  • lol how do you know this to make this RC Heli ? Do you work in some company where made heli ?

  • nice! i think i might do that with my CP3 i'm getting in a few days!

  • uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

  • hi i am 12 years old and have gone throuh the e-sky lama-v3 and can fly it as agresive as the helicopter is allowed to and i am wondering if you think i am rede for the honey bee cp2?

  • Hey!

Great idead with the ping pong balls... but listen, how about some high intensity LEDs inside each ball? You overcome the problem with directional light and also your balls (I know this sounds funny) will glow brighter..

One LED per ball will do, it's enough... Try it... You don't need too much of a battery to test it...

    Just a suggestion...

  • u're great night!... ;D but a green and a red LED could be better....what do you think? :P

  • Yep, I fly in the dark with leds. They are pretty directional and really you cant see them. Good thinking.

  • This is such a good idea!!

  • Thanks

  • is this honeybee FP?

  • No sir, this is a CP2. (Collective Pitch)

  • Dave, I love your videos. I searched through all the questions and havent seen it asked yet and it may sound like a stupid question but: how did you make that tail LED Flash? Is it possible to make it flash like a strobe? Many thanks in advance!

  • LEDs arent bright enough, and are pretty directional, not so suited for Night flying, These are Incandescent 5 volt bulbs and yes I made a blinker circuit. I think you can see in in my history of night flying video or others, not sure. Radio Shack sells a chip that can make LEDs blink or light bulbs.

  • Awesome! I know you get so many messages a day, I really appreciate you answering my question.

  • Hey Dave your videos are a realy good learnig tool for rookie pilots like me. I've got a good saying to help remember the left and right thing "There is a little bit of Red Port Left in the bottle" Which always seems to be the case when ya want to have a drink!

  • Thanks very kindly. Haha. We think alike. I always tell people Port Wine is red, and that is always the left wing.

  • is it stable? if not then can u tell me a heli that is stable? please reply.

  • This is a very stable heli, for a tail rotored helicopter. No helicopter is stable and can just be parked in one spot without constant attention to all 7 controls on the tx by the pilot. Coaxials are more stable, like the MCX or Blazing star.

  • i meant does it go round and round not spin around just going round and round where u cant really control it oh and if i cant really afford those helis is it ok if i get a honey bee? sorry i have so many questions ^^

  • The tail rotor keeps it from going round and round, but is the hardest thing for most people to learn to control. See my 9 heli flying tips for more but the HB MK3 would be a good choice.

  • honey bee with balls........im going to spray paint my balls......lol

  • wered you get the balls for the honey bee

  • They are Ping Pong balls. Also see my video response video above, called Stealth Helicopters, you cant fly them if you cant see them.

  • Have you ever had a heli take off into your antenna or ribbon on it?

  • No sir. I came close, but like my 9 rules of thumb and tips state, I always remind myself that I have to fly the helicopter, not let it fly me.

  • how long does the battery last n the honeybee

  • About 8 to 10 minutes.

  • It won't cool enough or be able to get enough air through it, and it would make the heli more tail heavy, as these etr motors get extremely hot. I've burned out 6 this year. Best bet is still heatsinks. Good thinking though.

  • dave how do you mount the ball to the tail

  • Well, I used Amazing Goop and a few of the carbon fibre rods from a broken landing gear and made some supports for the ball. The Blade 400 was easier because it has a bigger solid plastic tail fin. The HB CP2 has not much to hold on to.

You could run another support to a ball with the rods sticking into the ball? There is no set way, I guess.

  • Hey, sweet vid! I had a great idea. For night flying you could use the combo of the ping pong balls along with LED's. Put the LED's inside the ping pong balls! You would have much more surface area to see but it wouldn't be as bright....

  • Thanks. I may try that with one of my more powerful helis, as weight is an issue with the HB, and with the floats, etc, it is getting marginal. I don't fly this one at night much, but may with my new Blade 400.

  • wow, thanks dave for this brilliant info, my heli ... sadly is broken and im taking it back tomoro , and heres what happened... on my transmitter i have 2 switches to make it look like a real helicopter , that u can flip the switches to make the halicopter do something, and one of them had fallen to my controller (i dont no how) and it has short-circuited my mother board and scrambled my tail rotor, and not it doesnt work :( once agen m8ey :D brill vid !

  • Thanks. Sorry about your problem with yours

  • no worries buddy, i gave it back to them, and they appoligised and gave me a new controller with the reflex simulator add on ! brill! lol

  • I like the idea of fitting LED's to my ESKY Honeybee 4 Ch, would you recommend a way of doing this?

    Regards,

    Roland Burn

  • Use the same setup as my planes and put the red and green lights on the front skids, and a white or yellow on the tail.

  • does the paint on the baldes mess up the blade balance a little?

  • Not at all.

  • hey i think its gunna rain. LETS GO FLY!! lol

  • i was just about to type that lol

  • hey i think its gunna rain. LETS GO FLY!! lol

  • Dave,

Would you consider doing a video discussing blade pitch adjustment/checking on the Honey Bee. I have seen a good video discussing larger helicopters, but the linkages are a bit different on this puppy.

    Thanks,

    Pud

  • Stay tuned..

  • tha6t sucks it rained grea flight though great orientation i always paint one skid different so i know which way i am going

  • Thank you very kindly. When flying helis, we need all the help we can get.

  • gonna try the red/green method tommorrow...never heard of that before. but is seems so easy to stay oriented this way. great info right here !!!

  • Thank you very kindly. When flying helis, we need all the help we can get.

  • good work mate great video just like all your other ones

  • approximately how many r/c 's do you have

  • I've had hundreds. I have about 30 right now, mostly gas.

  • Thank you so much!

  • gosh this is so helpful..THANKS ALOT!

  • Good idea, Dave. I need all the help I can get when I'm flying and this will help.

  • cool video. Helpfull as well.

  • Thank you all. I want you to be successful.

  • Do you think that extra spray paint adds extra weight? I noticed that you had to add that tape to the rotor to counter the spray paint on the other side of the rotor!

  • The blades were a little out of balance anyway. The paint is light, but that is okay. It looks really good flying in bright sun and is worth it to see during 3d maneuvers. The Honeybee easily handles the weight and even can fly my camera around.

  • Great video, very helpfull. Thanks and keep up the good work. 5 stars.

  • Cool
