@RaysonPaulTancasis I only lightly spray, I just "swoosh" the can around my hair, while holding it at a good distance, a couple times. I think hairspray has a tendency to weigh the hair down if it's done excessively :)
I think to get this type of hair style, to get good ringlets, I would suggest SPONGE ROLLERS, they are the best for getting perfect ringlets. Judy's hairstyle is very timeless and beautiful, she was a beautiful girl inside and out.
I use sponge rollers on a regular basis, but I wanted to demonstrate creating this hairstyle "in the moment" which sponge rollers would not have been the most opportune choice... well, it doesn't really matter, just as I said in the video, the method so much as the styling itself.
I love this hairstyle, Judy Garland's hair style in WIZ, was great, very beautiful, soft bouncey curls NEVER GO OUT OF STYLE! I do this hairstyle all of the time, it makes you look younger I am 26, but I just love the shape of it, it gives you that heart shape to your face. Judy's hair also reminds me of Belle (from Beauty and the Beast) very similiar. I am a natural redhead, and my hair has naturally wide waves, so this hair style works perfectly
If your hair doesn't hold curls well, which mine doesn't either, setting it over night in foam rollers really is the best choice... other wise, just rock it with straight hair ;)
Yes, rags will work too! It's just another method of allowing your hair to dry while it is being shaped :) Start with damp hair. Then take thin strips of material(rags), wrap 1"-2" sections of hair around it and tie it any way you can. Make sure as much of the ends of hair are also wrapped... Let dry and style! :)
I know this sounds like a bit of overkill, but this is what I tend to do. My hair naturally has spiral curl/waves, but they're erratic, uneven, and generally annoying. So, I tend to straighten my hair until it's no longer Farrah-esque, then curl it (usually pin curls).
I really like this one - i think the curls look great (i don't think they were affected by the heat that much). I like how you wear tops that fit the era and character of the time.
Oh yes, I had cravings!! But I stayed under the recommended 2500 calorie limit, and did gentle exercising. I also ate the craved foods as "special treats" and ate good healthy food the rest of the time :) Haha, No, I'm most definitely not 19 ;)
I usually hold and count to 10, but I always check by very lightly touching the hair... if it feels warmed all the way through, that should be good ^_^ (Yes, not every iron is created equally... you definitely want an iron with heat settings - for example, mine can be set as low as 10 or as high as 25)
Oh, so I'm not the only person whose hair REFUSE to be curled when the air is hot-humid! I'm glad to hear that!
As always when I watch one of yours (Have I told you I tried the "1910/Titanic" one, last Sunday? It turned out adorable, a woman stopped me to ask me where I learned to do that).
You need a confidence booster?? Well, your not only pretty but you have the sweetest voice as well!! I love the way you promote the feminine and romantic mystic!! Great job, Straw!!
omg this is so perfect! some viewers wanted to see a tutorial on my hairstyle in my elf haul video..and now I can direct them to here! this was seriously awesome, girl. Keep up the gorgeous work!
How lovely! Thank you for the inspiration. I'm going to a more formal birthday party this weekend and this hairstyle will go perfectly with the dress I want to wear!
Can I ask you? How long will it took to have the hairspray be strong? And does hairsprays affect on every doll's hair? Thanks!+

wow all these vintage hairstyles from 40's & 50's especially take a long time. how'd the women back then have time for anything else!? LOL
ibkristykat 2 years ago
I always think the same thing! lol, I guess they had a very good routine :)
StrawberryKoiVintage 2 years ago
@ibkristykat I think they usually slept in curlers, pin curls, or the rag curls (strips of cloth used as curlers).

Aww you are such a sweetheart. I love your looks. but how do you do these with naturally curly hair?
crazysexycool432355 2 years ago 2
For this particular hairstyle, I would probably bypass the curling process... as long as you have curls, that's what matters :)

You said hold until the hair gets hot. Do you have a certain recommended amount of time to hold for? I can never seem to get it long enough lol

you might want to try a different... hotter curling iron! Try Sally's Beuty Supply stores
