@Blenderate cheers mate btw you are awesome in the squat and the high rep stuff is the best on youtube great to see a powerlifter with some great legs( im straight so dont worry )lol
First off, props. I've linked more than one of your vids on my facebook page before. Your rep squatting strength just blows me away. Question for you though: When doing deads, do you recommend dead stop reps or touch and go? I find dead stop a LOT harder.
Thanks. :) For deads, it depends on your specific weaknesses and goals. Both ways have their merits. I do mostly dead stop because I'm weak off the floor. But somebody who's strong off the floor and weak at lockout might benefit more from the constant tension of touch-and-go.
Great work Andy! I was streaming the meet live here at home, and my family was wondering what i was yelling about, haha. Love that Dream Theater theme music too.
congrats on the PRs!!!! You got great depth on all of your squats which is awesome cause I hate it when people claim to squat big weight when they can't even come near parallel with it. You'll get that 661 squat man just keep working at it.
Haha, did you have Never Enough on repeat or did they start the song over for every attempt? Petrucci's solo in that song is great for grinding out hard reps. Shit, Petrucci soloing is great for anything.
great job..... awesome lifting...... don't worrry about beatng anyone but yourself...... its about making atemppts and getting PRs..... thats what is in your control..... you can;t control others lifts and who shows up...... so just keep making PRs
Yeah, no kidding. Sioux-z yelled at me for that. I don't think I'll ever take my hands off the bar again after having 114 pounds of female fury reaming me out over it. :)
everyone wants to win..... iits a hard concept to oonly be able to focus on your attempts and doing better than last time..... its still a problem for me also......
just a quickie can you wear knee wraps at these comps or do you prefer without...
arniemonkey 1 year ago
@arniemonkey Knee wraps are not allowed in most raw divisions. Some federations allow them, however.

Yes, hook grip. I squat high bar because that's the only way I know how. :) Eventually I may switch to low bar.

scubasteve121212 2 years ago
@scubasteve121212 2nd place to Mike Tuscherer, but we were the only two 275ers who finished, and he beat me by about a billion pounds.
