  • I saw the filmed performance with Ben and Anna a couple of weeks ago and they were sublime in their respective roles. Would have killed to see the London production so that I could compare but the Australian production was fantastic performance and set wise.

  • when ben lewis sings it kinda looks like he doesn't have teeth...

  • actually i don't now how long it has taken but it is now 35 times

  • I have listened to this song 34 times so far and still counting

listened to it almost all day

  • Ben & anna have a connection!!

    How old is Ben?:

    How old is Anna?:

    How old is Phantom?:

    How old is Christine?:

This is in Love Never dies♥

  • I love that little smile she did when he hit that 'night'...to adorable.

  • @deedeelizard this is a sitzprobe,it doesn't represent their actual performance. and these 2 haven't "ruined a fantastic musical". they have both earned rave reviews for their performances. so if you are an actual fan of the show, you'll probably like them. if you are just a fan of ramin and sierra, which in your case appears likely, then no you probably won't like them

  • Will be seeing them at The Capitol on Feb 12!

  • Why did they change the lyrics from the CD version?

  • Comment removed

  • So does this mean the Australian version is available on CD?

  • @unwritten22chick There isn't a cd of the australian production. There is a DVD though

  • @kendrarussell I pre-ordered it last night! :)

  • @unwritten22chick :) I don't think they are going to make an album of the australian cast. This was just the sitzprobe rehersal. some people are going to strip the audio from the dvd and use it as an album

  • I saw theses two last night at the Capitol. I loved it so much that I shall be returning in April to see it once more. It was an honour to be in the audience.

  • I like this version :) So much emotion behind the performance of both people involved especially Anna, can't wait to see this in the DVD :D

  • Wow!

  • ehh...i still like the London version MUCH better..-__-" more feeling and passion, telling the story.

  • @cubanita1101 Even though I still like the original lyrics better, I think the new lyrics at the beginning make more sense to the story than the original lyrics did. If I remember correctly, Charles Hart, the POTO lyricist, actually wrote the new lyrics in the songs. I'm just glad that this version of the show is doing much better than the London production did. I was so sad to see it close (even though I never actually saw the show). Can't wait for the DVD to come out in May!

  • I cant seem to like Ben's dark voice. I dont know why, i can see he is a great singer but yea i dont know. I love Anna tho <3

  • much better than the original lyrics. These are more honest. Even though I would never consider LND as the canon continuation of the original story, this at least attempts to justify it!

  • I like the opening much better now. :) Lyrics are far superior than the former ones.

  • did they cut out the final verse? I loved that..

  • @HavvahartKL even though it was cut out of the video, the final part of the song is still in the musical

  • @kendrarussell oooh okay. thanks ^^

  • This show always makes me feel so bad for Raoul and for Meg... the pair of them really got screwed!

  • @AceofGallifrey Agreed! Personally, I think they should have been put together instead of just left pitiful messes in the end.

  • @woahitsbrooke92 Oh man, no way. Of course, in my Head Canon, they're half-siblings so that's more than a little icky to me (I have a legitimate explanation for how this is possible, I promise).

  • Ben's librato is amazing!

  • wooow, Ben has a wonderful and penetrative. also i think the phantom needs a voice like that, cause it makes that Webber Masterpiece more authentic than with Ramin. I don´t say he´s bad, quite the contrary, but it´s over ten years after, why should his voice not be changed. Erik got older. normally the voice gets deeper the older you are. this is realistic. i hope they will perform it that way in germany when it´s coming here. i don´t say anything against the london version, maybe i prefer both.

  • @Zahncreme i could not agree with you more. i love ramin as well, but ben is just the love never dies phantom all the way. ramin is one of the most amazing singers in the whole world, but his voice suits the poto phantom, and ben's voice suits the lnd phantom ! i think that its really good that they used sierra and ramin for the 25th, and then they are using ben and anna for the film release :)

  • I wish I could have seen the original script with Ramin and Sierra. I much prefer them. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy Anna and Ben, but I just love Ramin and Sierra so much more. I was very glad they were in the POTO 25th anniversary. Wish they had been chosen to record the LND DVD as well.

  • I like the new changes. I was a little worried when they changed it to her being manipulating into seeing the Phantom, but it was redeemed in how she said she was tormented in her choice. I also like to think it's like some of the Phantom books I have read in how she went looking for him, and he made up that he was dying so he would make her stop. :)

  • This was my favourite song in Love never dies. It is so beautiful and I love that Christine admitted she loved the Phantom. I have always loved the Phantom and I was so heart broken she didn't chose him in the first musical. This ending broke my heart aswell. I love Phantom of the Opera It breaks my heart but I love it. I feel so bad for the Phantom every time.

  • Does this mean that there will be an Australian Cast Recording? I hope so!!!

  • @Zolyushka95 not sure about a cast recording, but it is going to be filmed on september 12-15 to be put on dvd for worldwide release

  • 'Beneath a mooonnnlesssss skyyyyyyyyy~'

  • @phantomphanmusic omg it is! you just blew my mind lol!

  • @CancerousPiesRTasty

The cemetery journey? Wait what? e_o

  • My God, 3:40 and on is so beautiful I almost shed a tear

  • @phantomphanmusic No, it isn't. Just clear your ears properly and listen attentively :) Of course you wouldn't deny a certain resemblance, but these are two different works, though both amazing. Only each in its own way :)

My God, what an orchestra here! It plays such beautiful music and it plays it so beautifully! It seems to me that I'm beginning to turn into little Gustave x)

  • The lyrics have changed, could you put them up if you can ?

  • Wonderfully done!!

  • "I stole to your side, tormented by my choice; I couldn't see your face yet trembled at tour voice".

  • @lizlk typo- should be :your voice

  • Comment removed

  • @lizlk Damn the instruments for being so loud that you can barely make the lyrics out! Good ear! I gave you credit to crazyboutladygaga for the lyrics since she was asking for it :)

  • @LunaAliCat Anna's diction isn't the best in my opinion. I saw her understudy Claire Lyon a month ago and she was better in all depeartments, in my opinion, once again.

  • @hdfb1234

    this is a reahearsal..

  • MAGNIFICENT!! They have the magic that Ramin & Sierra have together. Yay!!

  • new song to obsess about

  • 0:51 - 2:08 So it was all an empty lie What a final lie to fool us all To make your death our story's end To put your life beyond recall How dare you come and claim me now? You made(?) my life and sell my voice? If you could know the pain I've known Then you would know I have no choice My Christine Your Christine I was yours one brief night long ago Long ago with a man that I no longer know Ah Christine On the night just before you were wed You came and found where I hid That long ago night
  • @LunaAliCat

Thank you thank you thank you! I have been playing it over and over (and checking these comments) and trying to make it out.

However after " how dare you come and claim me now" another clip of rehearsal footage makes it sound like "invade my life, ensnare my voice".

Now I can just listen and enjoy. Yay!

  • @lizlk Well that's what that line sounded like to me... I was doing the best I could to help others out XD

  • @LunaAliCat You did superbly! Those initial few lines were really eluding me - I have moderate high frequency hearing loss and that can make working out some words difficult.

  • With lizlk's help: So it was all an empty lie What a final lie to fool us all To make your death our story's end To put your life beyond recall How dare you come and claim me now? Invade my life, ensnare my voice! If you could know the pain I've known Then you would know I have no choice My Christine Your Christine I was yours one brief night long ago Long ago with a man that I no longer know Ah Christine On the night just before you were wed You came and found where I hid That long ago night

  • I think it is "I was yours one brief night long ago"

What I want to know are the opening lines- I can make out something like: "So it was all a ?????lie, one final lie to fool us all.( Something) your death (something), (too many?) lies beyond recall. I'd really love to know if anyone can work it out.

  • what does she sing at 1:36 - 1:39?? It's something like 'I was yours ....' and then I can't make out the rest :/

  • sorry but what does she say at 1:36 til 1:40?

  • I'm going to be seeing this on Wednesday :D Sooooo excited

  • Saw it last night the opening. It was....breath taking.

  • i want their lyrics now!!!

  • what does she say at 1.16 to 1.20?

  • @aeggesalat

invade my life! ensnare my voice!

  • @lizlk thank you :D

  • They changed some of the lyrics. Haha! Still sounded pretty :)

  • I think, also, that the melody is pretty but the lyrics are too literal. There aren't any stand alone songs in this musical. :/

  • The melody for this is very pretty, but the story it is telling (i.e. that the Phantom and Christine slept together the night before she married Raoul) is ridiculous and the lyrics are embarrassing. I do like the voices here, they seem more suited to the roles than the London cast, although they're still too young.
