Lovely swinging music, and so nice to see some of the older members there as well . I used to belong to the CB fan club in the 50,s ,and I had all the LP,s and it is wonderful to see our German friends appreciating such good jazz music as us brits do , I luv to see their comments but cant read German ,but im sure they are expressing themselves as lovers of good trad jazz. Thanks a million for posting.

@Platschheimer its easy for you too say that. But in which case you have no appreciation of music. One does wonder why you were looking at this video anyway, and what possesed you too leave such a comment?
This is superb! If you like jazz, any style of jazz, then you like this! A wonderful re-creation of a New Orleans parade played by experts. Should have been twice as long, three times as long!
I've heard three different versions of this tune by the Barber band on youtube, and each one is different, each one is truly excellent. I saw his various bands in the 1950s, 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s, every time it was different, every time it was brilliant.
I saw Chris Barber play at the Octagon in Yeovil Somerset just 2 weeks ago. The band now has 18 members but they also played as a 6piece. He is just amazing and during the interval and at the end talked to the fans. During the concert he related all the musical facts and the history of each piece. His humour is as dry as ever and voice soft and cutured and as for the Music!!!! xxxxxx
Where do you stand in the great bullshit debate? What are your views about bullshit? Is it a significant social force? Is it an important element of modern society? Has bullshit developed in recent years? Is the quality of bullshit as high as in the 1990s? Or do you not have views? Do you need advice from a bullshit guidance expert?
Should bullshit become a way of life? Should the future of bullshit be regulated by government legislation, or by qualified independent consultants?
I'm a recent fan of the Band, I'm 15 and I saw them play in Leeds a few weeks ago. They played a six piece set because that's what they did when they first performed in Leeds. The performance was just amazing.
Can I believe this post? It's 2007 and I was a fan of the Barber band in the 60's, I first saw them live in South London in 1964. Are they really still playing?
Thanks for the link!! Takes me back to the fifties. I wonder if Chris watches these? He's a great bloke with a remarkable memoriy. Play Savoy Blues for me - Stockton on Tees Palais 1957.

This is absolute crap. Dixieshit is worse than rape and murder. Chris Barbar is a plonker, he and his fellows should be tortured until dead.

Oh what an ignorant. You haven't to listen to this great music. Enjoy your plastic music or whatever else!

What a worthless piece of crap you are.
No one deserves what you dish out for liking
a type of music. I lived through a war where
what you recommend was common in your country.
Don't need any of that again, twit.

Dixieland jazz is perhaps some of the best music ever created. That's not an opinion...just check out what type of music has lived through the ages.
