Hollywood is not handling him or marketing him the way he should be. He's very talented as an actor and not afraid of playing unpopular roles. Beautifully masculine without being a pretty boy...in a Clark Gable sort of way.
i agree with everything you just said 110%!! especially the bit about playing unpopular roles (he played a murderer/rapist not too long ago, and i dont think they could've picked a better actor to play that kinda person) and i'm SOOO thankful that he's not a pretty boy (we've got waay to many of those as it is) there's NO reason JM isnt one of the top names in Hollywood, but as long as HE'S happy then we're happy, right?:-D cant wait to see his next project, <3 U JM!!^_^

Hi there twilson; I'm Rachel in LA..yes I agree...Messner is underrated and deserves better roles and more reconition..sadly this is what happens to many actors..I know some personally I'm a fitness trainer with clients in the film biz) and they do lots of TV and more than that lots of movies and still, nothing..but they are doing what they enjoy and it's really good to see them in anything they do!
He looked totally diferent in SVU and he was a prick in it but just shows his excellent acting abilities. If that was me in SVU I so would have let him take me down to the basement without a struggle. LOL!
He is so damn beautiful, why he has not yet reached stardom compared to what the hell is out there is beyond me. He has become a very good actor and dammmmn is he wonderful to look at. However, he needs to put a halt on the tattoos already, it's like someone drawing graffiti on a work of art..cut it out Johnny!
