  • Very Cool Indeed!!!!!!!!!!!!! Where can I find one of these for my own????

  • @punkrockpub You have to make it yourself. The kits are older, American GKs and they haven't been made since before i was in preschool.

Walthers bought American GK and sold the E60s for a while, which included a not quite correct NJ transit paint scheme. If you lurk on Ebay long enough, and go to train shows/swaps, one or two will show up every few months, though usually in either Amtrak or some oddball paint scheme. they can be had cheaply, but they also command high bids on ebay.

  • One other question, How did the process go with powering a dummy locomotive?, becaue Im thinking on doing the same with a dummy P-42

  • @freeekyzeeeky It was no trouble at all. You just need the correct parts. the same trucks that are in GP athearn diesels will power a P42. From there on, you just need matching drives, and motors. The E60 in the video uses Proto Power West parts. If you go to their site, you can find what you need.

the most annoying part will be mounting the wires to the frame and trucks. Soldering doesn't always work well, but tapping the frame and upper contacts and wiring that up will work

  • Kudos to you on the paint job, very detaile work on your behalf

  • Awesome!! 5 STARS!!! Some of those views looked VERY realistic!! Why stand in traffic on the Jersey Turnpike when you can ride NJT?

  • where did u get the passenger cars?

  • I ordered them from Walthers. They don't have a run out right now i don't think, but roughly every couple years they re-run them, since the NJ transit cars are fairly popular.

If you're impatient, Island Model Works sells ALL NJ transit comet cars, including the bi-levels. You just need paint and decals.

  • ok thanks 4 the info

  • Are you interested in a ho njt f40ph w/ dcc?

  • nah i'm set.

  • i've watched this video several times. like it. do u know where i can find one of these engines in ho?

  • You can't. The American GK E60s are a tough find. I have only once seen a NJ transit E60 available for sale.

You are pretty much stuck to just repainting an undecorated model if you find one. Ebay is your best bet.

  • did u paint it or the did it come in njt paint scheme?

  • watch the video, lol!

In the 1980s, there was prepainted NJ transit E60 out by walthers, but the paint scheme was all wrong. it was essentially painted like an amtrak with disco stripes.

In order to get the correct paint scheme, you have to paint the black over the cabs, and you'll need two sets of microscale NJ transit decal sheets, since the discostripes on the E6o are much longer than on normal NJ transit units.

  • who made the e60?

  • Its an American GK kit. They are about 30 years old. Walthers bought the company out in the late 80s, and they have a redisigned (though less accurate) underbody. both have heavy frames with athearn drives, and are epic pullers. Grades are no problem, these locomotives can handle them by themselves with some work.

  • is there gonna be any multilevels in HO scale? btw nice video 5/5

  • Outstanding Model! Very Accurate. I really enjoyed your video.

    Eric

  • thats a nice loco. wish they still ran

  • Maybe you could slow it down once in a while?

  • wow, people keep telling me i run these things to fast. I feel like when I see them on the layout, its going slow... but i guess once you look from a "scale" perspective, it is going pretty fast. It will crawl though. I could do another video, but probably later.
