  • I'll buy 2 if Suzie comes with em lol.On a serious not, I got the "Globetrotter" package.Comes with a "Super Charger" that,in decent Aussie sun does as it says and charges the freeloader in about 4-5 hours. Also got the AA/AAA battery charger which again works well from the USB plugged into the PC/ Laptop or pulls a near full charge for 2 AA / AAA bateries easily when pluuged into a charged Freeloader.A handy gadet for cycle touring me.I got pink too.Stops anyone wanting to nick it!

  • cool..

  • cool..

  • Plz take a look at the Voltaic backpack, a solar backpack withs have the same solar pannel-battery concept, only its better :p how? it is a fancy solar panel on your backpack, so you don't need to hook it up or anything. Got both the freeloader and the Voltaic Backpack, and i love them both!

  • I actually think the Power Monkey Explorer is superior to the FreeLoader as it has a higher capacity battery and solar panels that produce 200mA instead of the 150mA the free loader has. Its also more compact and completely waterproof. Sadly its about 5x the price :(

  • Great, tnx for the tip. And yes it is, as the freeloader has a load of weak points, and might break if not handled relay careful. But still sad that the technology is not so good that you can charge a laptop with any of these products, without buying a HUGE freaking solar panel.

  • you forgot to mention,150W solar pannel+regulator=£999.99 from maplin electronics, not including a 17AH battery needed to store the electricity and an inverter ,laptops are indeed hungry little F***ers when you want to do somthing processor intencive the average VIAO requires 95 Watts ,on you average inverter thats 10Amps so i hope its sunny, they are over priced for £ per Watt, bring the price down and we will use them, but as for the freeloader its ok for a garmin 60CSX GPS,BUT add a hand genny

  • Charge it FROM your computer

  • LOL and it's called the "FREELOADER"...how flipping cute. :D

  • i love the concept. i share your enthusiasm.
