The big three USM battalions were the main effort, the army had the side lines. This is another story of Belleau Wood or Argonne. 90% of the effort was USMC. We can be trusted to get shit done, hence why we got the center front.

Philippine surrender of 110,000 men, Camden and Blandensburg to name a few.
The US Marines stood their ground at Blandensburg, while the US regulars and militia fled and let the brits torch washington in the war of 1812. The US capital fell 2x in a row to the enemy thanks to the us army.

The BRO had a foward unit that was stationed in Germany, seen it with my own two eyes as I was stationed in Aschaffenburg with the 3rd ID, after the wall came down alot of the bases were closed. Then units moved back to the states eg. the 3rd is now at FT. Stewart, when I served the 3rd HQ was in Wurzburg.

my own experience in Iraq mirrors that of Bellau Wood 1918.
I spent 7 months in the field securing Mosul and expediting the end of the war and the hand over of the city to the IA.
My AO fell into the hands of USA. We didnt even leave before they fucked it up.
For 7 months nobody dared to fuck with us, but as soon as they saw ACUs and humvees, the attacks sky rocketted. Why? the morons left the Syrian border wide open to foreign fighters

Philippine surrender of 110,000 men, Camden and Blandensburg to name a few.

there is a big difference between USMs and soldiers.
If you look up the icasualties website and year 2009 OIF, around 1/2 of army casualties are non battle related.
The USMC lost 13 grunts that whole year to hostile fire and IEDs. We're harder to kill, we dont die due to roll overs or vehicle accidents on base.

The BRO had a foward unit that was stationed in Germany, seen it with my own two eyes as I was stationed in Aschaffenburg with the 3rd ID, after the wall came down alot of the bases were closed. Then units moved back to the states eg. the 3rd is now at FT. Stewart, when I served the 3rd HQ was in Wurzburg.

CAB, 1st Engineers, 1st Sustainment and 4IBCT still at Riley. So the 1ID mission now is just to give money away to Iraqi's. @gigolo25 no but my dad was a first Sergeant in the1ID (he literally just retired 6 months ago) and my great grandpa served in the 3rd Marine division and took place in the assault and occupation of Iwo Jima during WWII, my oldest brother is a finance manager in the army, and my other brother is in the first marine division (infantry) and is going through training as we speak to become 1st Recon, and im waiting to go to MEPS myself so i havent served but i know about the military.

Ask one of my kids what they know about the military and 1ID, they'll say they know their dad serves in the military and wears ACU's to work. That's about it.
