  • Emotionally moving, classic Gilmour at his best...still!

  • I think if David were not able to play the music in his head perfectly he would explode

  • Absolutely brilliant, so beautiful and moving.. wow. . nice..

  • wonderful thank's Fz...........................

  • When Dave plays, it's as if his guitar becomes a part of him, with a direct connection to his heart. And then his voice comes in and fills the other spaces between. Just *achingly* beautiful.

  • so amazingly perfect, such melancholic verses..this is music that reaches deep into the soul, thx for posting...

  • not as great as PF, but still pretty amazing

  • His music is so perfectly melancholy but in a good kind of way.

  • I am on an Island, Newfoundland, ganna trip on another Island, Bell Island, But before that: ♪(︶‿︶)

  • Piękne, a jaki nastrój przy słuchaniu ... Super !!!

  • So beautifully perfect

  • @aquasquid36 Obvious troll is obvious

  • i enjoy this video

  • it ends? wtf

  • @Jagethemage

    it never ends

  • I wish this song would never end.

  • good video mate....kinda trippy actually.....

for all those who are wondering why bieber has million views and this just has thousands, it just tells u how few people exist on this planet that can acknowledge sensible music and the majority of the world is doomed with stupidity.....

  • @wrathofdiablo you could put any video to gilmour's voice and it would be trippy and brilliant :)

  • im from a small town and most people all listen to this music its seemd to drip down into every generation here and thats what i love bout music like this it never gets old it seems to get more popular

  • i dont understand how this song has 50 thousand views and mr gay just bieber the 16 year old faggot 3ashan 400 million views!????

  • @okojok11 understand your concern, but please refrain from even mentioning people that dont deserve mention atall.. good or bad. forget about them completely and they do not exist, mate

  • its all rap now? 96 likes..its not rap u idiot . im 20 I LOVE 2PAC PINK FLOYD , BIGGIE, THE DOORS , WU TANG LED ZEPPELIN BILLY JOEL plenty other wide variety ..MUSIC ISN'T THE SAME!

  • 1:03 LOL#

  • AWESOME POINT Blamunge!!!

  • I agree with Blamunge completely. I'm 14 as well, and it makes me sick to hear the music that my older brother and dad listen to, but then turn on the radio and it's synthesized crap that doesn't deserve half the respect that classic rock bands and of course Gilmour deserve. It's up to this generation to bring it back, before it gets too deep. Come on guys, let's get it done!

  • stop knocking young teenagers for liking good music. It's here for everyone to listen to and love.

  • Blamunge : I'm 13. You're not only! :]

  • NICE!

  • Good God this song is so beautiful!

  • im freaking 13 i absolutley LOVE pink floyd but even more david gilmour so now i feel im not the only one

  • SOO many Juicy bend my mind cant take it!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Remember That Night, White Stairs In The Moonlight

  • I'd rather most of the 13 and 14 year olds in the world listen to rap and whatevers popular, this way only true fans are listening to the music and when you see someone wearing say a Pink Floyd or whatever their into. As much as I'd love to see say rock music be popular again imagine how annoying metallica and guns and roses concerts are now thanks to guitar hero with all these little "know it alls" ruining concerts I'd rather be surrounded by fans than parents and pre-teen kids any day.

  • i really want to know how many 12-18 have watched this :s

  • @jamiemd39 One here

  • I just downloaded this mp3 at instantmp3s..com

  • This is a great song, thanks for putting it up!

  • I love this song A wonderful composition by beautiful images and great music. Amazing!***** Thank you very much! Have a happy time!Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ [♥]♥] Sharing a dream On an Island.... it felt right We lay side by side, Between the moon and the tide Mapping the stars for a while Let the night surround you We're half way to the stars, Ebb and flow Let it grow.....
  • this is more than great...

  • I may be 56 and know who David Gilmore is, but I was there when this ledgendary band started.

    What a Ride !!!

SO Blamunge in the end I say if it makes you feel good then go with it.

Enjoy his genus and bask in his greatness.

    Peace

PS you got a great start in Music listening. :-)

  • this is art.

david u are touching my heart with ur art.

  • david gilmour + guitar = solo gets you're heart

  • if you like this theres a french band called Malajube, check out their album Labyrinthes, its great and one tune [cant remember which] has a chorus pretty similar to this songs chorus...

  • im glad 2 see that theres all young kids comenting ive been listening to pink floyd led zeppelin and deep purple from a young age daddy brang me up listenin to it alot of memories im 15 ;)

  • this is my favorite song of the on an island cd i have the live in gdansk cd got it when i was 17 now after a guy i worked with recomended it it was amazing best live album iv ever heared

  • im 13 and Im the only person at my school that knows who pink floyd or david gilmour is. shame : (

  • es el mejor canción en el mundo

  • Simplemente impactante

  • I too was 15 when I discovered David Gilmour. That was over 30 years ago and I´m still listening. He´s simply the greatest.

By the way, you can´t compare Gilmour and Waters. It´s like comparing apples and oranges. They are both geniuses and made their greatest music while working together. Guess it takes the tension of two opposite poles to create a perfect piece of music.

  • Blamunge...your the smart one my friend!

  • Hi Blamunge, you are not alone. There is a huge group of people who know the talent of Mr. Gilmour.

    Best regards

    Cali

  • Blamunge, people like me have been recognizing David Gilmour as the greatest guitarist in history.

  • very floyd like its such a peaceful and mellow song like a cup of coffee on a country morning

  • Gilmour > Waters hands down...

  • Haha I agree 100%. My sisters boyfriend is also a huge Waters fan and we get into debates all the time on who is better.

    Gilmour >>>> Waters

  • I would agree if you said Waters was a bad singer, but I don't think he's a bad vocalist. He may sing and yell the lyrics more than sing them, but the emotion he puts into it is great. Personally, I enjoy both their solo works, but they definitely were better together.

  • Sorry. the comments are screwy and I didn't notice my first actually had been posted.

  • No, Roger is a great vocalist.. He sings more then he yells. LOL.

  • I would agree if you said Waters was a bad singer, but i don't think he's a bad vocalist... if that makes any sense. He does talk and yell the lyrics more than he sings them, but the emotion he puts into it is great. Personally, I enjoy the solo works of both Water's and Gilmour, but they were definitely better together.

  • There's no doubt, David is the man. He has sound and style that is unlike any other...

  • @Cheeko1111 foresure so much better than waters solo garbage.waters cant put songs together, and his vocals suck..and he only palys bass..he needs gilmour

  • One thing you have to know is:

    - Roger Waters vocals is superb depending on whom you ask, I for one, think it's terrific and incredibly full of emotion.

    - He can put songs together, something that is evident on WYWH, Animals, The Wall and The Final Cut! Listen to some "Amused to Death", an incredible album.

    - He doesn't only play bass, he plays the guitar and other instruments too.

The fact of the matter is, they are great apart, but as any PF album, but best together.

  • no man gilmour and waters were a team..gilmour was the sound and glue...it was never the same...i liked floyd not waters solo shit

  • Gilmour and waters wasn't a team. Nick Mason, David Gilmour, Richard Wright and Roger Waters were a team. In a band you suck in the energy of everyone around you. Everybody contributes to the eventual music in one way or another by just being there. That's why Pink Floyd was so damn good, it was the combinding energy of four very talented, hungry and creative people.

  • happy, that music is still living with such people like David Gilmour, great thanks,im waiting for the next beautiful album

  • This song is beautiful and David Gilmour is a musical genius.

  • I am glad i am seeing all of these people my age enjoying David Gilmour/Pink Floyd (i am 16) For a while i thought i was one of a few who still listened to the classics. By the way you guys do know this album came out in 2006 right?

  • Love how he just bends the note just that little bit further.

  • @snoognz

    That's Gilmour...his bends are a royal pain in the ass...and fingers...to play

  • By the way.."which one's pink"?

  • i absolutely love this song!!! i love the solo at the end, its amazing!

  • 15 here too, just gave blamunge his 13th thumbs up

  • By the way, Blamunge I agree. And I'm 15.

  • The songs that "musicians" today (except for a rare few) produce is a shame to mankind. Men like David Gilmour should be given immortality.

  • @tteu123 for all the meaning mr. gilmour and floyd has given to my life, i would gladly trade a part of me if I could but contribute anything to their immortality

  • the solo in this was amazing David will be remembered forever with his contributions to music for sure... the whole goal in life really.

but you know when i was younger i would agree with rock should be more popular but look at all the guns'n'roses or metallica videos sure lots of views but the kids are idiots... if its not a trend the fans are 100x more loyal music its our voice .. our fire in our soul especially listening to solos with this much emotion as much as that solo so let them really

  • amazing song blamunge...you know kids nowadays are like machines like rap,and shits like that...

  • i really love gilmour and i recognize his amazing music

  • You know, I'm 14. and I seem to be the only one who knows who David Gilmour is. It disappoints me that nobody recognizes good music when they hear it. It's all rap now. :/

  • you deserve like a +10 for that lol.

  • yeah iam very young too, and every time i mention david gilmour/pink floyd my friend laugh and ask who they are, it is pretty sad that they don't know the classics.

  • i used to be one of those ppl, pf is great and full of meaning!

  • yeah, agreed

  • @Blamunge im 15 and feel the same way, you get condemned if you try to play music like this anymore, but ill still try !

  • Blamunge, I'm 11 and have been a finatic of the Floyd and David and Roger's solo works since I was 6 or 7 and I agree fully with you.

  • i must admit im impressed that someone so young is into the floyd. i normally cringe at the "im only 11" shite but thumbs up to you kidda. ( you can't spell for shit though) lol

  • @Blamunge I'm 14 too, I know who he is man!! but I have the same problem :( nice to know there are still other people out there!

  • @Blamunge Never lose sight of that notion you know is true for you. Many will recognise something special you as the years go by. You cannot pick the time or days to make this happen - it just will. And they will be the most significant people and they will be the most significant times of your whole life.

  • @Blamunge sad but true. Rap and hip hop is not the music which should have overshadowed the good old music.

  • @Blamunge i'm 15 man and i know the pain man.

  • @Blamunge you make my life . (: i'm 14 too

  • @Blamunge I hear you man, i'm only 12, and i feel the same as you feel

  • @Blamunge i hear u im 16 no one else could give a damn who he is glad theres still people out there still enjoy his music

  • @Blamunge man i hear you im 15 and i have the same problem as you, only one other kid knows who he is in my school >.> it is a disappointment, but sucks for them, they choose not to listen to real music.

  • @Blamunge well im 18 and i know who he is

  • @Blamunge You know, when I was 14 and listening to better music than my peers, I thought the same thing. The thing is, some of your peers will mature and eventually start listening to better music. The ones that don't mature, won't be listening to the same stuff they are now when they're older. They'll be listening to whatever the radio tells them to listen to, and you'll still be listening to David Gilmour, because music like his is timeless, and will always be great music.

  • @Blamunge dude so rite. i am 13 and nobody i know knows who pink floyd. i am sad that justin bieber get hundreds of millions of views while real music doesnt. wat is this world coming to. music i dying. i hope i am not there to see it.

  • @toviewandcomment

The real music lives as long as 13-years-old people feel and understand it. So - I look positevely in the future, thanks to you, guys. Greetings!

  • @Blamunge Its all media's fault, big money is in rap now!!! and what is rap? Is a combination of junk and false music!

  • @Blamunge I agree with you...this definitely qualifies as great music. But, to take one category of music like rap and infer it is all 'not great' is a closed minded approach to music...and life...listen to some old school rap and u just may hear a sample from something you think is wonderful... .02 from an old lady :)

  • @Blamunge i Feel your pain, it's a shame everyone has never heard this song.

  • @Blamunge u cant be more correct. second person in my general age group who appreciates good music.

  • @Blamunge o...so u started with the drugs early....

  • @Blamunge I hear ya man... excactly how I feel.

  • One of my favorites. When we listen to David Gilmour play his guitar, he takes us on an expense-paid adventure across the massive landscapes of our minds. The greatest.

  • wonderful :)

  • Great song
