  • When I sold my SS. I was hesitate to buy a Marauder because of the low end torque. Until drivers from tthe Marauder club told me wht to do. Now I'm loving it. The SS was my dream car. And still is. But I'm loving the Marauder. And I'm a Chevy guy. This will be the only Ford that I will own. Lol

  • @kuhndog52 Yea I know wht u mean. They pretty balanced out. But the Marauders came out wit 3'55s rear gears. SS came out wit 4'11s. If u switchout the 3'55s wit 4'10s or 4'11s. The Marauder does a 0-60 in exactly 5 to 5.5 secs. It will take care of the low end torque problem.

  • There are alot of idiots that are commenting on this video. If you don't know the right facts then don't say shit, impala's 260hp stock and trans am's have around 350 and weigh about a ton less, the driver in the t/a can't drive and that's why the impala was able to keep up. That t/a was pushing at least 380rwhp with the setup it has in it, dual supercharger? 4500hp?? You must be a serious dumbass to make anyone believe that!

  • @baller48050 I don't think so man, bone stock the trans am has over 300hp I think, plus it weighs 800-900 lbs less. The Trans am SHOULD win tho it's got the LS1 and goes 0-60 in like 5.0-5.2 seconds. The impala is 6.8-7 cuz its fuckin heavy, I got one. Once the imp gets rollin past 60 is when it takes off. But the Trans Am only has 15 ft-lbs more torque than the impala. I'm actually lookin to get an 02 Trans Am and I would be set. I think the Ws6's are bad ass rustang killers.

But yeah ur prolly right cause of the weight and yeah past 60 u hit the gas and it goes like u just started from 20. The 02 would definitely be a great buy. amazing car as well

  • @baller48050 The Impala only has 260hp at the crank. To have 330hp at the wheels means you would have between 410-420hp at the crank (20% parasitic loss through auto trans and gears). You would have to have a different transmission, flexplate/flywheel, driveshaft, and most likely rear diff as none of those parts are rated for that kind of hp stock. Have fun in imagination-land though.

  • @greeleykid lol, just because the case is the same on the 4L60E in both cars does NOT mean that the internals were the same. If you actually knew anything about these cars you would know this. The higher horse Camaro had stronger internals than the Impala/Caprice did. The LT1 in the Camaro was also much different. It's the same as the Impala/Caprice guys saying their car has a Corvette motor in it. They also used the LT1 and the 4L60E in trucks, but again there were many differences.

  • @Tombosdrunk the 4L60E was used in camaros and trucks before it was used in the impala, so you're basically saying they took a tranny they already had in production and changed how they made it just for one single car? and i realize the LT1 has differences depending on the application, but it's tranny doesnt..they made the tranny to withstand higher tq and hp applications so they could put it in a camero, corvette, sierra, impala, etc. and not have to worry about whether it'd blow

Did you not hear the sound coming from that car. Thats an extremely modified racer that even in stock form is making about 60 more hp and would still dust off the impala. I bet your one of those dumbasses who thinks dual exhaust adds 50hp. I guess the impala should put on some of those advance auto hood vents thats another 50hp!

  • Nope, for the most part, the 96 SS is comparable to a Naturally Aspirated V6 Impala lol The V8 Impala kills it in both 0 60, 1/4 mile and ofcoure the top speed shut off at 154mph.

  • The T/A has a better tuned racing engine. The Impala only has the LT1 motor while the T/A has a LS1 motor.
