this is the year they won TOB atlantic coast. i'm pretty sure. they sound awesome and look great. amazing guard and rifles. truly fantastic. no offense to the young people today, but there is no comparison to the AHS band of today. it's kind of sad.
poughkeepsie, ny area. one of the greatest music departments in the country at that time due to a guy named Bill Sweeney and a couple of others. no joke, MANY MANY kids went directly into Juilliard and other top schools right out of graduating. i believe half the entire flute section went to juilliard after graduating. the 80's was truly he pinnacle of this great music dept.
i didn't grad in 84, but 81. my brother, who was in this band, sean motise, graduated in 85. he was a trumpeter. he had the big solo the year this band won the title. so i guess that was 83.
haha. i must know you pretty well then and saw you in CA in 1990 before I came back to NY to start my MM at Juilliard. Hilarious. Now, let me think...who could this be? don't tell me.
I'm on quads, left side.. awesome band! I'm stll a drummer/percussionist to this day thanks to the music program at AHS. RIP Mr. Sweeney... RJM

Cool, I was there. Class of '83. I'm sure if you graduated in 84 I probably know you. :)

I know you. I saw Sean in Atlanta during the Olympics. I know most of your whole family. Remember California 1990? How are you?
