If you're really a lore nerd you should roll an Alliance do starting zone quest chains and stuff. Also there are Dark Irons still with Ragnaros, an example of that was the attack on Ironforge Airfield which we had to repel. Then I arrest a dwarf in the Dark Iron Embassy in IF and then some other stuff happens.

correct me if im wrong, but i heard that they are changing the "immunities" in cata, by that i mean that if ur say a fire mage... u can hit fire elementals w/ fire spells, instead of the past where it would be immune to this.

@cotarna well thats good then, because i play a ele shaman (as one of my alts) and it was a pain leveling in places like nagrand where there were many quests involving nature elementals.... and tahts at a level before you even get lava burst... so i found myself fire shocking and meleeing them as an elemental shaman lol... was extremely slow =)

@SuperDuperSonicSpeed The boa gear you have now will be usable up until level 80. (with the new plan to let players level to 80 in Northrend and NOT in Vashj'ir or Hyjal this is pretty cool) So, no you won't be able to use them in the level 80+ zones.

@osi1 Guild repuation is a new system, if you do certain stuff (achievements etc.) you gain reputation for your guild and with this your guild unlocks perks.

@Bosinclaire If you mean Muradin, he didn't actually get stabbed...in fact, his "death" in Warcraft III was kind of silly, because Arthas pulled out Frostmourne from a block of ice and Muradin just kind of just fell over. Apparently, he got pierced by a shard of ice when the block exploded. Didn't make much sense at the time, so finding out he was still alive actually made a whole lot of sense.

@Bosinclaire Haha, not exactly. The king thought she was kidnapped, but she in fact willingly joined the Dark Irons, and became their queen by marrying the Dark Iron leader. In fact, when you kill him and leave her alive, as part of a questline she berates you about killing her husband, reveals she's pregnant with his child and vows revenge against you and her father. So whatever she's doing in Ironforge can't be good.

@fatmuffin321 Fire's good in ICC25 gear and higher. During TOC and the early days of ICC, arcane was THE spec to go for mages. Even with higher gear arcane is still useful for burst damage and Slow.

darkiron dwarves are enemies of the ironforge dwarves and hill dwarves. they do not get along at all. there is a neutral faction of darkiron dwarves, though.

@MatthiasYoung Wrong, that was in Warcraft: Legends 'Nightmares' in Cata Magni is turned to stone because he made a deal with the spirits to protect Ironforge from the Cataclysm (hence dwarf shaman). Because he is gone Muradin, Moira and Falstad join together to form a council for all of dwarf kind.

So i'm guessing some Dark Irons will be on the Alliance's side (sorta) but most, like these lot, will still be hostile.

Backtracking to BC: Patch 2.4 (Sunwell) launched March 25th, 2008. Patch 3.0.2, the WotLK opening event, launched October 14th, about a month before the expansion's release. That's a 6 month span.

Then in WotLK we had ICC debut December 8th, 2009, followed by Ruby Sanctum on June 22nd, 2010--also a 6-month span. You could treat RS like Sunwell & assume the Cata opening event will come in December, but RS acted more as a lore bridge between expansions than progression content.

Hmm...Correct me if I'm wrong (I haven't played mage since Classic/BC), but I'm fairly sure that Arcane is the top Mage PvE spec at the moment. That being said, does anyone think they're going to release The Firelands, like they currently have with Deepholm, as a zone at some point in the future? If I remember correctly, they're releasing a Firelands dungeon, but that doesn't deserve the same respect as a normal zone would. Finally, I believe this xpac will be out by late September/October.

Arcane was always fun for whatever you wanted to do. I played one (secondary main on and off) from Vanilla on. Only lately it's become much more powerful.

Fire mages would be using Frostfire bolts on those elementals.
