However, Wilt had to play against all up and coming fighters. The was no manager keeping him from playing against the other best players. Fedor was the best, but Jordan? No. Chamberlain? Honestly i dont see Fedor beating some of the guys in the UFC. I think Lesnar and Carwin would both beat Fedor. Fedor would KO mir in the 1st round because he is so much faster. It would only strengthen the reputation, not weaken it. Of course, you will have people that will die off because their favorite fighters got outclassed, but then you will have plenty of people that followed Pride and Affliction tuning in more often, so it will more than make up for any disapointed UFC fanatics, trust me.

Shane Carwin would have a HUGE advantage up against the cage. Rogers was able to press Fedor up against it and he has no wrestling background. Carwin is a NCAA wrestling champion, as is Lesnar, and he has got some CRAZY striking up against the cage. Did you see his last fight on 111? The dude is a beast. Cain Velasquez also has a lot of power and was a wrestler in college. He is very fast and has insane cardio. He would be a very tough fight for anyone, including Fedor.

I definitely back Fedor against them though because i believe him to have superior skills. This made the UFC uncomfortable because they thought that SK and M-1 would piggy back off of the UFC. I watched Dana's phone conference that talked in detail about sighning Fedor. Dana said he "threw and ass load of money" at Fedor.

Over the last year or so I have seen every one of Fedor's fights, even studied his fighting styles. I have read just about everything I could about him. I've seen every youtube video of him training, talking to the press, pre and post fight interviews you name it. And today all I could kept thinking about was that I don't want Fedor in the UFC. I think he's better than that. I think it would tarnish everything he stands for and believes in. I know he'd clean out the UFC heavy weight division.
But that's not his style. He has nothing to prove. He doesn't trust or like Dana and the UFC. He's better than that. I'm not saying that i am not a big fan of the UFC fighters, but the UFC has it's corruptions and Fedor knows this and may not want to be played out like a puppet on a string. What do you think about this? Again I look forward to your blogs and replies.
great video! I think you aready gave the answer on why the UFC wouldnt want to co- promote with SF. Cause if it turns out that Fedor can beat their best guys (and he will!) they will lose their reputation as this organization, which has the best fighters of the world. This would actually help Strikeforce, cause noone really wants to see the 2nd, 3rd, 4th best fighters watching the UFC, when they know that the best is at SF. It's very simple, the UFC copies WWF. And MLS (soccer) copies the NFL. And those systems are wrong to begin with, and thus you start to understand why America is going downhill. If UFC don't wake up other brands like M1 will literally stand for this sport (in name) like UFC stands for mma in the usa.
Fertitta brothers need to give Dana the boot, Dana has done alot for the sport.. however hes also destroying it by not giving the fans what they want.. i mean if strikeforce could make a deal with m1, then why couldn't the ufc?
The fights I would like to see for Fedor in order of most to least are:
Alistair Overeem: Insanely huge and talented right now, can knock anyone out. I give him a 40% chance of beating Fedor. Josh Barnett: One of the best HW records of all time, whose chances depend on if he's in top form or fat-and-gassing, perhaps a 30% chance. Brock Lesnar: 10% chance, would still be fun to watch. Frank Mir: 15% chance. Werdum: 15%, world class BJJ expert. Carwin and Velasquez: Mostly untested, 10 to 20%.
The real question is, "Who gives a fuck?". UFC doesn't need Fedor.

Great stuff. I think it is because Dana don't wan't to admit them as a treat. He has been saying since you posted this video that he considers Strikeforce an enemy and it to be a competition between the two of them or any other company stepping up in any way.
He doesn't wan't to acknowledge them as a organisation in the same field or caliber as them.

Fedor is no Michael Jordan. Maybe a "Wilt Chamberlain lite". Wilt played in an era where the competition lacked. There were no other 7 footers to challenge him. Then M1 said no to the UFC offer. That was just more mounting evidence that perhaps Fedor was quite there anymore. When you're the best fighter, you run TO the competition, not run the other way. GSP called out Jake Shields even before he signed with the UFC.

To beat Fedor you have to outbox him and sprawl his takedown attempts. Fedor is the best fighter because he's just so damn fast and he hits hard. I would say someone like mark Hunt but with sprawling capabilities. who knows how far alovski could've lasted if he had a chin.

Honestly i dont see Fedor beating some of the guys in the UFC. I think Lesnar and Carwin would both beat Fedor. Fedor would KO mir in the 1st round because he is so much faster. It would only strengthen the reputation, not weaken it. Of course, you will have people that will die off because their favorite fighters got outclassed, but then you will have plenty of people that followed Pride and Affliction tuning in more often, so it will more than make up for any disapointed UFC fanatics, trust me.

Are the UFC fighters better than what he has beaten? No!! What qualifies the likes of Carwin, Valasquez and Lesnar to be called the best? Lesnar is 4-1 in MMA he needs a lot more wins and experience to be considered as a worthy opponent. Valasquez and Carwin have had very short careers also so why are they good enough to fight Fedor? Shane Carwin just ran through Frank Mir who was ranked like #3, Cain Velasquez just Knocked Nogueira the Fuck Out, which has never happened. Junior Dos Santos has 5 straight Ko's... and Fedor is stalling until June to fight Werdum, seriously? So you are fine with Fedor keeping the #1 ranking because of fights from 6 years ago? That's not how rankings work. Fedor's last win was over Rogers who was ranked #7 and his next is Werdum who is ranked #9.... Brock's last win was over Frank Mir who was ranked #3 and his next will be against Carwin who just took the #3 spot. If Shane Carwin beats Lesnar, the #2 guy, he'll be the new #1. If Brock beats another guy ranked at #3, he'll be #1. Both of those are more impressive than beating #9.

I brought up the Nog fights because you mentioned the fact that Valasquez KO'd Nog and Fedor beat him twice in his prime. I'm not judging his number 1 ranking on those 2 victories alone. Just look recently Arlovski and Sylvia the way he beat those guys was breathtaking to knock Arlovski out like that with one punch was scary. Fedor's skills are amazing he is freakishly talented. You did'nt answer the question about how the likes of Carwin and Valasquez would beat Fedor.

Shane Carwin would have a HUGE advantage up against the cage. Rogers was able to press Fedor up against it and he has no wrestling background. Carwin is a NCAA wrestling champion, as is Lesnar, and he has got some CRAZY striking up against the cage. Did you see his last fight on 111? The dude is a beast. Cain Velasquez also has a lot of power and was a wrestler in college. He is very fast and has insane cardio. He would be a very tough fight for anyone, including Fedor.

@RoyNelsonBeatFedor That was a great victory for Carwin against Mir. I appreciate him as a fighter i see him as a dangerous opponent as well as Lesnar and Valasquez. I definitely back Fedor against them though because i believe him to have superior skills. These are potentially great fights but of course we're not sure what will happen with regards to contracts and all the politics. Hopefully there can be an agreement and we will be seeing Fedor vs Lesnar and Fedor vs Carwin etc.

Are you kidding me? Nogueira fights the same EXACT way he did back in Pride... get beat up and then eventually get the submission. Velasquez blasted him before Nog got to take it to the ground. It wouldn't of mattered what year it was, Velasquez knocked him the fuck out. I don't understand the whole "age" excuse... yeah, he's got beaten up a lot in his but he's only lost a few times since Pride. Lesnar, Carwin and Velasquez would all give Fedor a run for his money.

I read all of these post that state how Fedor would easily beat Lesnar, yet those same people do not want the fight to happen. Fedor's legacy will live regardless, but it would look better if he beats Lesnar, Mir, and Carwin rather than have a record beating Werdum. Fedor was in that position many times before in the Cro Cop and Nogueira fights and he escaped those triangles in a second ... he was much slower in this fight and had more fat on him. Regardless, he is still the best MMA fighter in history, and still, a 31-2 record is still amazing. But yes, Fedor is getting older. 10 years is a long time. However, have no doubts; if the Fedor of 10 years ago fought Werdum he would've demolished him.

I agree with everything you said. Correction though Jordan won 6 off point of video. The reason UFC will never co-promote is because say Brock Lesnar vs Fedor. Brock loses. Now the UFC after the co promotion has to have a UFC Heavyweight Champion that has lost to another promotions Heavyweight, which would actually be a whole lot worse for their company than never doing the event at all. But I would love to see it. It will just never happen. Agree though on Fedor having nothing to prove

With the UFC's HW division exploding with new talent, the UFC wants the best. With a record like his Fedor can put butts in seats like Lesnar does when he's in events. The hype over Fedor is a competition to have the best fighters. The fact that Strikeforce of all promotions actually signed Fedor is a thorn in the side of UFC. The UFC would like to also shut fans up over the blogging whether or not Fedor can beat Lesnar in his prime.

Dude you are spot on! The whole strike force and M-1 contract didn't work out b/c they wanted a ridiculousness contract with the UFC. This made the UFC uncomfortable because they thought that SK and M-1 would piggy back off of the UFC. I watched Dana's phone conference that talked in detail about sighning Fedor. Dana said he "threw and ass load of money" at Fedor.

ike dont be fooled. dana white is not a smart man by any stretch, he is a brown-noser who got lucky. he (or rather the ufc) has got an very advantageous position where anything said is taken at face value because they are basically the only source for information. the usually careful dana slipped up and broadcasted the phone conference over webcam. in there he demonstrated text-book examples of the body language of a liar. not to mention what he said. the 'assload of money' is dana's weekly wage

Over the last year or so I have seen every one of Fedor's fights, even studied his fighting styles. I have read just about everything I could about him. I've seen every youtube video of him training, talking to the press, pre and post fight interviews you name it. And today all I could kept thinking about was that I don't want Fedor in the UFC. I think he's better than that. I think it would tarnish everything he stands for and believes in. I know he'd clean out the UFC heavy weight division.

Cause if it turns out that Fedor can beat their best guys (and he will!) they will lose their reputation as this organization, which has the best fighters of the world. This would actually help Strikeforce, cause noone really wants to see the 2nd, 3rd, 4th best fighters watching the UFC, when they know that the best is at SF. The UFC represantatives are just very smart businessmen and nothing else

It's very simple, the UFC copies WWF. And MLS (soccer) copies the NFL. And those systems are wrong to begin with, and thus you start to understand why America is going downhill. There is no new wealth being created, the US is living off past riches (made after WWII). What the UFC is doing is pure protectionism. The fights I would like to see for Fedor in order of most to least are:
Alistair Overeem: Insanely huge and talented right now, can knock anyone out. I give him a 40% chance of beating Fedor. Josh Barnett: One of the best HW records of all time, whose chances depend on if he's in top form or fat-and-gassing, perhaps a 30% chance. Brock Lesnar: 10% chance, would still be fun to watch. Frank Mir: 15% chance. Werdum: 15%, world class BJJ expert. Carwin and Velasquez: Mostly untested, 10 to 20%.
