@kuhndog52 Yea I know wht u mean. They pretty balanced out. But the Marauders came out wit 3'55s rear gears. SS came out wit 4'11s. If u switchout the 3'55s wit 4'10s or 4'11s. The Marauder does a 0-60 in exactly 5 to 5.5 secs. It will take care of the low end torque problem.

The impala is 6.8-7 cuz its fuckin heavy, I got one. Once the imp gets rollin past 60 is when it takes off. But the Trans Am only has 15 ft-lbs more torque than the impala. @baller48050 The Impala only has 260hp at the crank. To have 330hp at the wheels means you would have between 410-420hp at the crank (20% parasitic loss through auto trans and gears). You would have to have a different transmission, flexplate/flywheel, driveshaft, and most likely rear diff as none of those parts are rated for that kind of hp stock. Have fun in imagination-land though.

@greeleykid lol, just because the case is the same on the 4L60E in both cars does NOT mean that the internals were the same. If you actually knew anything about these cars you would know this. The higher horse Camaro had stronger internals than the Impala/Caprice did. The LT1 in the Camaro was also much different. It's the same as the Impala/Caprice guys saying their car has a Corvette motor in it. They also used the LT1 and the 4L60E in trucks, but again there were many differences.

Nope, for the most part, the 96 SS is comparable to a Naturally Aspirated V6 Impala lol The V8 Impala kills it in both 0 60, 1/4 mile and ofcoure the top speed shut off at 154mph.

95 trans am vs 95 impala ss that would be a different race and very close, The drivers knew the outcome before they even started you can tell. The trans am is 6 years newer and more advanced technology, like i said put a 95 trans am up to a 95 impala ss or a caprice with a LT1 and see the difference you may be suprized when the impala or caprice might kick its ass

@Localdrummerweb hell there is an impala i've seen run 8.90's in indiana and my 96 with 100k miles on it ran a 13.98 last summer which is pretty damn respectable for a 260hp 4000+ lb car I don't care what anyone who drives a damn mustang has to say about that. Ford has to supercharge anything they have to even compete with gm so i wouldnt go bragging on a mustang cobra

Nope, for the most part, the 96 SS is comparable to a Naturally Aspirated V6 Impala lol The V8 Impala kills it in both 0 60, 1/4 mile and ofcoure the top speed shut off at 154mph.

I used to own an impala ss, it was quick but it was also very heavy, trans am would have smoked that ss regardless of it being stock or not, its way lighter and the LS1 is more powerful than the LT1 seein as how the imp only has 265hp and the trans am has 320hp stock

u are definitely right about that one. The true impala legacy is gone until they make a rwd impala again. the new model's engines are great, all 3 of them, but the chassis does it absolutely no justice at all.

yeah, nothings better than the originals. But the Camaro and Challenger are very good renditions. The new mustang is a lot better than the past models and its getting a lot of hype, but when the Camaro hits the streets, its gonna be Chevy v.s. Ford all over again and i have to say, im with GM all the way :)

The T/A has a better tuned racing engine. The Impala only has the LT1 motor while the T/A has a LS1 motor.
