  • why are the sets different from the first episode

  • at the computer he writes in times new roman hahahaha

  • it's so hilarious how Jamal explains to Tina that they don't know where Ghostwriter came from yet 30 seconds later, Tina still asks, "where did he come from?" lol

  • who keeps chalk in their pocket?

  • If Ghostwriter was still around and jumbling letters in front of certain people... and people wrote to him with the "slang" that we use 2day in 2011.. Ghostwriter wld be sooo confused or pissed.

  • OMG Jeremy Miller. I used to have a huge crush on him....but now? Not so much.

  • lol this is only the second episode and it pays no attention to the first one. All the sets are different firs of all, and second of all, they contradict what they found out about Ghostwriter in the first one. For example, in this video Jamal says, it can even be a she. But in the first episode Ghostwriter said it was a he.

  • @TECfan1 Thank You... I totally agree ...... I'm wondering why they shot this episode different from the first.. as a matter of fact, I wonder did they shoot (film) this episode first, even tho this is considered the "second" episode.... it's all different........the camera effect is different, (it's like a "movie version" camera) and they do contradict what they said from the first episode........ and Samuel L is Jamal's Daddy!! lol

  • @CEQUEUE Yes, Who Burned Down Mr. Brinker's Store was supposed to be the first episode aired. Wikipedia has more info.

  • @TECfan1 I found that amusing, too. But this was actually supposed to be the original pilot arc. And although this is only the second story arc of the series, it's actually the eight proper episode.

  • @fallenmutt13 what do you mean by eight proper episode?

  • @TECfan1 Alright, so there are several different story arcs in the first season. Ghost Story is the first, this one is the second, so on and so forth. However, each story arc is made up of multiple 30 minute or so episodes.

All of them consist of 4 episodes, except for Ghost Story and To The Light which each were 5 episodes long. Since this is Part 3 of the second story arc, that means it's really episode 8 in the overall season. (Counting Ghost Story's 1-5 and then part 1 and 2 of this.)

  • Tlutch...Shut up I watch this in CLASS

  • DONT LET YOUR KIDS LOOK AT THIS.

LOOKING BACK IT SEEMS VERY DANGEROUS FOR KIDS TO GET THE IDEA THAT THEY ARE CHATTING WITH AN ONLINE GHOST. SUPPOSE THEY GO ABOUT BELIEVEING ITS A GHOST AND ITS REALLY A SEX PREDATOR. DONT LET KIDS WATCH THIS.

  • @tlutch There's a difference between talking on the damn computer and random words floating in random ass places.

  • @likemachinesdo Yeah. On the computer, Ghostwriter can write anything, but on signs and paper, he could only use the letters that are already written and can't make new ones.

  • didn't anyone ever tell these kids it's rude to talk about secrets and then refuse to tell them?

  • That is so weird how Chris was an outsider in the mostly black neighborhood wanting to play basketball and Jamal helped him fit in... but now Jamal called him an "outsider" from the Ghostwriter team. That kind of devalues the lesson. They should have just had Chris walk away at the Rally mention. I wish he'd joined the team for the rest of the run though. I loved Jeremy Miller (Chris) as Ben Seaver in Growing Pains. This would have been 1992, also Miller's last year as the role of Ben.

  • Haha, I love how Ghostwriter uses the S to make the T and R switch places in STORIES at 3:05.

  • anyone notice at 5:29 number 3 is spelled "dowing" his job? Where was Ghostwriter then, he's slacking!

  • @TheMethadoneParty Actually, if says "DOIWG," which is only significant because I think it's just a particularly goofy looking uppercase N.

  • @moccalou Oh i see it now, it does look funny lol

  • @TheMethadoneParty Good eye, but I'm afraid you goofed. You meant "doiwg" but I don't think it's a misspell. It's sloppy hurried handwriting. The W is really a N with a tail. Look at 6 on the list. The W in doiwg looks more like the N in plane than it does the W in Washington. Ghost writer must understand hen scratch and doesn't correct sloppiness. LOL

  • "sorry Craig, that's kind of a secret between me and my friends." "Yeah, no outsiders." lol they couldn't have been a little bit more tactful?

  • @monalisa1040 I thought that too. He saved his butt. Jamal should've said, "if it was my choice I'd let you on the team." Then Craig wouldn't feel like Jamal was the one excluding him. As it was, when Jamal said thanks for saving my butt, Craig should've said, "Yeah sure. Too bad it's not enough. I'm still just an outsider."

  • BTW, Mr brinker is an a-hole.

  • Speaking of circumstantial evidence, the practical reality here is that even if they prove he was at the store, it wouldn't prove beyond a reasonable doubt that he was the one who set the fire. He never even entered the store and the video doesn't actuallly show him doing anything other than dropping the letter in the drop slot.

  • @Gmooreisawesome Yeah the police were definitley lazy on this. What is a drop box for??? HELLO!!! You drop things in it when the store is closed. Anybody returning a video rental is a suspect by this cops definition. I put my rent in the drop box, so I guess I'd be a suspect if a crime happened at my appartment manager's office. STUPID!!!!

  • Alex just randomly carries a piece of chalk around in his pocket? Okayyyyyyy.........

  • @DukeDarkshadow I thought that was a rock. At least he doesn't carry a sharpie or a spray paint can. Would ghost writer respond to graffiti????

  • Am I the only one who thinks the Ghost is the cutest character in the whole damn show?

  • @Karmillina Nope, its funny how they can make a bunch of words and give it such personality.

  • @Katbee1 That's what makes the Ghost cute ;D

  • First they said ghostwriter is a he, can only read, write and feel emotions. Now he might be a she?! In the episode Ghost Story ghostwriter sent Jamal a message about the Thabtos that he said he saw on a *blue* letter.... Ghostwriter can't see so how did he know the letter was blue?. The writers of the show messed up twice already about what ghostwriter really is. Jamal looks like he was going to pee his pants 6:50-6:59.

  • @MARSHAJAN1983

they asked if ghostwriter if he's a he or a she (if i'm right)

  • @MARSHAJAN1983

they messed up THIS episode a lot though, look at the scenes.

  • @MARSHAJAN1983 I caught the blue letter thing in this story as well because he says he saw the copyright infringment on a blue letter and that Mr. Brinker didn't want the letter. How'd Ghostwriter know that from just reading?

  • @finitesolution I still think Ghostwriter can see. :P In the first episode he went from Jamal's computer in to his backpack. Even though Jamal once said, "he jumps from words to words," that's only for communicating. So, he can see but not hear. That's my analysis. =P

  • @moccalou Good point, but I guess he can be finding words inside the back pack, like school papers & books. One Major wrong nobody seems to notice. WHY did Jamal say, "He can even be a she." They asked and ghost writer said he was a HE!!! If he can't see, how did he see Tina's videos? Was Tina writing anything he could consider stories? Maybe he meant her case book. How could GW know anything about the blonde kid from "growing pains" to add him to the team later? He never wrote words, did he?

  • @finitesolution New theory! See my reply to MARSHAJAN1983. :)

  • @finitesolution Jamal over heard Brinker yelling at the FBI guy. Thats how he knew he didn't want the letter.

  • @MARSHAJAN1983 This episode was the original pilot. They filmed this one first to offer PBS as a new show... but PBS thought it was too confusing so they filmed Ghost Story afterward as a new episode. By the time they filmed Ghost Story they had probably decided Ghostwriter was male and elaborated on what he could and couldn't do, forgetting about the pilot.

  • @moccalou That answers my question. I wondered about the he she thing. Maybe that explains why I remember this episode but don't recall ever seeing ghost story before. When was ghost story aired? or was ghost story aired first and they just never corrected that part?

  • @Miracle490d I love how these Ghostwriter videos prompt lots of discussion. XD We need a Ghostwriter forum. Hahaha.

  • They changed the store from the past couple of episodes....and wth now MoMo is cool with him?....

  • They changed the store from the first couple of episodes

  • Why wasn't Tram-Anh Tran in "Ghost Story"?

  • Although it's nice that this show is trying to teach kids how to be good citizens Jamal does have good reason to be afraid. History has shown us, even recently, that people of color often are found guilty of crimes they didn't commit due often to circumstantial evidence and faulty eyewitness reports, not to mention evidence tampering and placement of false evidence. I wish it were as simple as just "telling the truth," but the world doesn't work that way.

  • After all these years, I still love this show.

  • Got Dammit!! Yep yal only got circumstantial evidence!!

  • i just wanna know how the hell they wrote so neatly..............

  • Comment removed

  • Because the Brinker's Store arc was meant to be the pilor for Ghostwriter. At the last moment, they shot the "Ghost Story" arc, and used that one for the premiere.

  • If the fire started in the back room, why are the cops looking for a kid who was seen putting something through the mail slot in the front room?

Ah well, it's not like real-life cops are that much smarter...

  • alex is sucha cutie!!!!!

i had like the biggest crush on him lol

  • "Why did you choose me?" Cause we have two hispanic, a white, and a black kid now we need an asian on the team.

  • LOL, so true!

But you can't blame a show for having racial diversity, I wish more shows nowadays did.

I guess they're slowly moving towards it.

  • @l3laze86 LOL. Good one.

  • these kids are such smart asses

  • who are you?

    pre-google

  • haha! true ture!

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHHAHAHA

  • "Can I still write to you from jail." Aww stanka, too cute.

  • Craig bout 16 tryin to hang wit 10 and 11 year olds. Come on man!!!

  • I heard one of the reasons they wrote craig out is because he seemed a little too older than the others which makes sense. I think they rewrote craig in the form of rob which was a good casting idea and made the show even better..

  • ''put the kuffs on him''

  • Why didn't Ghostwriter choose Craig? He's a nice boy. Does he have something against WASP-y jocks? Shame on Ghostwriter for wanting Craig to be left out of another group.

  • Craig is not only nice but really cute too lol

But I didn't like the way Jamal told him it was a "secret" because he said: "it's a secret between me and my friends" it sounds like if he didn't consider Craig his friend, he should've said something like: "sorry, but it's a team thing and it has it's rules"

  • I agree, but sometimes you just don't know what to say. Especially when you're not expecting someone else to want to be included just like that.

  • Two words: Growing Pains. 4 other words: Contract with Warner Bros.

  • around the 4 minute marker it sounded like gaby said "i'm putting it on my facebook"

  • Lol! She said Casebook.

  • why did Jamal say that he could even be a she, when GW clearly told his ass that he was a he in the first story arc?

  • Because the first arc was made after this one. "Who Burned Down Mr. Brinker's Store?" was the first arc that was shot and it was originally going to be the pilot. (You can tell because the characters look a bit younger in this arc than they did in "Ghost Story.")

  • Why the hell is Jamal still wearing that jacket?!?

    It's evidence! Sigh..

  • circumstantial!

  • @AJxn3 Jamal iz stupid for wearin that jacket.

  • @AJxn3 maybe its his only jacket? when I was a kid I had 1 jacket, 1 pair of sneakers ect. things like that can be expensive.

  • its that kid from growing pains right?

  • yep

  • alex looks asian at around 6:30 - 6:46

  • The first time I saw this ep was on Noggin, but I discovered the rest of the show on PBS.

  • in the "into the comics" saga, ghostwriter can't "read" the pictures in the comics. So, how does he "see"/"read" what is in Tina's videos? =/

also, did you notice Alex took a piece of chalk out of his pocket for the RALLY? Does he carry around a peice of chalk whereever he goes?? LOL! omg! i LOVE David Lopez! he's so hot! i had such a crush on him while watching this back in the day! i wonder what he's doing now...

  • it was the pilot so my guess is they hadnt worked out the basics hence y this episode and ghostwriter himself looks different than the others

  • PS i had the biggest crush on Gaby, wana double date?

  • ghostwriter is really picky with the ppl he chooses to be on the team huh?

  • he's racist. already has one white kid...doesn't need another. He's waiting for an Indian kid to come around

  • @starsandhearts22 Yeah, but they have two Hispanics! :P

  • if u notice Jamal just said in the beginning that they don't know where Ghostwriter came from so why would Tina ask that question 30 seconds after that?

typical retarded move if u ask me

  • Here's a sharpie...er I mean OFFICIAL Ghostwriter pen.

  • I think part of the charm was that they WERE just common sharpies... we actually see him buying them at Ferguson's store.

  • If he can't hear, then how does he like Tina's videos??

  • well he can go into computer in which he can freely write what he wants perhaps he reads the titles and goes into tinas t.v. and see what he wants as she plays the movies ?

  • lol yah like there gonna send an 11 year old kid to jail!.

  • juvenile detention facilities, at least.

  • Oh yeah like juvenile hall

  • to rachelose, is possible this was the very first episode they made, but then realized they made a mistake and didn't make the introduction episode to ghostwriter, and then they went ahead and made it when they was older.

  • actually july moon, back in the early 1990's and mid 90's kids in public school and middle school would carry chalk with them, and make games on the floor, like the hoping game with numbers, i don're remember the name, and kids used to also play a game with a bottle top that you had to also write on the floor with chalk.but today nobody does. theres computers and video games all that stuff.lol.

  • Are you talking about hop scotch?

  • FOR RACHELROSE. it is possible that this was the first episode they made, so everyone is really young, but then they realized that they didn't make the introduction episode of ghost writer, and they went ahead and did it when they was older. That can be the explanation.

  • y do they always write and type so slow. it gets annoyin sumtimes

  • ok seriously, who carries around chalk in their pockets?

  • Comment removed

  • did they run out of paper? wtf

  • I'm confused... did they do the "Ghost Story" episode after all of these? Because in that episode Ghostwriter told them that he was a "he" and they looked older... yet here they look younger and already know about Ghostwriter... I'm lost

  • Everybody on the show aparently seems to have better handwriting than I do.

  • they should get creg on the GW team!

  • why is the guy from ALF such a JERK?!?!

  • Always trying to keep a brother down. The boy ain't no thugs; he's into writing w/ ghosts and shit. lol

  • I always found it weird that in this story arc, the film for the show was shot differently and the homes used for Jamal and Lenni are different from the usual ones.

  • Yeah I noticed that about Lenni's house. She has a lot of sweet music/audio equipment too. My boyfriend was watching this with me [he's a gen x kid and doesn't understand the awesomeness of Ghostwriter] and was like "Where did she get all that equipment?!"

  • oh don't forgot some people haven't seen to the light and over a barrel

  • You HAVE to do the comic book one as well.

Maybe take "ghostwriter" out of the keywords, and just keep "GW". Don't want these to be deleted.

  • that's a smart idea

  • @iamghostwriter2 I definately don't want ghost writer deleted, but will taking the name out stop people from finding it on searches? That's how I found these. I wouldn't have thought of searching GW.

  • up and ready

  • Thanks so much for these. Do you have "Don't Stop the Music?" I haven't seen that one in a long time and don't remember it much. I just remember Lenni's lame "You Gotta Believe" rap/song.
