Great video, David. I just got one of them HitAways myself. They're a lot of fun. By the way, the main reason hitters hit from one side of the plate or the other, has nothing to do with hitting. It has to do with protecting the throwing arm. Right handers hit from the left side of the plate because an inside pitch will hit the left arm. So, especially in slow pitch, hit from the side you best from
In all due respect, drills like these, esp. for kids, are nonsense. The game of hitting is played between a batter and a pitcher. You don't learn how to do anything to the best of one's ability, without actually performing that particular excercise.
Well, you seem to have discovered my secret. Yes, I'm a natural right hander but I always bat lefty because I have a better eye on the ball with my dominant right eye. I hit better left handed but I'm only a little awkward because of some recent back trouble.
I don't mean to be judgemental, but why would it matter if your right eye was more dominant? You should always have BOTH eyes on the ball - this means equal sight of the ball regardless of what hand you're batting from. I recommend you continue to bat with your right, however keep both eyes on the ball. Post a video of your right :)

@oSkiPPeRi The size of the bat does not matter, as long as it's comfortable for the person who's using it.

It's used as a swing perfection training. You wouldn't throw a kid in against a pitcher without first teaching him how to hit a ball.

Looks nice..
In Denmark we call it stang-tennis. And we hit the ball with a tennis racket.

@spekLe I've been batting lefty so long now that bating right feels so awkward and clumsy that it seems like it's my nondominant side.

for some reason that looks really fun
