Ace Frehley has influenced thousands or perhaps even millions of fans to take up the guitar. Tommy Thayer has influenced NOBODY. KISS fan and collector since 1976.
As much as I love Kiss, I'm GLAD I didn't go this show. Why? No Ace and No Peter. Would you go see Judas Priest WITHOUT K.K. (Downing) and/or Glenn (Tipton)?
Its a shame that people think this is Kiss. No Ace, and No Peter. If they weren't in make up I would totally support this or if they were different characters. But, Tommy Thayer is Ace's old guitar tech! Dressing like Ace and Peter is a total rip off and its sad. Like I said, I've seen them without make up with a different line up and in make up with the originals. Gene and Paul are total money hungry whores that only care about a buck and not integrity.
hey cheegro1. Do you think for a minute that it is a tribute to Ace and Peter they continue with their characters? Secondly, have you seen them lately? I did in 96 and again in 2000 when Ace and Peter were in the group. . Peter was as weak as a baby girl and Ace hit so many clunkers it was embarrassing. Partly due the doping that got them ousted in the first place. Be angry about that.. Skills fade as you get older let alone piss them down the drain with dope.sorry,true.
I am not going to doubt for a second that Ace and Peter had drug issues that caused problems in the band. I have no problem with Kiss continuing to tour. But, if its a tour in make up, there should be different characters for lead guitar and drums. Just like Eric Carr was the fox and vinnie vincent was an egyptian character however, not the best version of the band. They know that the perception of the real line up is where the money is. You will never see a replacement for Gene or Paul.
@rawbo007 A real fan likes the real deal you douche! Let me ask you this, if Paul and Ringo were to get together and do a tour as the Beatles. Just get a couple of guys that look like John and George. Would you consider that a "real" Beatles tour?? I agree with AgelofAnguish. As I have said before, unmasked versions, great! Eric Carr as the fox, great! Vinnie Vincent as an Egyptian figure, great! But don't try to whore out the characters that Ace and Peter created. Done, I win pussy!
Can you get a great view from this side of the concert? I bought tickets almost the same as these for Nov. 25 at the Staples Center. Does everyone get to see the show good?
