those would be fun to mess around on for a while ... a long while. if you went to dci last summer you'd know that these were specifically made as practice pads that you can play on longer without getting as bored. duh fuckin' tards.
What an embarrassing gimmick. There will be schools or other organizations that will shell out a ton of money for this product, when their money can be better spent on real percussion equipment...and that's a real shame.
These sound so horrible... the recordings for dynamics as opposed to loud to soft don't vary in sound. Everyone knows if you strike a drum softly to loudly you get a different SOUND. But the samples are just a "soft hit" (which sounds horrible) with the volume turned up. The other effects and samples are so laughable and low quality they sound like they came out of a 1992 cartoon. I'd rather have a real product than this piece of garbage. What a waste...
Epic.

my friend told me these are not worth it.
they sure sound tight. but he says after you start ramming it will only pick up so many notes, and it won't even pick up perfect double stops

I would like to play one of these because they seem good, but I want to play one before I pay 600 dollars for one.

This seems like a useful tool for the indoor environment. I'm curious to see how many WGI groups will incorporate these things in 09.

But yeah, seriously... I can imagine these in a Cadets show, and I don't like it. I usually have a pretty pleasant imagination too.
