What kind of mother uses or ingests any substances that are not beneficial to their unborn child?? LOUSY, SELFISH mothers, that kind of mother. They are thinking of their own gratification and not the well being of thier baby. I smoked, but as soon as the test was positive, I QUIT. In fact, during my entire pregnancy, I quit caffeine, didn't take any medication even if my head was splitting open and took care of myself like my child was the second coming of Jesus Christ.

I'm with Abb, I have had 2 beautiful daughters and a son on the way! I smoked the whole time with all three and they turned out great! I do not see how my baby in a sack of fluid can get harmed other than his heart beating faster! My mom smoked with me and my sister too! We all turned out fine! Now drinking and pregnant, that's just wrong!

I smoked with my daughter for the first five months of pregnancy, I started smoking before I even knew I was pregnant, my doctor told me that quitting cold turkey and stressing myself out would be just as bad as smoking, whether he was right or not I don't know I do know that I got very lucky and now have a beautiful happy and healthy 2 year old.

My grandma smoked even when she knew that she was pregnant with my mom. My mom's fine and the only issue is very slight and common. OCD is what she had because of my grandma, now I have it, and my brother has it. But she was lucky! :)
