  • Well if you're not Lenny then who the hell are you?

  • Very nice interpretation of the piece. You don't happen to know where I can find tabs for it? Or at least a tuning?

  • i have never even liked the southern style music but this is one of the most beautiful things i have ever heard

  • It totally sounds like "Over the Rainbow" played by some Mongolian nomadic instrument.

  • well done! i love the "headstock" and tuners and sounds absolutely terrific. glad there's a handful of other simple fellas out there.

  • @brianisbrain Yea, "headstock" is right! Ha ha. Pretty cool.

  • man i love you! i'm so glad to know there's another loon out there like me!!!

and GREAT job on this song!!!!!!!!!

    what tuning???

  • Sounds great. How are those strings tuned?

  • VERY GOOD

  • Nice !

  • Perfect

  • way cool!

  • that great!!!!

in building my first one, where can I find tabs ?????

  • Tabs?! You see any damn frets on that thing?

  • Hi Sam,

Thanks! The neck is poplar (like you can pick it up at Lowes.) Red Oak would be great, but just personally, I like a softer wood because it's easy to shape. All options have a trade-off, I suppose. The tuners are ebony bass tuners that I picked up on eBay (about a buck a piece.) Best of luck and post a video when you're done!

  • @ksprague Poplar is underrated. I think I'll try one of these and I'll probably use poplar. It's easy to work with and it's a decent wood. I dont care for the oaks. Open grain, splintery stuff. Maple or poplar seems like a good cigar box neck.

  • @coronet67 oak is fine if you sand it

  • @talc89a Oak would work and it's a good hard wood. I think I was thinking of shaping it. I've made some guitar necks and I use hand tools to shape the back of the neck. If (when) I make a cigar box guitar I would probably round the back of the neck a bit and although I have never tried oak for a neck I think its tendency to splinter might make it harder to work with.

  • Hey,

You just blow me away....I would like to make a CGuke with an open headstock. What did you make your tuners out of? And, what wood is you neck? I have some nice red oak. What do you think? Great job,

    Sam in Wichita
