From experience I can tell you that the women in my last job worked less hours (most would stop by 5pm whereas most men would continue until 8pm). Overall women are just as intelligent as men, BUT men do make up a disproportionate number at the above average or genius level. Twice as many men have an IQ of 125 and above, and men with IQ of 155 and above exceed women by a 6:1 ratio. Kind of like how more women are good cooks, but most GREAT chefs are men.

Something else to consider, and something that I'm disappointed is not raised more often; if the "wage gap" is due to different choices (men and women are compensated fairly for what they actually do), and legislation is passed to raise the wages of females: there is now discrimination against men. In other words, the only way to raise female wages in such a scenario, where they are already fairly compensated, is to pay them more than they have actually earned. I expect this to happen, btw.

The entire concept of wage gap is a scam / comparing apples to oranges. Discriminating ANYONE by paying less for the same work has been illegal for decades.
If what you said is true then that is an in accurate method of comparing wages. You can't pool all men's money and all woman's money then declare a difference. You have to compare job to job. So make seperate pools for every different job in the world then compare pools of the same job. Because since different jobs pay different monies if a man working as CEO is compared to a woman working as cashier thats not accurate and vice versa. Multiple pools must be done to make it accurate.
And even then it may still require additonal work. Because consider the fact that more men are working in a particular feild then that pool will automatically be larger than the other pool. So mathematcians would have to use some kind of relative adjuster, you could not compare absolute pool value in this case.

From experience I can tell you that the women in my last job worked less hours (most would stop by 5pm whereas most men would continue until 8pm). Also, @4:16: women tend to prioritize flexibility; when you consider the classical structure of the nuclear family, where the mother is more likely to prioritize picking up the kids after school, the father works more to cover the family's wage needs.

The Wage Gape myth started because of a statistic that compared the annual salary of men and women, and women made on average 30 cents less for every dollar men made. It was never for the same job, but it was an average of how much made by both genders, regardless of what jobs they worked. Yet no one has EVER mentioned that flaw in the study's methodology for ages.

There are many women who choose to work part time (or not at all) to spend more time with their kids, and should be applauded for it, but that option is afforded VERY FEW men. In this day and age, most husbands are still expected to be the primary wage earner in the family, and most women still want to marry a man who makes more than they do. How many women marry down? Quite simply there are extra costs to the business due to employing women, not just there wage. Temp Agencies supplying maternity leave for one charge more to make a cut. The vast majority of feminist 'studies' ignore data showing women as bad or men as good, and only the 'men bad/women good' stats get used, and so on.

Well, England has been writing down its laws for over 1,000 years. The story was traced to Del Martin of the National Organization for Women in 1970. There is in fact a 1692 law against wife-abuse. Those children threw tantrums to get what they want. When they got older they became hippies throwing demonstrations instead. Overall women are just as intelligent as men, BUT men do make up a disproportionate number at the above average or genius level. Twice as many men have an IQ of 125 and above, and men with IQ of 155 and above exceed women by a 6:1 ratio. Kind of like how more women are good cooks, but most GREAT chefs are men.

Something else to consider, and something that I'm disappointed is not raised more often; if the "wage gap" is due to different choices (men and women are compensated fairly for what they actually do), and legislation is passed to raise the wages of females: there is now discrimination against men. In other words, the only way to raise female wages in such a scenario, where they are already fairly compensated, is to pay them more than they have actually earned. I expect this to happen, btw.

@bumba26 Well, you may be too angry, but we can certainly re-examine society. The government said, let's free women so they can be independent. But are we MEANT to be independent, or in couples? Then some truisms assert themselves: women are going to have the babies, they are going to have to care for them, and maybe the older system had benefits: a single male breadwinner in 1970 was earning more (because taxed less) than a two-income professional couple today!

There were no demands on governments to send up endless bureaus and hire endless cohorts of civil-servants to ensure "rights" for whiner groups. The woman could afford to stay at home, care for children more, and the children of the past were less neurotic and criminal than today. Men earn more money and work longer hours so that we can give our money to women anyway. Women demand that men pay them money for their affections. This extends from contemporary relationships to prostitution and even after divorce men are required to support women through alimony and children they are not allowed to see but 4 days a month through child support.
Male biological value is more heavily weighted in external utility and women's value is inherent.

job(outline/duties)= specific amount of pay
job + productivity + recognition= higher pay
job + time-off + being less productive= less pay or replacement
jobs consist of salary, commission, and hourly types, there are hybrid types that are made up of a combination of those. The wage gap doesn't address what type of jobs those are that women are getting paid less than men are.

Then I'm reminded of my frequent overseas buying trips to China / Indonesia / Vietnam were I find the poorest (yet most balanced) people on the planet.

78.5 cents per 100 cents. This needs to be elaborated. does it mean in total or for same job. If former then this is inconclusive since you cannot compare wages of different jobs. If it is for the same job, then just write a law that says. Everyone shall be paid equally for the same job. :)

It is elaborated - 78.5 cents earned per 1 dollar a man earns comparing the entire job pool of women (starting at 35 hours a week) to men (working 60 hours a week.)
The entire concept of wage gap is a scam / comparing apples to oranges. Discriminating ANYONE by paying less for the same work has been illegal for decades.

If what you said is true then that is an in accurate method of comparing wages. You can't pool all men's money and all woman's money then declare a difference. You have to compare job to job. So make seperate pools for every different job in the world then compare pools of the same job. Because since different jobs pay different monies if a man working as CEO is compared to a woman working as cashier thats not accurate and vice versa. Multiple pools must be done to make it accurate.

And even then it may still require additonal work. Because consider the fact that more men are working in a particular feild then that pool will automatically be larger than the other pool. So mathematcians would have to use some kind of relative adjuster, you could not compare absolute pool value in this case.

The employers in these two fields don't hire men, where possible, because of the public myth that men are violent.
