I watched both Rhydian & Leon, but I'm so sorry, BUT Rhydian is WAY BETTER than Leon. What happened? We all know that Rhydian will go far and good luck to him!!! I have only 1 word for Rhydian if he wants t make his fortune in the US - Vegas, Baby. He could get a long term contract at any venue there and sell it out every night for at least 6 months. I think the clientele there will especially appreciate the sequine suit he wore when he sang "Get This Party Started".
I wish that people wouldn't keep calling him an opera singer. He is a musical theater type singer. Two different things entirely. Opera singers don't do well in musical theater. Their voices are too large. Rhydian has a large voice, but also has the flexibility to sing theater songs. And "Phantom of the Opera" is not a true opera either. It is a musical.
Rhydian reminds me of great American singers, like Perry Como or maybe Dean Martin, but it does carry a certain style and following. I think Leon is more contemporary, but again, he sounds best at jazz and ballads too, so the fans will be based on the songs the sing the best. I'm sure there are rap followers who hate them both :). I just don't think Leon got as much support and a year to get his album out. If you haven't listend, Creative I think is better than the other single they released.

This song is a perfect example of the fact that Rhydian still needs work. He's pitchy and his vibrato has lots of bleat and wobble.
If he works on the bleat and wobble (technical placement of his voice) by not over using this blatantly abused vibrato, it will help in the long run and his career. I think his best note was the last one. Because he relaxed his jaw and left it alone!
The peroxide blond hair does nothing but make him out to be a freak and he's really not! :D ..lose it Rhyd!!! ;)

They fored for the cute, that's why Rhydian lost - The X Factor is teen oriended mostly. Leon was terrible 50% of the time (I liked him only during the disco night) - you know Bubbleish, with no spark, a bit boring...
Rhydian was more consistent (exept for "Go west!") and much more original. Plus, his voice was powerful and mesmerising.
The song "When you believe" was sung by some really powerful voices, Rhydian was the only one who could get close to the origial!

I cant help it...I think he lacks control of his vabrato (however that's spelled). It doesnt sound good. Obviously that can be fixed with minimal work but it kills his whole sound for me

Whatever the circumstances of Leon's victory, and my bet would be that is was all down to his fake sob story, the fact remains that someone with the voice and performance skills of an average karaoke singer has no place winning a talent show or having a recording deal.

The X factor made a big mistake when saying it was England v Scotland v Wales becos this was NOT a battle between countries, it was a battle between 3 acts. Rhydian was far better than Leon and everyone knows it. It was a massive diapointment tht Leon won becos it was a talent competition and Rhydian was far superior.
I think they fixed it because they didn't want danni to control his career, he will do alot better than leon, but i guess leon needed it more, so it's kinda of a good thing to happen im winning it but still unjust

They fored for the cute, that's why Rhydian lost - The X Factor is teen oriended mostly. Leon was terrible 50% of the time (I liked him only during the disco night) - you know Bubbleish, with no spark, a bit boring...
Rhydian was more consistent (exept for "Go west!") and much more original. Plus, his voice was powerful and mesmerising.
The song "When you believe" was sung by some really powerful voices, Rhydian was the only one who could get close to the origial!

Do you think if there was any trouble with it (by the way it's very well controlled) it wouldn't have been remedied in the training Rhydian has had already?

I cant help it...I think he lacks control of his vabrato (however that's spelled). It doesnt sound good. Obviously that can be fixed with minimal work but it kills his whole sound for me

i never actually watched the final nor most of the rounds due to work - but when i did watch a couple of the rounds..the welsh anthem, somebody to love, you'll never walk alone and a few more - i said from early on he will get a deal even if he doesn't win cos he got an awesome voice with loads of confidence!!! I'm patriotic in england but rhydian very much was robbed and did deserve to win! was shocked whe i got told thst he didnt win...

Whatever the circumstances of Leon's victory, and my bet would be that is was all down to his fake sob story, the fact remains that someone with the voice and performance skills of an average karaoke singer has no place winning a talent show or having a recording deal.
The X Factor is a talent show and whatever the result on the night, ultimately, talent will win out.
Good luck to Rhydian, though I don't think he'll need it.

The thing about Rhydian is he has a brilliant voice, and is consistent
Leon was occasionally good, but his voice is inconsistent. He can't sing the same song twice and sound the same.
He'll have his Christmas number one, and then vanish into the abyss, I predict.
Rhydian will be strutting the stage for a while yet.

What i didn't like about the final was how it morphed into a nationalistic contest:England v Wales v Scotland. I thought it was about the best voice with the X factor. Anyway, Rhydian gets a record deal and might play the Phantom...eventhough he looks a bit like a 60's StarTrek Captain.

The X factor made a big mistake when saying it was England v Scotland v Wales becos this was NOT a battle between countries, it was a battle between 3 acts. Rhydian was far better than Leon and everyone knows it. It was a massive diapointment tht Leon won becos it was a talent competition and Rhydian was far superior.
