I say you either use German title for the videos or you don't upload them at all! Using English titles for episodes of a documentary in German is misleading.

This is like Schlager electronic musik by these unknown lightweights including African mabata.

I dont care what language it's in, I'm glad I found this doc. that I was unaware of before. But Ok, fine yes, it would be a touch sweeter with subs. heh
@KDAWGx7777777 Yes you're correct, people aren't. However, people who use the term 'fucktarrd' can't even speak one language. Get back to us all when you adapt to your mother tongue. That isn't a euphemism just in case you're unable to work it out.
@spats67 well english is my second language. ive learned german in school but i could never learn it right.
ppl know english because of all movies, tv series and music and until germans start to bomb us with something better then cobra 11 and rex you can forget about knowing german as third language
This is more a doc about the rise of techno in germany beginning in the late 80's throughout the 90's. The title is very bad chosen. The documentation is somewhat intersting for someone being involved in the scene during that time but i would recommed "Kraftwerk, and the Electronic revolution" (here on youtube) to get infos on the history of electronic music in germany. Much better researched and in english! ;)
people, be glad that you can watch this video, thanks to this uploader. not every german speaks flowing english, exactly like me, and making subtitles is a lot of work!
germans have english in school, and should understand the most what they are talking about... and to the english, there are docus on youtube which are in english only! :P (History of House Music, for example)
when german culture matters, I'll learn german - who are talking about here - Beethoven, Rammstein, the Scorpions and.....Armin is dutch. Germans are good at making things, but whatever. However, they do support music, I'll give them that. They're the only ones supporting rock music at this point, since America has been taken over by rap and country assclowns.
@seroyer2 I hate the direction hiphop is going with electronica though. The latest stuff is unbearable (so sick of vocoders). America still has some growing up to do when it comes to electronic music.
@davism97 America produces excellent electronic music...it's just not on the Radio...and remember, Germans made David Hasselhoff a pop star so I don't want to hear shit!
Yeah well don't understand German but sounds like this is more about the middle to late history of electronic music retold by people who don't know anything really but thier own tiny sliver of personal history. Where is Raymond Scott and guys like that ? Kraftwerk deserves enormous praise, but groups like Cabaret Voltaire and Front 242 deserve some recognition too for modern EM trends
How is it possible to call one self "electro-intellectual", when you don't know shit about electronic music? NO, "Popcorn" was not even close to being the first pure work of electronic music. Fix your knowledge, flaphead
Totally Right gordongonzola, history of electronic music goes back to Graham Bell who demonstrated how electrical signs can be converted into sounds; after that came oscillators; Pierre Shaeffer and his first electronic music laboratory in 1948 collaborating with Perre Henry while Ussachevsky was working in Columbia University Music Deparment and so on..
It was many years later that these techno guys apeared in the scene combining a very primitive use of rhythm 4/4 with the ultimate tools of electronic instruments and create techno, thing that i love, but in no way is vanguard music.
I think the only thing is that an english description on a german video is quite annoying... I'm willing to learn german, but until I do... I think it would be easier if description fit the video language... or at least could mention it...

RACIST fuckin retard. stop talkin out of your ass.
BLACKS & LATINOS in AMERICA is the main origins of electronic club music. the other countries contributed in the 70s and 80s, but House, Techno, Electro Funk, Freestyle, and the rest comes from places like Detroit, Chicago, Miami and NY.
Actually you are the ignorant fuck here, check where and when the first electronic instrument was made, also find out who made the first digital music and how, and while you are at it: who first used turntables to make music? Germany gave us elektronische Musik via Stockhausen, compositions made exclusively with synthetic sound, but electronics existed in music before that. Innovation has taken place in many places including the US, France, Italy, and the UK. Ass-Head-Remove
@digimaton lets be honest though it pisses people off when they ask for shit in english, and the best electronic music atm is coming from german based labels like cocoon minus cecille etc.
@chillercm i think you are being too general, best electonic music? you really mean best electronic dance music, and even then you mean in one particular genre, even then, it's a matter of opinion, there are producers all over the planet making great EDM, in a wide range of styles, Germany is not the center of the universe, you should be careful with that, in case someone accuses you of racial superiority, which is still an unfortunate tendency in Germany.
@digimaton its not a tendency of germans its just where i live beeing frankfurt, we get the best bookings and have some of the best events in europe, im not german btw
Trust me, there are many of us Yankees who wish we were taught to be multi-lingual. And trust me, many of us can't even speak ENGLISH well - it really is shameful. But honestly, cut us some slack. Linguistically, we're not behind, Europe's just advanced. Our language has more than a continent to itself. Your language has an area the size of one of our states. Necessity is the mother of invention, and you folks have more necessity on this front than we do. But we'll get there- I hope!
Dear user Rockyreggaeclark, can it be, that you don´t speak German and therefore you have only heard some band names, that were mentioned in this video? One of the guys in the video spoke about, how he grew up in a pure guitar-age when he was very young. In this guitar-age he was brought up with bands like the Beatles and Bay City Rollers. Those bands weren´t mentioned by him as examples for electronic music.
