I love this player! Or should i say Loved...After 3 years of hard rocking with this thing, it broke. It won't turn on, won't charge...could be the battery but more likely shorted out somehow. It was a great player though!
As a side note. The bass output on these is pretty damn good even with cheaper haedphones. I have yet to hear what they are like with the BEATS by Dr, Dre headphones. :)
Im in the process of taking mine apart and altering it. First I have to fix where you plug in the headphones though. I only hear one side unless I bend the headphone jack a little. It should be an easy fix though. My only bitch about this player was with the speakers...its a bit bulky and heavy. But makes up for it with the GREAT sound quality going to your headphones and the loudness and clarity of the slide out speakers. Amazon has them for CHEAP! GO GET ONE..... OR FOUR!!

Get windows media player 11 ( It includes updates for the k5 ), connect the k5 with your usb and connect it to your computer, right click on my computer, properties, hardware, device manager, find your k5 ( should have a yellow question mark next to it, double click it, select update drivers, wait for it to finish, enjoy your k5
my mp3 only takes wmv videos, so i converted all my flv files to wmv. but when i put them into my mp3, it wouldnt play. it said "not supported format"

well if you go to now playing and then touch the button that looks like a square and has to lines in the middle a sort of mini menu comes out and in one of the options it says lyrics after you touch it it says lyrics on or off. I would like to know how to work that function but i dont know how

Yup, you get a pair of headphones. I have the 2gb version and i really like it, it will be great to have when travelling, i also have bought an ac-adapter with usb contact so i won´t need to charge it thru the laptop all the time.

Actually it doesnt. The reason why i'm not getting an ipod is that there is no radio tuner. Does it show pictures? doesnt show text or movies either... However, the clickwheel control can't be beat. very easy to scroll through many files. You have to tap or hold on the samsung.

You cannot add videos, and the picture viewing is a little flawed cause the screen is so small, but I have to say its the best mp3 player out there. sound and quality is unmatched.

Ipods are the crappiest players with a premium price. Ive had the mini, the 30 gig and the nano. The mini and the 30 gig's battery took a shit on me after 3 months and the nano's screen has already blacked out on the bottom half. Mp3 players were made to be small and portable. An Ipod video is bulky and heavier than most MP3's. Besides, who enjoys watching videos on a 4 inch screen??? I love Apple computers, but their players belong in the trash.

ok for al you noobiles this is the old yp-k5 mp3 player its atleast about a year old.
There is a new version out you idiots the samsung s5 it has a way better and smaller look but it comes with more funtions ...
It has the speakers games + pics + video + bluetooth (link it with your phone through bluetooth and it becomes your phone :D) and + with the bluetooth you can trade songs with anyone who has a phone with mp3's on it!! chek it out

dont buy this model it has a major floor with the headphone jack where it breaks and is unfixable i work retail and have seen this happen 6 times! a shame as this is such a great mp3 player :(

i got mine now boys. 4gb of pure love machine. ;), i really like it. nice sound and the speakers volume is pretty high. only bad thing i can say about it is the earpiece or what the hell its called. (im swedish) it was an ugly design and wasnt very nice to use either. but the sound rocked. anyway. il give it a 9/10!

Actually it doesnt. The reason why i'm not getting an ipod is that there is no radio tuner. Does it show pictures? doesnt show text or movies either... However, the clickwheel control can't be beat. very easy to scroll through many files. You have to tap or hold on the samsung.

hey i would suggest you get the sandisk sansa e200 it has video, music, fm radio, and a spin wheel for eazy control. It also has a slim design.

most phones is not louder than this.. then u have appearently not heard this with the highest volume on. and it is loud yeah. very very nice sound. listened to my friends when he got it couple months ago. il get my this wednesday.

On the T9, which does video, if you edit this file with wordpad:
C:\Program Files\Samsung\Samsung Media Studio 5\
hdd type dll \ YP-T9.prj
You wil find you can set Video and Audio encoding bitrates.. This means you can stuff more videos on your T9, in fact you can get music videos one to one the size of Mp3's if you use a 64000 bitrate video with 32000 bitrate audio.. Just don't change the framerate.. Backup the prj file before you do this.

Thabks for sharing that, I wouls love one for college. it would be cool, but i don't like that it's black and really futuristic glowy dark like. Unfortunately the Samsung headphones are not the most comfortable I've ever used, and even though they're better than most bundled items, I'd still recommend spending some cash on a decent set.

You cannot add videos, and the picture viewing is a little flawed cause the screen is so small, but I have to say its the best mp3 player out there. sound and quality is unmatched.

The speakers aren't detachable are they? The player looks awesome, but I wouldn't want to carry around the extra bulk just for the novelty of tiny speakers. As an option it'd be great.

Ipods are the crappiest players with a premium price. Ive had the mini, the 30 gig and the nano. The mini and the 30 gig's battery took a shit on me after 3 months and the nano's screen has already blacked out on the bottom half. Mp3 players were made to be small and portable. An Ipod video is bulky and heavier than most MP3's. Besides, who enjoys watching videos on a 4 inch screen??? I love Apple computers, but their players belong in the trash.

lmao an ipod is to big? well this player seems too bulky with those stupid speakers and ipods aren't the crappiest my friend has had a nano for a little under 4 months and his battery and screen r just fine maube u r just to rough with mp3 players.. this mp3 player should work for ya then since u can drop it., step on it, etc and it will still work ;)
