First the article this man talks about the, water/hydrogen article at Jerusalem Post is not about water, but a tank design to hold hydrogen. Second, Stan Meyers fuel cell was a scam. It was proven in court.

@Lukeidea, The idea behind Meyers Fuel Cell is to use water. To use it, it requires electrolysis to generate hydrogen to burn. However, to do so requires more energy put in to create the hydrogen from water, then the energy you get back in the form of hydrogen. Therefore there's a net loss of energy. Meyer's claimed a net gain, which is against the laws of thermodynamics. That's the problem in general with using Hydrogen as a fuel.
@Lukeidea. Yes&No. The problem is I support the use of hydrocarbons as a fuel source, even though it does pollute simply because of it's mobility and the amount of energy per volume it contains. Better ways exist to use it (e.g. Hybrid Cars) or possibly even to create it (e.g. the biofuels article I referred earlier) Plus economically other energy forms can't yet compete. Hydrogen costs too much to make, & unless you use a renewable source (e.g. wind) to create it, net result is more pollution.
@Lukeidea, To get off fossil fuels is half the battle. As a society we can't continue to rely on it. We've probably reached peek supply meaning half of all oil has been used, and getting the rest becomes increasing more expensive and polluting. It's like we've taken 100 years to go through 100 million years worth of created energy. Once it's gone it's gone. Then what do we do? Cheap oil has allowed our society to grow exponentially, and so we face great hurdles to find a replacement.
@Lukeidea, As far as future technologies concern. I'm interested in the Lion/Air Battery which would provide a storage means comparable to gasoline energy density or greater. Then with regards to Future energy generation, there's ITER (nuclear fusion reactor) and also electrical conductive polymers for cheap solar panel creation. These technologies are far off but present possibilities to provide clean energy. Take a look at those and let me know what you think.

I have researched this subject. Its just another name for the perpetual motion machine. There has always been someone who is "just about" to produce such a device, but it will never happen. Learn more about physics, especially the 2nd law of thermodynamics and entropy before you give these con men your money.

The Energy Non-Crises by Lindsey Williams makes for a very interesting read. Essentially, he explains that the U.S. has PLENTY of oil on its own lands (Alaska) but utilizes tight controls of oil to essentially manipulate world power. Even if this wasn't true, it's decades past the time we should have moved on to other forms of energy. Energy=Freedom. Bless the Orion Project.

I was looking for info on the "Orion Project" on nuclear propulsion from the late 1960's. That was a really cool technology that never went anywhere. If you search YouTube for "To Mars by A-bomb" there's a 5 part series on it. It interviews Freeman Dyson who is a genius of just Freak Proportions--one of the smartest men alive.

Meyer was sued because "he was just using standard electrolysis."
Electrolysis can get hydrogen out of water.
Hydrogen can be Burned and used as fuel.
It makes sense to me that a "holding tank" for hydrogen would be a significant factor in hydrogen fuel technology.
That was an interesting article about E-coli making diesel and other hydrocarbons though.
What we want here is no more oil burning :p

First the article this man talks about the, water/hydrogen article at Jerusalem Post is not about water, but a tank design to hold hydrogen. Second, Stan Meyers fuel cell was a scam. It was proven in court.
Alas, If you're interested in some 'real' technologies, might I suggest "Biofuel from Bacteria" article by David Biello @ Scientific American April 2010. + Along these lines the more in-depth article "A Life of Its Own" by Michael Specter @ The New Yorker Sept. 2009.

But hydrogen is not a "mythical fuel." It's a non polluting one.
And according to the lawsuit which you also pointed out to me, Meyers fuel cell doesn't violate any laws of physics.
It simply uses electrolysis (most likely powered by normal lead acid batteries) to extract hydrogen from water and uses that hydrogen as fuel.
What else needs to be said?

@Lukeidea, The idea behind Meyers Fuel Cell is to use water. To use it, it requires electrolysis to generate hydrogen to burn. However, to do so requires more energy put in to create the hydrogen from water, then the energy you get back in the form of hydrogen. Therefore there's a net loss of energy. Meyer's claimed a net gain, which is against the laws of thermodynamics. That's the problem in general with using Hydrogen as a fuel.

Also, hydrogen is getting cheaper and cheaper to produce. Not to mention the electric car.

@Lukeidea. Yes&No. The problem is I support the use of hydrocarbons as a fuel source, even though it does pollute simply because of it's mobility and the amount of energy per volume it contains. Better ways exist to use it (e.g. Hybrid Cars) or possibly even to create it (e.g. the biofuels article I referred earlier) Plus economically other energy forms can't yet compete. Hydrogen costs too much to make, & unless you use a renewable source (e.g. wind) to create it, net result is more pollution.

@Lukeidea, To get off fossil fuels is half the battle. As a society we can't continue to rely on it. We've probably reached peek supply meaning half of all oil has been used, and getting the rest becomes increasing more expensive and polluting. It's like we've taken 100 years to go through 100 million years worth of created energy. Once it's gone it's gone. Then what do we do? Cheap oil has allowed our society to grow exponentially, and so we face great hurdles to find a replacement.

Then with regards to Future energy generation, there's ITER (nuclear fusion reactor) and also electrical conductive polymers for cheap solar panel creation. These technologies are far off but present possibilities to provide clean energy. Take a look at those and let me know what you think.

I don't know if I mentioned this to you, but this year there's been several demonstrations of it, and been some interesting results, and comments by accredited individuals witnessing the demonstrations. NY Teknik has been following them closely. Search Wikipedia for it then follow the footnotes to NY teknik and read about it. It's either some unknown nuclear process, or a huge hoax. I guess the future will tell.

I'm far from being a denialist (new word) but I have a healthy skepticism. Let's look at some other technology. The Ross Energy Catalyst has recently had other accredited individuals review it, who believe it's results are from an unknown nuclear process. This is science I find interesting.

I have researched this subject. Its just another name for the perpetual motion machine. There has always been someone who is "just about" to produce such a device, but it will never happen. Learn more about physics, especially the 2nd law of thermodynamics and entropy before you give these con men your money.

I've seen several of these working over unity devices. They are out there. Read Tesla's stuff. Moray. Allan. What usually happens is what happened to Tesla--he was shut down because Morgan wanted to make money selling his copper wire, and Edison provided a way to make money. Tesla wanted energy to be free. Now we see the result of greed. Our entire world is on the verge of collapse. Dust off the old manuscripts and schematics. We had this is the 1900's, before we were convinced it couldn't work.

i believe it could be
but the thing is with overunity is that many people describe it pretty horrible and it doesnt sound scientific at all it is not that you get the energy from nothing is that you tap into another energy source

True, theories can be broken.
However, it doesn't simply sound "not scientific". I'd prefer to call it hillarious, if someone asks for money to invest in a project taking an assumption for granted that completely contradicts our theories of how this universe operates.
Big scientific breakthroughs were in most cases done by brilliant individuals using their brain and their eyes to observe and conclude. They didn't need much funding for this.
So sorry, but to me it sounds like rip-off!

The cartels have lead the charge which placed us in this collective mess they must now lead us out.
It is beholden on you power brokers, to assume this gauntlet, it is not incumbent on the general public to lobby Congress and the President.
The population is already prepared for new technologies, there is no longer a need for acclimation, time to break past that psychology.
The public is ready, use the mass media and other various forces at your dispositions to make this happen. En masse.

Billions of dollars will be wasted in these bailouts going to big oil and coal, why not allow a fraction of 1% of the money to put into these REAL solutions? Tell your representatives people! The Energy Non-Crises by Lindsey Williams makes for a very interesting read. Essentially, he explains that the U.S. has PLENTY of oil on its own lands (Alaska) but utilizes tight controls of oil to essentially manipulate world power. Even if this wasn't true, it's decades past the time we should have moved on to other forms of energy. Energy=Freedom. Bless the Orion Project.
