanity itself

  • @tallgiant89 he should do Mary Poppins and Helena Bonham Carter should play Mary

  • @tallgiant89 keep your shity opinions to yourslef. the new charile is way better.

  • way ahead of you on that.

hey too all the burton fans we should remake nightmare before christmas again, or edward scissorhands, and ed wood for that matter, hell i think its time for a beetlejuice remake too.

lets see how many people would get pissed if someone remade those movies.

  • so im not the only one that wants tim burton to remake the wizard of oz

  • I think the in the oepning we should see the inside of the torado and it's spinning and there are words coming up and stuff

  • Thats too much like Charlie and the chocolate factory with the spiraling chocolate with the title,

  • Nah, Dorothy is suppose to be 16 in the book

  • Tim Burton would fucking BUTCHER this classic. It's OK if he makes it more like the book, but seeing his movies, we all know he's gonna turn it into some weird-shit horror-type movie. Not saying he's a bad film-maker, I just don't think he's right to remake THIS movie. :D

  • seriously awesome =D

  • wow, sweetie, this is gorgoeus, can i ask you how you did it ? is it some kind of animation programme? im completely loving the idea of a burton spin on the old wizard of oz.....fabulous....

  • Tim Burton would do a good job on it. but PLEASE, an unkown for Dorothy! NOT Dakota Fanning OR Anna Sophia Robb please!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Johnny Depp could do a good tinman though. Or wizard.

    Isn't sci-fi making a demented version???????

Tim Burton would be better at it lol

  • Dude, seriously SEND this to Burton on a DVD disc! He watches it, loves the idea ad BANG! A new Oz movie based on the book, not the 1939 musical! I would seriously pay lots of money to see it! PLEASE send it to Burton, you'll thank me for this later that i made you send this! If you won't, then i will because my friend, this is amazing!

  • Hey thanks for your comment, I think I will send it but when you think about how much junk mail he must get, the chances of him replying or even looking at it is slim! BUT who knows!

  • did you send it

  • Where did you get the music to this and what is it, it sounds familiar.

  • i think it is from the series of unfortanute events trailer

  • Edward Scissorhands, DUH!

  • seriously DUH!

  • Paul Giamatti for the cowardly lion!

  • yes 100% there! he'd be amazing for it!

  • cool

  • wow! that was really cool! what program did you use to make it?

  • Thanks, Its all done using stop motion and then edited in After Effects, very simple really, people think its really complexed how its done!

  • i loved it but common!

who would redo something as perfect as the already made film?

  • Well, he's re-done perfectly made films before now *coughs* apes *ahem*

But he couldn've really done something with this. Or Alice In Wonderland. And i love the credits

  • trei but i havent seen apes. and charlie needed that fatherly twist

now that i think about it he would do it justice

that AND alice (id pay buko bucks to see that!)

  • He's doing a motion picture production of Alice in Wonderland with Disney.

  • it's really not that great. I love it, but I think it got so much attention because it was the first film to come out in color.

  • i woul love to see that

  • Excellent intro... Yes, that would be an awesome remake

  • omg that would be wicked if he made the remake! o.o

I'd go see it a million times at the theater!!

  • that would be a great movie.

  • That would be so awesome if Tim Burton made a twisted remdemption of OZ!!!

  • God damn, that would make me squeal with happiness...

  • Judy Garland was NOT 8. She was 16!

  • Why would anyy one think she was EIGHT?!?!?!?!

    That person was WAY off!

  • Well, she is in the books.

  • *wistfully wishes for a tim burton remake of the wizard of oz*

  • plus, really great intro, congrats!! u did a wonderful job

  • really good job, it WOULD be wonderful if burton did it again... it would be absolutely awesome

  • what do you mean again???

  • Um...hey, here's a wild idea. How about you send your idea to Tim Burton! Also send him eveyone's reaction to this(only the good ones) and maybe he'll take the idea. Although you might not agree what i will say right now, tell him you don't wnat him to pay for you idea! Ya, NO money but hey, you idea might be on the big screen. Oh and i LOVE this idea! And i agree with some people above of it being CLAYMATION, not live actors. Again, 2,795.5 thumbs up!

  • badass!!!

  • Nice intro and great idea!

  • I wish I wouldn't have saw this because now I am hoping and praying for Tim Burton to do a Wizard of Oz remake. Probably won't. :l Just like I want somebody to do a Clue remake. The game, Clue. There was a movie made of it. Very funny. I wish someone could do it again because the other one was short.

  • Would love to see a Burton Wizard Of Oz, but I want CLAYMATION! I am weary of a live action remake... Bottom line is, I couldn't see many of today's popular actors fitting into the roles well... and the project would be too big budget to use unknown leads. Heck why not just Hollywood-ize the thing and cast Lindsay Lohan & Ashton Kutcher (as the dumb scarecrow), then the witch, (Paris Hilton?) add a modern twist: witch is Kuchter's ex? Can I sell that plot?

  • well done, very creative.

  • Because Judy Garland was 8 when she filmed Wizard of Oz....

  • She was sixteen!

  • Yeah... that was sarcasm.

  • That would be cool if there was a remake of The Wizard of Oz. I would love to see one but not with Johnny Depp in it, PLEASE. He was horrible as Willy Wonka.

  • do you know how hard you rock. damn. you're my hero. O________________o (know what'd be great, if tim saw this and decided to do it O______________________________________o)

  • i like this video a lot. great job!

  • I would love to know how you did the animation on this. Special program? It's wonderfully made-I like it a lot. I think the music is...Edward Scissorhands?

    That's cool. :]

  • Where's the rest?

    It was funny though!

  • o wows!!!!thats amazing!! your really talented and i hope you do well in university!! good luck :D

  • How did you make this video? I am doing animation and I want to get the same effect. Please reply asap....thank you! And brilliant job btw, my dream is to see Burton make his own Oz movie! Love Nicki x

  • lol,that's so funny

  • Innovative!
