My dad was in the Navy when I was a kid and was out to sea for 6 months at a time. It was hard on all of us. Finally, he stood up and said "Enough" and left the Navy to be there for his family. However, he wasn't a believer of the LORD and became very angry all the time, to the point where my mother had considered leaving him several times. It took me running away to join the Army to get him to seriously reconsider his life. He found God now and has been a much better man ever since.
This song hit home for me hard and I pray I can be strong enough for my family, to be the husband my wife deserves, to be the father my kids deserve, to be the man God deserve.

What an amazing man, not only the way he has chosen to fight for his marriage & his children but to admit & bring it to God that he needed His help. This song has helped my husband and through a really rough couple of years. He has been my anchor for 41 years. It is not easy when you have a four year old grandson who was almost a daily part of your life die in a tragic accident and a 15 year old granddaughter try and commit suicide and court problems with neighbors and issues with family who are so worldly. My husband is strong for me and I stand by him. I thank God for him and this song depicts our life together for 41 years.

My hope is that fathers everywhere, in church or home see this song and video for "Fathers Day" and that their heart and mind is open to the awesome message that God wants to share with them. My husband has been in a Christian rehab for the past 6 months and by Gods Will can travel the 2000 miles to live closer to us and show by example that he is ready to lead our family. This is our 8 yr old daughters prayer since she has not seen him in 15 months now.

This song has touched me, I'm a young christian woman who at times wants to be the strength. My boyfriend and I have been dating for a year, and I watch and listen to how strong he is for me, but once in a while I see that prayer asking God to lead him. I heard this song for the first time on the radio the other day and it near instantly brought tears to my eyes. This song hits home closely for me. My wife and I have been married for 2 years, wrapping up 3 now and the first 2 years were the happiest of my life. I got caught up in chasing dreams.. I have been a firefighter for 6 years now and chose to chase a Paramedic education on top of working 2 jobs. Needless to say I havent been at home leading my wife and our family like I should have.

I can see both sides of their discussion. On one hand he's been on the road and absent. This means she has to be the Mom and the Dad. He gets home and he is very tired. I am sure this happens a lot. He wants to crash and she wants him to turn it up emotionally. I hope they have learned to compromise. She can give him a day or two to chill. And then he can turn it up after those days to be the man of God in the family.

My husband has driven a semi over the road for 18 yrs it has been a struggle for him becauce he feels guilty for being gone all the time it's unfair for him to have to choose working and feeding his family or to cxome home and have no job he showed me this video and i've never seen my husband so humble, he was in tears from the start of the song to the end, why should father's have to make these kind of choices?

Our Family has struggled because of my decisions in the things that I allowed to "lead me". I've really had to make a gut/heart check and decide what I want. I have been away from my wife and kids since last Thursday and every minute has been lonely for me and for them i'm sure. I see them everyday and my wife is supporting me in my quest for greatness for myself so that when I enter back into our home I can be the husband/daddy that "LEADS THEM", I can and I will. This is a pretty emotional song for me because well my parents didn't have that relationship. My dad didn't fufil his duty and my mom didn't tell my dad what was wrong. Now they are seperated and it's effecting my whole life. It's been a year and a half since they split and this song just reminds me of what my life was before the split in a beautiful, wonderful way.

This "story behind" is a bit odd. It's a story about how he and his wife worked together to repair their marriage, yet you never see them in this interview together. Sure, they show a few family photos, but it seems unfinished without a closing comment from the couple... seated together.

Wow, talk about hitting home. My husband and I have been married for 7 1/2 years and when I heard this song, the tears were flowing. We have 3 beautiful children. I have felt for quite some time that we are on the verge of separating. I feel so lost and alone. He is trying so hard to save his failing business, and seems oblivious to the fact that our marriage has failed. It is still there legally, but I am not in his heart anymore. I look at my children and I am devastated. I pray, "God help us"

My fiancee and I were just going through a rough time. Pretty much exactly what Matt was talking about in the video, a wall between two people. I was really at a low point, thinking about walking away from the relationship, when I was brought to this song again. I showed it to my fiancee and he said that the song was completely right. It was everything I deserved that he forgot about and needed to work on. I'm just praying God will lead us. It makes me so hopeful.

there are some very good points to the problems men and women have in marriage. While it is good that husbands need to be strong and step up, this stepping up must not be stepping up above their wife, but rather beside her. Parents lead their children together. It is a partnership.

@classified9 None of this video is "too Christian." This video is talking about how they fought to keep their marriage and their family together. That is a tough fight. If you're too narrow minded to see that......then I'm sorry. What rooted them was Christ. For you, it could be your friends, your influences, your job. Sharing this video with the world was to show us that there is a war to be won and that we can do it. Not that Christ "fixed everything", just that their belief helped their path.
