@jessegonum2009 All of the lawyers you mentioned where in a private practice for at least 15 years. Nobody can name any experience Kagan has in a court room except for the 9 cases she has tried as Solicitor General (Maybe that is like an internship?). The woman is not qualified and she hates the military.

@ Everyone else - DADT was a bipartisan policy passed under President Clinton (wow, what was he famous for?). Like it or not, Kagan didn't say anything about it when she served under him.

Well truth be told, experience as a federal judge has not always been a prerequisite for the position of Supreme Court Justice. Some of the sharpest minds on the Court were not justices prior to their nominations. I.e. William Rehnquist, Byron White, and Lewis Powell.

So it's perfectly OK for the military to discriminate against openly gay and lesbian folks and treat them like pariahs, discharging any of them found or suspected to be gay who are in the closet, which only weakens our military, but god forbid someone stands up against such a ridiculous policy! i don't typically agree w/ Jeff Session, though he's a senator from my state; he still at least realizes that a supreme court justice should @ least have some experience as a judge @ some pt. or at least a scholar or student of law, which neither requirements she has.

2) I don't think even Obama wants her confirmed. But since she represents the loudest political reason since Janet Reno why there are still Muslim terrorists still poised to hate us, which Ayn Rand proves they have NO real reason to do, I truly think our lawyer President, who could not want to destroy the appearance of propriety required of all Justices especially on the Supreme Court, just wanted her opinionated offensiveness forced into words on the Senate Floor.
