  • if you're going to post this, please at least say its in german.

  • "Nien spekonze Deutch"

  • I say you either use German title for the videos or you don't upload them at all! Using English titles for episodes of a documentary in German is misleading.

  • learn german then ...or change the video...

  • @autobahn303 lol fuck you

  • English subtitles please.

  • weuwhdcjksdckjhsdkv new york house hjsdkvhjnkmsd, nbsd bronx hip hop hwjefwdnvcksdb...

  • Was tunen Sie? Who are these people? Where is Ralf Hutter? Baros? Flur? Conny Plank (RIP)? Moroder? Synths did not start with an Access Virus in the intro too.

Modernisch? How about something good like Royskop? Robot Tanz gemacht? What? Warum robot tanz musik?

This is like Schlager electronic musik by these unknown lightweights including African mabata.

  • idiot.

  • Danke for up loading this documentary.

Vish I understand a single vord of it though, aacchh!

  • Hmmmmm.....I must of missed something because there is no interviews with any of the Chain Reaction guys.....where is Basic Channel, Fluxion or Monolake?

  • I dont care what language it's in, I'm glad I found this doc. that I was unaware of before. But Ok, fine yes, it would be a touch sweeter with subs. heh

  • Instead of moaning, learn another language, you relentlessly arrogant uni-lingual fucks

  • @spats67 hey fucktarrrd , people arent Uni-lingual fucks just because they dont know German !

  • @KDAWGx7777777 Yes you're correct, people aren't. However, people who use the term 'fucktarrd' can't even speak one language. Get back to us all when you adapt to your mother tongue. That isn't a euphemism just in case you're unable to work it out.

  • @spats67 HAHA youre channel sucks, work that out biaaaatch

  • @spats67 well english is my second language. ive learned german in school but i could never learn it right.

ppl know english because of all movies, tv series and music and until germans start to bomb us with something better then cobra 11 and rex you can forget about knowing german as third language

  • I cannot understand Italian

  • @superdave8x

    lol its german hahahaha

  • Comment removed

  • Whose is this movie? Pls answer me!

  • Man i do not what these people r sayin.

  • Anyone wanna throw some subs on this so we know what they're saying?

  • Can one of you Krauts translate this ?

  • This is more a doc about the rise of techno in germany beginning in the late 80's throughout the 90's. The title is very bad chosen. The documentation is somewhat intersting for someone being involved in the scene during that time but i would recommed "Kraftwerk, and the Electronic revolution" (here on youtube) to get infos on the history of electronic music in germany. Much better researched and in english! ;)

  • people, be glad that you can watch this video, thanks to this uploader. not every german speaks flowing english, exactly like me, and making subtitles is a lot of work!

germans have english in school, and should understand the most what they are talking about... and to the english, there are docus on youtube which are in english only! :P (History of House Music, for example)

  • when german culture matters, I'll learn german - who are talking about here - Beethoven, Rammstein, the Scorpions and.....Armin is dutch. Germans are good at making things, but whatever. However, they do support music, I'll give them that. They're the only ones supporting rock music at this point, since America has been taken over by rap and country assclowns.

  • Learn to speak German whining Anglophones

  • Vee haf vays of making you TALK!!!!!!

  • Its bullshit that you use an english title for a german speaking doc

    waste of time

  • @drumr828 i believe what actually happened was tht we have our youtube search set to "translate to english"

  • subtitles!!!!!!!

  • Yeah, Germany! Gods of electronic music! And Chicago and Detroit of course...

  • Totally shitty doc. Just a buncha unknown wankers going blablahblarrhg. Where's the music for chrissake?!?

  • ...Kraftwerk, Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schultz, J.M.Jarre, Vangelis....

these r the names... periode... the birthplace of electronic music : Germany.. without any doubts....

  • TOO BAD THERE IS NO CAPTION FOR ENGLISH...

  • "Juan Atkins (born December 9, 1962) is an American musician. He is widely credited as the originator of techno music" and he is a black person.

  • @beebah90 If you haven been paying attention, black people have make most of the new styles of music in America in the last 30-40 years.

  • @seroyer2 I hate the direction hiphop is going with electronica though. The latest stuff is unbearable (so sick of vocoders). America still has some growing up to do when it comes to electronic music.

  • @davism97 America produces excellent electronic music...it's just not on the Radio...and remember, Germans made David Hasselhoff a pop star so I don't want to hear shit!

  • I can't understand :( I want to. Somebody embed this PLZ

  • ugly english guys... ;)

  • rather NOT the history of electronic music, this is an overview of electronic dance music.

  • This isnt complete at all..

  • sub titles would be cool

  • t's a history of german electronic music, just making references to roots outside of Germany and thatfor not claiming completness.

Non-german speakers seem to misunderstand. I advise to eather change the title or provide english subtitles.

I like the doc, esp. the rare interviews with Frankfurt's DJ legend dag. But just mho.

  • agree, retitle, this is about EDM, not electronic music in general.

  • Yeah well don't understand German but sounds like this is more about the middle to late history of electronic music retold by people who don't know anything really but thier own tiny sliver of personal history. Where is Raymond Scott and guys like that ? Kraftwerk deserves enormous praise, but groups like Cabaret Voltaire and Front 242 deserve some recognition too for modern EM trends

  • Kraftwerk !!!!!!!!!

  • there is obviously as much bullshit misinformation about the roots of techno as there is about chi town house or just electronic in general...jeez..

and can someone translate? this is just blah blah blah sorry don't understand...

  • Could someone sub the German parts :P

  • very bad documentary...

  • How is it possible to call one self "electro-intellectual", when you don't know shit about electronic music? NO, "Popcorn" was not even close to being the first pure work of electronic music. Fix your knowledge, flaphead

  • Totally Right gordongonzola, history of electronic music goes back to Graham Bell who demonstrated how electrical signs can be converted into sounds; after that came oscillators; Pierre Shaeffer and his first electronic music laboratory in 1948 collaborating with Perre Henry while Ussachevsky was working in Columbia University Music Deparment and so on..

  • It was many years later that these techno guys apeared in the scene combining a very primitive use of rhythm 4/4 with the ultimate tools of electronic instruments and create techno, thing that i love, but in no way is vanguard music.

  • he just said that popcorn was the first em he personally heard, thats all...

  • Dude...

I think the only thing is that an english description on a german video is quite annoying... I'm willing to learn german, but until I do... I think it would be easier if description fit the video language... or at least could mention it...

  • The annoying thing is that most Germans speak English (woot go Allies). So it dosen't seem strange to germans.

  • why post the title and description in english? is it to force your "speak german" argument

  • There are so many who would love to hear what these German legends have to say. Subtitles would be nice.

  • ignorant fuck half the history of electronic music comes from germamy, and almost nothing comes from america or england(except house)

  • yeah. like even mad mike is a racist, cause he´s talking about kraftwerk as a big influence?

    this hating stuff is meaningless...

  • Actually you are the ignorant fuck here, check where and when the first electronic instrument was made, also find out who made the first digital music and how, and while you are at it: who first used turntables to make music? Germany gave us elektronische Musik via Stockhausen, compositions made exclusively with synthetic sound, but electronics existed in music before that. Innovation has taken place in many places including the US, France, Italy, and the UK. Ass-Head-Remove

  • @digimaton lets be honest though it pisses people off when they ask for shit in english, and the best electronic music atm is coming from german based labels like cocoon minus cecille etc.

  • @chillercm i think you are being too general, best electonic music? you really mean best electronic dance music, and even then you mean in one particular genre, even then, it's a matter of opinion, there are producers all over the planet making great EDM, in a wide range of styles, Germany is not the center of the universe, you should be careful with that, in case someone accuses you of racial superiority, which is still an unfortunate tendency in Germany.

  • @digimaton its not a tendency of germans its just where i live beeing frankfurt, we get the best bookings and have some of the best events in europe, im not german btw

  • you r so right I'm from middle east and we learn English their compulsory but in Europe & USA they didn't learn Arabic& that's not fair.

  • @TheLazerus

Trust me, there are many of us Yankees who wish we were taught to be multi-lingual. And trust me, many of us can't even speak ENGLISH well - it really is shameful. But honestly, cut us some slack. Linguistically, we're not behind, Europe's just advanced. Our language has more than a continent to itself. Your language has an area the size of one of our states. Necessity is the mother of invention, and you folks have more necessity on this front than we do. But we'll get there- I hope!

  • @TheLazerus Learn to POST THE TITLE IN GERMAN

  • @TheLazerus It's too difficult

  • @TheLazerus POSt the TITLE in GERMAN!!!!

  • popcorn?

    beatles

    bay city rollers haha

  • Dear user Rockyreggaeclark, can it be, that you don´t speak German and therefore you have only heard some band names, that were mentioned in this video? One of the guys in the video spoke about, how he grew up in a pure guitar-age when he was very young. In this guitar-age he was brought up with bands like the Beatles and Bay City Rollers. Those bands weren´t mentioned by him as examples for electronic music.

Learn German before making nonsensical comments and making a fool out of yourself

  • German--WTF!

  • If this is in Deutsch, PUT THE TITLE IN DEUTSCH!!!!!

  • They're speaking the language of techno. :D

  • lol yeah XD

  • @HarryW1234 thats true!!!

  • @fuckutube21 Louie Vega, Afrika Islam, Joey Beltram, Phats & Small - all of them are talking in English, without any German subtitles.
