I have a similar mofern deck though a bit tweaked. I would get rid of the grunt and adjust my land base a bit to put in knights of the reliquary and a couple more fetch lands. The knights get huge with all thte trokairs, ghost quarters and fetches and they allow you to tutor more trokaiirs and ghost quarters increasing land fall all while getting bigger. You would be surprised how much this deck gets better that way. I tested both versions so you should try it and see for yourself.
@BohotTheRobot i tried it, but found that the mana i would be spending lvling him up, id rather be slinging spells. ive found that if im getting to the point where i have 4 free mana eot, im usually on my way to losing.
@botmaster5 Gotcha. I noticed the same problems. I am a bit interested in testing a different Boros build much more similar to the style of the Boros deck I played in Standard roughly 7 months ago.
.. Squadron Hawk is surprisingly not bad in Modern.
@botmaster5 Just wondering how you deal with Bloodmoon? I built this deck and have had a lot of fun with but when my opponent sides in 3 - 4 Bloodmoon it's pretty much scoop for me. I've gone as far as adding a couple Ratchet Bombs to the sideboard but facing down that enchantment is just rough.
@ooberallen play the same game, side out your lynx for more burn and go the burn route. you still get landfall triggers, itll just be a little slower.
@botmaster5 My current sideboard is very similar to yours from the video: 4 Molten Rain, 2 Volcanic Fallout, 2 Dismember, 2 Ratchet Bomb, 2 Auriok Champion, 3 Refraction Trap. What would you suggest for more burn? Drop the Ratchet bombs for a Shard Volley and maybe a 3rd Volcanic Fallout? Also how do you feel about Leyline of Punishment as a possible sideboard card in place of Molten Rain to combat grove of the burnwillows/punishing fire?

I am looking into play modern boros. I believe you said you could play a shrine on turn 2, a shrine on turn 3 and activate them both that turn to swing for lethal. I have been trying to figure this out for a while and for the life of me an unable to. How do you do it?
@praeposterus it all hinges on if you have flagstones of trokair in play and your third land drop is either a ghost quarter or another flagstones. you cast your second shrine, drop the ghost quarter, then ghost quarter the flagstones. ghost quarters trigger (2), and the flagstones trigger (3). if you have a 2nd flagstones, drop it into play (1), legend rule flagstones, they both are sent to the graveyard and you get two plains (2 and 3).
@praeposterus Even then that's only 14 damage. If you play a turn one Goblin Guide and swing every turn with no blockers, that's 20 damage by turn three when you activate both your shrines
I'm going to invest in this... I just got into magic when Zendikar was about to rotate out. I found out about Boros right before it did, so I saw no point in getting stuff, now I do.
Well, heres how I look at it. T1 - flagstones - lynx, t2 mesa crack mountain - geoped, swing for 4. t3 flagstones, legendary trigger, 3 lands, swing with lynx and geopede, oponent at 3, then either lightning bolt helix/ shard voley them
Very nice set up you have there, I played the crap out of boros bushwhacker in standard, and may want to reconstruct it now.
Also love the shrines, remember people absolutely convinced I was crazy for using them over pure flame. Maybe SB bushwhacker, hes just so mean. Best thing is the brimstone however, perfect replacement for burst lightning.
Also have the foil dismember if you're looking to trade,
