@apmason They brought the design of the characters back to their elemental basics: they once again had colored weapons specific to their elements, they looked like they were crafted to be the sets they were rather than a conglomeration of spare parts, and the heads and helmets were pretty cool. Plus, Bionicle needed a story refresh; the same heroes trying to awaken the same god for eight years was past stale. And nothing in the '09 - '10 story contradicted any earlier stories, so it's all good.
