@narutoandpokemaster yeah but you can't max out any stat unless you start ev training when you first catch, hatch, or receive it. for example, if you start training regularly and then start ev training, you won't be able to max out any stat because you've gotten ev's in other stats.

ev training means EFFORT VALUE.

to ev train is to add a brace to your pokemon which in some cases would give u 6-15 extra points than u would normally and a lot more if ur pkmn has pokerus. using rare candies cancells out the ev brace. hope this helps!

they're used to help you if you messed up your ev training. Let's say you ev trained your garchomp with sp. atk. evs but you don't want sp. atk. evs. You use the berry to reduce the sp. atk evs to 100 (each berry reduces the evs of a specific stat). This berry won't work if your evs are under 100. Hope that helped a little

wth I did exactly what you did and i battled like a hundred gyarados and seaking but my garchomp only got +3 attack and i had power bracer on. can anyone tell me what i did wrong or was there something i missed or what?

Specific pokemon you battle give you EV points in whatever category (corresponding to the pokemon you're battling obviously). however, you can only ever reach a MAXIMUM total of 510 EV points spread across all of these categories, so it sounds to me like yourGarchomp already has those 510 EV points assiged to categories. :(

Don't worry though, there are specific berries you can give your pokemon that will reduce the EV points in a specific stat, so choose something that you won't use

(ie special attack for garchomp) and feed it the corresponding berry until it has reached zero again. Now you can go about training your garchomp in attack until that EV rating has been maxed out (the maxmum you can have on any stat is 255 EV points, but each 4 EV points corresponds to 1 stat point so 252 is the max that makes a difference, as it is the largest number before 255 that is divisible by 4).

You'll probably want to remove EVs from other stats if you're going to reach 252 in atk.

I thought the berries only reduce the evs to 100? in this case you shouldn't ev train in sp. attack to begin with. But I'm not sure... I thought I read this somewhere

The first berry will always reduce the EV to 100, so if it has 252 EVs one berry will instantly take it down to 100. Every berry after that reduces the EV value by 10, so to take an EV of 252 down to 0 it will take 11 berries.

If i have a power lens and pokerus and I battle a gastly, how many Evs did I just get?

Im a little confused on this because I know this:

Gastly=1 Ev in SPATK

Power Lens=+4 Evs in SPATK

Pokerus=x2 Evs

so does that mean i get 10 Evs in SPATK, or do i get 7? PLease help meh!

Yes. If you get no EVs in a stat, it doesn't really make it weaker, although it won't be as high as if you had gotten the EVs in the stat.
