  • do any one have any poetic description that describes the game of stefan edberg? I feel on top of the world and there is no better spectacle in any sport than an in sync serve and volley service game of stefan edberg.... Love you mate..

  • Nobody approached the perfection in volleying, except Edberg.

  • @ClausvonBulow FUCK YEAH!!!

  • where was this Master played?

  • Madison Square Garden, NY from 1977~1989. The following year the event moved to Germany.

  • I can exactly how Federer modelled his game after Edberg

  • The famous Noah shot between the legs at 4.27... and a winner to boot !

  • Edberg made volleying look so easy.

  • edberg playing with an adidas frame?

  • This was the second tournament (after Japan Open I believe) where he tried a new Adidas racquet (this was around the time when his Wilson Prostaff sponsorship ended). Apparently, Edberg did not like the new racquet and never tried another one until retirement.

  • that's kinda scary. he played phenomenally.

  • edberg can volley with his forehead

  • he does have that high nordic forehead advantage.

  • @ysdwdy after Adidas, did stefan come back Wilson racket, really???

  • In fact Stefan would say he never changed his racquet during his career other than one time where he tried out a new racquet for a tournament or two. After firmly establishing himself as a superstar (w/ 90 Wimbledon win) he received a new Wilson sponsorship, and used the same raquet with a Pro Staff Classic 6.1 (disguise) paint job for about a couple of year. Thereafter, he went back to the original make up he always played with.

  • This is from the masters of 1986, not ´87. Edberg won 4-6, 6-3, 7-6
