  • FAB song love it ...love it...love it. Made me wanna search for White & Torch 'The Collection'

    Found it and downloaded it.....Fantastic

  • HAHAHA! Sounds like Mike Flowers Pops.

  • yes he's like Scott Walker but he fuckin sings his guts out here...one of the best vocal performances of the 80's

  • sorry I didn`t whos asking you was a single only got the other four offcourse it was a long time ago.

  • As far as i remember this duo had 4 singles parade 1982, Lets forget 83 on the chrysalis label then for whatever reason in 1983 went to R.C.A and recorded the single Miracle and Bury my heart in 84 before vanishing forever absolout travesty

  • @gazborelli Plus the debut single "Who's Asking You?".

  • I agree wiyh you q123susie great music so wot if they sound like scott bros at least there music is good and soulfull..a fantastic sound so underatted ..absolutley fantastic

  • Thank you I loved White & Torch in the 80's totally under-rated and should have been bigger than what they were

  • I nearly passed out when I came across this!! Thank you very much for bringing back a brilliant memory!

  • It´s good, I like it, but I personally prefer Scott´s voice. It´s more elegant without loosing power.

  • I just came here from Rhydian's version, curiousity made me do it. Although I normally prefer 80's singing, I like Rhydian's (clearer) voice more.

  • i got this on vinyl somewhere....takes me back a bit

  • have you heard the rest of the samples of the waves album yet? can be heard on amazon.co

  • Me and my hubby both had copies of this from 1982, two years before we had even met! Brings back memories. Thanks for putting it on here. Rhydian Roberts version is too whiney! Hope it encourages people to seek out this version and get it re-released on CD

  • Thanks for uploading this.

I remember buying the single on vinyl, back in the days... Brilliant, brilliant song. Loved it then; love it still.

The B-side was another excellent song called 'Man To Man'. Can't find W&T on i-Tunes or anything. Any chance you could upload that too?

    Why aren't they megastars?!?!

  • Thanks so much for uploading this!! Brings back many memories, & I did buy the vinyl single.

  • Great song, and its just been covered by welsh singer Rhydian Roberts of x factor fame due out july 18, white and torch are pleased with rhydian's version

  • @eggy1962 Not surprised. It's brilliant.

  • goose bumps z

  • if you like this you might enjoy a remix i"ve just uploaded

  • Has anyone got a copy of the instumental 'B' side of the 12" single ??????????

  • @ohfergawdsake :I have the intsrumental "b" side ..do you want to buy it or for me to upload ??

  • @macksmix -------- upload please ! I have the vinyl somewhere, but buggered if I can find it. cheers.

  • @ohfergawdsake your parade insrumental is uploaded...i hope you like it cheers

  • @macksmix :-upload please, cant find my vinyl version, and it's the best instrumental going......cheers.

  • @ohfergawdsake as requested, I've just posted the Instrumental version "Parade II".

  • I remember buying this on a whim and loving it - there were a couple of great indie style shops in a shopping centre in Chatham, Kent and further up the streets I seem to remember that had less mainstream stuff. Remember buying Mad World by Tears for Fears there prior to it becoming a hit too.

  • I bought this when it came out- top tune !

  • Well the British public in it's infinite wisdom ( i.e. none) chose to ignore this absolute classic back in 1982. I bought the 12 " version of this song which if memory serves was produced by Paul Buckmeister and featured the Sid Sax Orchestra. Is any of their stuff available on CD?

  • It sounds great but it is a complete copy of Scott Walker. No offence, but wouldn't you listen to the original more quickly? I would, anyhow.

  • @Chelliemar11 Actually I think I've got the complete works of the Walker Brothers and Scott solo and listen to them regularly (maybe not so much Scott's recent "experimental" stuff) but "Parade" remains one of my favourite songs.

If more people find Scott Walker after hearing White and Torch - or vice versa - I'd be happy. I just think that this is a classic song that deserved to be more widely known.

    Thanks for watching and commenting!

  • White & Torch didn't receive the recognition they deserved. This is a brilliant song and the B side, Man to Man, is too.

  • I loved these guys

  • I've loved this song ever since it's release in 1982. Should have been an eighties classic- but great to find it here, saves me wearing out the precious vinyl!

  • anothe great song from 1982 just like scott walker 2 great bands the best thank you

  • I have this song on 7 inch vinyl along with Bury my Heart. This is the first time in years i've heard this song, so thanks to the person who put this on Youtube. It has always been in my top ten singles, mainly from memory i admit. I hope some day the duo get together again to release a compilation album with some new songs maybe!

  • Fantastic arrangements and vocals, sounds like The Walker Brothers reincarnated, thanks for sharing:).

  • Another great song from the 80's. Deserved more exposure. Brilliant vocals

  • What a song still sounds great after all these years.
