@Alliecake17 You can use Windows Journal. Also if you download maths exam papers as PDF you can open them up in Adobe Reader and print them to Windows Journal meaning you can write on them which is really useful. It's a great laptop.

@yeomanrycavalry Agreed. And it comes close to what I was hoping for in MS's Courier device... and HP's slate... etc... but this will be better over all. I'm not expecting it to be a total desktop replacement, but for portable it's ideal.

I don't care :x It's the best pc I ever had, and I've had some diffrent types.. It has enough CPU for gaming, picture programs, and all. Can be that the battery dosen't last more than 5 hours, and that it's heavier, but I can live with that. The touch function isen't just cool, but usable, and i've never had an pc with 6 cells that last for 5 hours atleast. If the CPU ever get's to little, I'll just send it in, and get it upgraded. Not any worse than that. Never gonna change this, it's the best!

On the german one z and y is twised and you have ä ü . on the top by the numbers you have ! " § $ % & / ( ) = ? ´. you can search in the i net the german keyboard lay-out. It depends in which country you live.

I don't get whats wrong with you guys my Tx2 only gets hot when its in High Performance mode and I simply just use a cooling fan which keeps it cold. And a Dvd drive is very important if this is your only computer. Hey I wonder if their was ever was any Tm1s :)

DVD drives really don't matter.

Buy an external drive (40ish) and rip the .iso off those.

Mount it under DAEMON TOOLS or MagicDisc.

Just as good; minus a pound and a half-inch.

Anyways, I like the CULV processor because of battery life. You can even get a dedicated GPU (Radeon 4550) and play some games (The Sims, WOW, etc.).

They look awesome. i want one so bad. Will be getting a job just to buy this sucker with max specs.

If you are somewhat proficient with computers, then this is awesome.

@jessicamorales0829 hey yes there are some differences. 1. tx2 run with AMD vision processor , Tm2 with intel core 2duo processor 2. Tx2 has DVD drive Tm2 don`t have.

3. tm2 has long battery life tx2 has a bit shorter.4.Tx2 procssor is 2.3 GHZ while tm2 is 1.5 GHz processor Rest both are same!So now it`s up to you. I prefer tx2 coz it is faster and it has DVD dual drive!

I'm a proud owner of tx2500 n I have seen first-hand the performance of tx2-win7, so to all of u that think that d tx2 outperforms tm2 please reconsider because tm2 owns a totally new motherboard n much better high-end parts such as Intel procs, n ati graphics chip, n even with 1.6ghz its a promising new design with hdmi n firewire ports that targets for much better performance than its predecessor sacrificing d already obsolete optical drive in exchange of a thiner sexier look :)

I wish they would have a choice of placing a cd drive in place of that.

Well a good thing about this computer is that the Digitizer pen is a Wacom Pen so that means the pen is reconzied by more software and that means more pressure sensitivity.

It's a great notebook. it doesn't matter if it's only 1.6gh as long as it has good amount of cache on the cpu anything over1gh is enough. Under practical use you won't be able to tell a difference unless you are opening incrediblely heavy applications. Please don't put off this computer just because it has 1.6 ghz cpu. I'm a AMD fan, and i think the amd cpu they used in the previous tx series was great, but I believe they made the change to increase battery life, and keep the computer cooler.

I wish they would've put one of the newer amd neo x2 processors in this laptop, but just because it had an 1.6 gh intel cpu doesn't mean it's slower.

Trust me they've solve my only issues with the laptop by upgrading to the tm2. less heat, slightly lighter, and now awkward protruding battery.

Actually the lowest Ghz which will be on the quick ship models is 1.3hghz and it will cost more then the TX2. I'll sugest this computer to people that don't care much about performance and care more about battery life. I think it was a terrible idea to remove the disc drive. I feel whats the point of having a HDMI if I can't watch my movies in HD with it. If you want more performance get a TX2 if you want more battery life and willing to pay more get a TM2.

I never buy movies on discs anymore, they just get scratched and takes up a lot of room. Much better to buy via internet and store everything on an external harddrive or file server.

So a HDMI port necessary.

Still I wish HP had put in at least a Core i3 mobile ... Core i5-430M @ 2.26Ghz up to 2.53Ghz with internal GPU (500-766Mhz) and optional ATi 5880M mobile GPU.

Better still why HP NOT give us the GeForce chipset they use in the EliteBook 8540P/W lineup?!

What I DO find odd is that the 2730P business tablet has not been refreshed yet. Add to that, this TM2 has a lower TDW cpu in tow, what will the replacement for the 2730P have?

People don't fall for it because it intel proceesor in it its actually slower then the TX2 the TM2 has a 1.6Ghz while the TX2 has 2.0 ghz - 2.4ghz.

@Daxter609: Actually, the TX series uses the super ancient AMD turion processors whereas this TM2 runs on an Intel Core 2 Duo. More specifically, its a CULV processor. But it makes up for that because it runs on ATI GPU and has a capacitive screen. My only gripe is that this doesn't come with a built in DVD drive, you gotta get external :(
