  • Words fail this song.Absolute epic.

  • 10 years ago on this day a Philosopher died :'(

  • man it sucks (And i reckon most metalheads will be with me on this) but from what i heard the reason Chuck died was because he couldn't afford the treatment for his brain cancer. If i'd of knew this band/ been old enough back then, i would of donated shit loads!

  • @shuttsworth He was originally denied the surgey due to lack of funds, but managed to fundraise with help from bands like Korn, Kid Rock, and RHCP. He got the money and underwent surgery. He ended up dying of pnuemonia due to his weakened state.

  • 2 more days.

  • Yeah its Richard Christy on the drums.

  • Amazing song, I definately need to get the Individual Thought Patterns album

  • Rest in peace. We know chucks jammin on the other side with cliff burton right now.

  • who was drumming on this ? Gene Holgan ?

  • @MattLloydShredder

I'm pretty sure it was Richard Christy by then. I may be wrong though

  • shit yea fucking guitar solo ripped my mind

  • long time ago i knew the band, now when i thought chuck schuldiner is dead... makes me cry EVER

  • "yeah... he is just an evil sorcerer with a crystal ball." what my wife said about Chuck.... lol

  • LINCOLN PARK IS NOT METAL!!!!

  • chuck is the father of death metal

    <3

  • @Blutekel666 While he was the frontman for one of the earliest death metal bands, it's not like they were the first. There were plenty of bands at around the same time playing the same thrash based style as Death.

  • @shockofhyperbole Chuck never referred to his music as death metal, and if you listen to it you can see why...his music is relatively mild compared to bands like CC, Deicide, and other DM bands at the time..Although it is extremely heavy, there's more melody in his music which makes it just straight metal...so there's no argument, he would even agree, his earliest stuff was thrash really, it was the vocals I guess that set it apart..

  • @NGDemonSlayer12 Meh, Scream Bloody Gore and Leprosy were certainly Death Metal, just old school, like old school Thrash, compare Kill em all to Ride the Lightning, or MoP.

I'd also consider Human DM, there is different styles of DM, and Human as certainly Tech/prog DM

  • @ohgoditsjames94 but do you notice what all of those styles have in common? METAL...period, he had so many things going on you couldn't categorize him..he said it himself bro, he's just metal.

  • @NGDemonSlayer12 No no, I know, I agree, and I also have seen him saying so

But whether he did it on purpose or not, he started of a breed of Metal, and he just carried don doing his own thing through his life, which is why Death is probably now my favorite band.

  • @ohgoditsjames94 Fair enough, you've got a point there haha. Death fuckin rules all the same.. Chuck is a big influence on my guitar playing, and my voice even kinda sounds like his (singing-wise) haha

  • New channel with all the greatest punk/death, black, viking/norse metal, industrial! Work in progress! My music coming soon!

  • One of the best metal bass solo that I've ever heard

  • i hate when people say the world trade center crash was the most terrible event in 2001....

  • @JUZTraunreutSZENIT the most disgusting part is that the US govt. planned it all..

  • @JUZTraunreutSZENIT the most disgusting part is that the US govt. planned it all..

  • the guy until 0:16 is gay :)

  • sick

  • Give us back Chuck Schuldiner and we'll give you Justin Bieber

  • @Reinkaos218 Come on, who the fuck wants Justin Bieber? the gods only take the best they can find man.

  • give us chuck and dimebag back please

  • @joeblsfli Indeed.

  • RIP means he wont be waking up to what we are to face..CHAOS. So I know u metal heads think ur all tough..but..If u say what u say u r..don't give up. Chuck is lucky.

  • Bad Song!

  • Its sad that someone with his guitar and songwriting skills will never get the credit he deserves outside the metal community . Maybe one day people will get their heads out from their asses and realize real talent.. R.I.P Chuck

  • sounds much better with a fret-less bass

  • Chuck was god! \m/ RIP

  • RIp chuck you and your pain will never be forgotten

  • CHUCK FOREVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

  • firts decent death metal ......rest are just pigs singinging this is like progresive ...well done guys....-but most of death metal sucks!!!!

  • @Tilosender Opeth, Nile, listen, now :P

  • Besides extremely talented and sincere, Chuck was also very buff

  • what the hell of a song

  • RIP Chuck. Bad ass song

  • watchin chuck makes me want to go practice

  • if only life was more like brutal legend where shredding literally melts the faces of non believers

  • 8 people know so much about nothing at all like the philosopher...

  • i like death metal, but i would love it if there were more bands like Death

  • RIP "Evil" Chuck.......hope to see u in hell

  • @wishbone3388 no hell for chuck hell is for stupid gnagsters and ugly noobs

  • RIP Chuck Schuldiner

  • Digorgio should have been here instead, Kelly cant handle that much craziness

  • @jakey3573 Its not Kelly, its Scott Clendenin.

  • Master

  • Did the bassist attempted the solo and pissed off chuck?

  • @mickeltheheadbanger The song has like 2 bass solos

  • That scream is insane!!!.

  • i fucking love this band and chuck may you rest in peace

  • this band was WAY before it's time...he died before his time...RIP Chuck, my kids will know you.

  • @MetallicOpeth total agree with you

  • We played this song last on our first gig, the ending soloing was ridiculously fun.

  • Esta wea las caga wn pedazo de banda !!!

grande Chuck siempre en nuestras mentes!!

  • why ;( why so early!?

  • solo was done perfectly. chuck schuldiner is better than me. so is the drummer. im not bad i can do the first 30 seconds of slayer's hell awaits on drums.

  • @bml106 stop talking about yourself fool

  • @bml106 too bad no one cares

  • why the fuck does anyone pay attention to the likes/dislikes?

  • @elementskater94

I don't know... I also ask myself that and can't find an answer.

When I see a video I just pay attention to the music or whatever I'm watching,

  • Those trading guitar/bass solos are amazing.

  • 8 people have absolutely no musical taste...

  • Unlike most bands, death sound even more amazing live, wish i was at eindhoven in 1998 :P

  • riffs solos bass vocals drums... i havenot yet found any band complete as Death... cannibal corspe is shitt compared to death....

  • @787sulav I love Cannibal Corpse, but I completely agree with you! R.I.P. Chuck!

  • @787sulav Cannibal isant shit compared to anything why don't ou call out a fag band like BMTH

  • sick bass at 3:30 ish

  • true death metal , thumbs up!

  • justin bieber should've died instead of chuck. like if you agree

  • @DFlvl40 i agree with you but just the fact u said "like if you agree" im not going to like it

  • @DFlvl40 (s)he should just listen Chuck's music and then (s)he will die

  • @DFlvl40 THIS IS A METAL VIDEO, FUCK JUSTIN BIEBER AND DON'T PUT THIS FUCKING NAME ON A DEATH VIDEO.

  • @WateverBr didnt you do that? ^^

  • @WateverBr And yet you end up with the top comment regarding that faggot you cunt.

  • @DFlvl40 We shall not speak of he who must not be named on the video of a band formed of GODS! Just saying.

  • @gowpow94 yeah, nowadays i agree with that. back then i hated bieber just so much

  • @DFlvl40 No one should've have died, you fucking prick.

  • @sinbysin666 lol umad bro? i posted that comment 9 months ago, nowadays i don't hate bieber, i just strongly dislike him and his music. now shut the fuck up.

  • @DFlvl40 I like the way you start the comment, by addressing my aggressive remarks, but you end the comment with the clear impression of anger. Lulz.

  • @sinbysin666 yes, isn't it funny?

  • @sinbysin666 exactly, isn't it funny?

  • @DFlvl40 was bieber even born when chuck was alive, well who actually gives a fuck

  • @MrSienisalaatti niin... mutta kuten varmaan huomaat, postasin ton kommentin 9kk sitten, ja nykyään en jaksa edes välittää nykyajan paskoista artisteista ja siitä, mitä he tekevät

  • @DFlvl40 i think its about time we stop making JB jokes now... but i so agree with u there

  • @WintersunFTWFTW yeah, i know it's getting lame, but i think you can see that i posted that comment 9 months ago? nowadays i don't give a shit about justin or rebecca black or anyone else annoying bitch

  • @DFlvl40 Was he even born then?

  • @DFlvl40 His father is probably younger than chuck.

It's wrong to wish someone dies, but fuck that shithead.

  • @DFlvl40 Justin Biebers was not born yet, when Chuck passed away...

  • @NilsFourbe man you suck at trolling.

  • @NilsFourbe then someone shouldve kicked his dads balls until he couldnt produce active sperm..and juuust maybie chuck wouldnt have died

  • @NilsFourbe The stupid, IT BURNS!!!!

  • @DFlvl40 don't write that name here, you mess up the video.

just enjoy listen the music. good luck.

  • @faurosan congratulations, you are maybe twentieth person to answer my comment. did you even see that i posted it 1 fucking year ago? nowadays i don't give a shit about bieber or rebecca black or any other crappy so-called "musician". and yea, i do enjoy listening to music. have a nice day, sir.

  • @DFlvl40 justin bieber didnt even live when chuck died...right?

  • @Daski007 of course he was alive, chuck died in 2001 : (

  • hey wasnt there a guitarist in death who was also in iced earth and he lived in a shed for like 10 years or something?

  • @TheSonsofHorusx death and iced earth shared a few musicians, but the only one that lived in a storage shed was richard christy. hes the drummer in this video and he played drums for iced earth

  • great song!

  • chuck is dead but him always in my fuckin heart and death never dead \m/ death is godfather of deathmetal \m/

  • @aryoooooo He is not. Stop giving him that title.

  • Why is everyone saying RIP Chuck? We want him back, right? So we should be saying don´t rest in peace, come back as a badass death metal zombie and slaughter all the shit music makers with a single lick from your mighty guitar :P

  • @Benteiron it would be awesome if chuck came back as a zombie

  • @HerveGamerDude Yeah it would. Especially if he was wielding a flaming guitar of doom and riding a huge hellhound :P

  • @Benteiron

So you want him to live for eternity as a living corpse? I'd rather have him rest, he gave this world more then enough :)

  • @ChaplainDMK Well, he did say that he would live forever if it was possible :P

  • @Benteiron

I think most people would take that back quite quickly, but I would like to live longer, like 1000 years, out of that school would take the same ammount of time, but the time between your 15th and 30th year would take 500 years or something like that :P

  • @ChaplainDMK I dont know about that, I think I´ll get bored of living before my 70th birthday :P

  • @Benteiron YES I COMPLETELY AGREE

  • @Benteiron stfu faggot

  • @mlademamehocekurca And what are you replying to?

  • Rest in solace and peace, Chuck. You are immortal in your music

  • Death Metal with feeling and soul

  • metal...with heart and soul.....

  • Good song!

  • This song loses so much of it's awesomeness without DiGiorgio's basslines. Sure, Kelly does a pretty decent job with the outro soloing, but he just doesn't have the skill to reach Steve above his kneecaps. It's a shame he had to leave after ITP, whatever the reason was.

  • @DeusMortemEst

Um. Because Steve's main band was Sadus and he had obligations with them? Steve was supposed to be on Symbolic too but he was recording with Sadus.

  • He's Still alive

  • the 1st solo

  • that is a fucking sick guitar solo and rythem riff under it

  • Are these videos from that show on a dvd? Id like to get it, i just found out about this band a few months ago (i had heard of them but never heard them :p ).

  • This musik never die !!!

    R.I.P Chuck .

  • troll

  • Greatest metal band of all time. RIP Chuck. I don't know about u guys but think that Chuck was the greatest guitarist ever.

  • this is so fucking amazing.

Death&Pantera forever in my heart !

    R.I.P Chuck&Dime

  • R.I.P Chuck.

    Fuck , why ??????????

  • ????? Schuldiner U dont know ? :)

  • RIP Chuck. Your music will never be forgotten.

  • @Gregrg7 faggots

  • You know so much about nothing at all. epic

  • In 2 years, Death will be eligible for induction into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. How much you want to bet they get snubbed?

Then again, if Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Motorhead, Slayer and Rush (11 years and counting!) are still waiting, there doesn't seem to be much hope for Death

Fuck the R&RHOF; They know so much about nothing at all!

    RIP Chuck. You deserve better...

  • @ZachValkyrie

    Sad but true.

  • @Nightfox92 death and maiden are the shit! .keyword THE shit!

  • iron maiden just sucks in front of death

  • Zach, as soon as Nickelback entered the hall of fame it became kinda meaningless. I don't think Chuck deserves to be housed in the same hall as some of the guys in there. Having said that, we should campaign in a couple of years to get him in there anyway. Genre pioneer, incredible guitarist, etc.

  • death will never make it in there even though they inspired almost every genre of metal from their own death metal to metalcore and thrash they deserve alot more than they'll ever get

  • @ZachValkyrie no shit man they put shitallica in but not Death there is something wrong with that

  • We need a metal hall of fame

  • Indeed we do.

  • @darkfire6633 if we had a metal hall of fame,i know chuck would be one of the first in it

  • I don't really care shit about R&RHOF... They fucking inducted METALLICA???? before Iron Maiden or Judas Priest.

  • is this concert on a dvd? does anyone know?

  • There is a CD/DVD called Live in Eindhoven ;)

  • orgasmic solo

  • ps. that nigga cursed him, its wierd if u look at that, and btw. the other guitar headbangs and moves like an idiot lol just because its death dont disagree with me

  • Sorry/ after TRUE -- ! ---

  • DEath by chuck is bestest death-band in the world/ it-s true? aren-t you?

  • probably one fo the best death songs out there

  • LEGENDS NEVER DIE !!!!!

  • amen... Metal To Metal... There was no one like him and there never will be... LONG LIVE CHUCK !

  • Christ! it is so fucking hard to sing/play this at the same time. my band covered this delightful tune a week ago, and I had to practice these parts for almost a month before I could do both parts simultaneously.

  • Same hear (even though i play the bass, lots of it follows the guitar...)

  • death may not have invented death metal, but they are definately the first ones to perfect it. R.I.P. chuck, we all love and always will.

  • actually its said that they did. There first demo came out in 83 and its said to be the first ever death metal recording.

  • yeah i could be wrong. i get most of my information from wikipedia anyways so thats an automatic fail on my part lol.

  • Not really. I only know that becuase i'm a death freak. I know almost everything out there about them. I'm just wierd like that.

  • thats a death metal guitarist... all these new "i am death metal watch my arpeggios... yea!" can go die... chuck forever... no matter how technical a guitarist my b, they can never compete to the natural rhyme chuck has

  • Too true. There's too many bands who call themselves death metal just to be 'brutal' and just to act cool or whatever.

No death metal guitarist will ever be as great as Chuck. He was and is amazing.

    Chuck lives through Death.

  • man I know you wrote this comment a month ago but you can't just throw ALL new guitarists under the table because they practice and shred some arpeggios. Sure, lots may never have the same rhyme, songwriting ability, or vocal awesomeness as Chuck, but there are lots of great death metal guitarists. Necrophagist, Quo Vadis, Obscura, Brain Drill - all of those guys deserve some credit too because they also have some of their stuff is also original and inspired - but not copied from Death.

  • I have to agree with ForgetTheLight to a point. It seems to me, this is just my opinion, but there's alot of "death metal" today that has just alot of solos and melodies. To me .... Chuck's vibe was, he could solo circles around just about anyone, but more imporantly, his riffs were just brutal and memorable. You don't get that alot today. Alot, NOT ALL, of the guitarists out there now seem to think flying around on the neck is where it is at. True death metal starts with that bonecrushing riff.
